My father stayed at Schofield for 9 days in December 2017. He was in hospice. The staff were excellent. They were competent, caring, and very accommodating. Their counsel (along with hospice care) was thoughtful, and always had Dad's needs in mind. They really cared. We researched and wrestled with which facility my Dad should go to. We were more than satisfied with Schofield and would recommend for anyone in hospice care.

My father was in Schofield Adult Day Care. Our experience with them wasn't that great. They neglected patients. They would walk by people when they saw them calling because the other stuff was more important. But on the other hand, there were certain people in there that really went out of their way to take care of the residents. However, they don't have enough staff members at night time. I don't like the idea that whatever hospital refers them there, they follow the hospital's medications and not the patient or family that has a list of what goes on. They had moved him to a different corridor, and when you don't know anybody down that corridor they ask, "What are you looking for, can I help you?!" and I'm like, "I can't even look to see who's there?"

The staff and administration are friendly and seem generally concerned but when it comes down to it they don’t seem to follow through with getting things done. They are most times disorganized and don’t answer call lights promptly. They seem afraid to call the doctor on call as if they don’t want to disturb him when the patient or family have health concerns. The food is cold and does not meet the needs of a patient with health issues like sodium, carb or heart healthy restrictions. I wouldn’t recommend this facility because they aren’t looking out for the best interest of the patient. Seems as if they are just going through the motions and collecting a paycheck.

My mom has been at Schofield Residence for the past (3) years. We have been thankful for the personal attention and excellent care that she has received. The staff is very devoted. I wish that they were paid more generously ~ they deserve it. I visit almost daily and have always feel at peace when I leave, knowing that she is in good hands.

My wife went to Schofield Residences Nursing Facility. She liked it there. They had the same people every day. If they were different people, they were doing the same thing, and they all worked together. She knew all the people because it was the same group all the time. She was there for 23 or 24 days. The food was good. The rooms were adequate. They were about the same and were just laid out just a little differently. They had more modern televisions. They had the same kind of set-up. They went to rehab, and in their rehab, they had the same people all of the time. You'd know them by name, and they were really friendly. The aides were a lot nicer. They had activities. You could go down and play pinochle and bingo. You could go down to the dining room or stay in your room. They had a lot more going on. They had people came in like group bands and stuff. I thought it was a good facility. There, you could control your food easier. They could change your food in a heartbeat. They were much more efficient than the other she was in. If you needed something, they were there. They did a good job.

I've talked with my cousins about Schofield Residence Nursing Home as my aunt was there a couple of years ago and they were very pleased with everything they did. My father and I went over to the place and talked with them. We are very happy with the visit. The people that are working there are very pleasant. They seemed to always have a smile on their face and you can tell from the body language that they enjoy being there. They were having lunch when we went to visit, so went to the cafeteria and we saw the place they were serving and the food was very good. They gave us a list with all the activities and everybody is included in the activity, not just the people that are in better shape. We are going to be able to do some voluntary work when we go to visit her, so we are looking forward to that as well.
