Dad has been at Granville Center for a month now. The staff is very good, very friendly, and very helpful. They keep us up-to-date with his care. It is a great place. They have all kinds of activities there. They have bands that come in and play music, they do bingo and chess. Dad's room is double occupancy and it is very nice. He's got his own TV, his own phone, a huge closet, a bed, and a bathroom. It's a very nice setup.

Terrible place. Very little bedside manor with nursing and the doctor does the absolute minimum. My mother suffers daily from severe anxiety and stomach issues. She gets yelled at for trying to go to the bathroom, which she needs to do frequently because of the stomach issues. But she usually waits a long time if she rings a nurse and then it is too late. To my knowledge she never has any tests done on her stomach. She spent several long trips in the hospital with it, yet Indian River never sees fit to have them look at it. Meanwhile, she complains daily. She suffers so much anxiety/angst almost all the time and the doctor seldom even makes a medication adjustment. Even the nurses see the need for more. They seldom call to even tell you she has been sent to the hospital. I called 3 days ago to complain on this and make sure they still had my number only to find out today she fell out of bed by someone else. I was not called. They also had her sign away her healthcare proxy/resuscitation rights when she first went in there and she was in no shape mentally to do so. No family was present to explain to her what what she was signing. Our family is not in a financial position to care for our mother, but anyone who is should think very seriously about sending her to this place. There are no chairs in her room and few to be found to give her relief from sitting in a wheelchair all day. They don't offer her water even though they know how bad her anxiety is and she will seldom ask. Just terrible all the way around.

Indian River Rehab and Nursing Center was an excellent deal with good food, too. The service was good, and everything was nice. The room was excellent and very clean. My mom went to Indian River for six cracked ribs from falling about three months ago.
