My husband was at Elderwood at Grand Island for rehab. It was great. It was better than the other rehab facility he had been in. I was very pleased. It was very clean. There was no hospital kind of smell. The staff was very friendly. They took good care of you. It was very nice. I only had a couple of meals with him. They have a separate area if you're having a meal with a loved one and it's just across from where all the other patients are having dinner with each other. The staff would get the tray of food and give it to them and then they would circulate it around to make sure people were eating and were OK with what they had on their plate. If you wanted something else, you just needed to ask one of the staff who were monitoring the meal and they would get it for you. He was in there for occupational and physical therapy. That's pretty much all he did, and they were fine. He was discharged because he had been continually improving. Whenever he was about to go into a therapy session and I was there, they would ask me if I had any questions or concerns and I didn't. They always did it in a respectful manner, and they were very diligent and professional about how they carried it out.

My father was at Elderwood at Grand Island. Everyone was very nice. They're very helpful in getting approval for the insurance for my father. I really can't think of anything negative. The staff members were all very pleasant, very nice, and very helpful. The building was very clean, very easy to navigate, and very easy to get around.

My dad stayed at Elderwood at Grand Island. If it weren't for the aides, my father would not have gotten any help. It was very difficult to reach a social worker. It was very hard to get him discharged. They didn't have the paperwork in order. My father fell in there, and I don't think it's acceptable that somebody should fall. If it weren't for the aides, I don't believe my father would have made as good a recovery as he did in the 28 days he was there. There were no activities. The facility was very clean. The only complaint I had was with the administrators, and the nurses were very difficult to get in contact with. I had a problem even getting my father out of there. They had a date of the 18th. But they extended his stay because he took a fall, and they still had the wrong date down. The people who were overlooking his medication and his overall health were the nurses, and they weren't to be found. My father said the food was very good. If it was not covered by Medicare, the facility was not worth the price they were charging a resident.

Elderwood at Grand Island was very welcoming and very pretty, and the atmosphere was very clean. It was like walking into a hotel. The staff was very nice and trained very well. They were doing physical therapy with people there. They were nice and pretty busy. They did a beautiful job landscaping the outside. They had a little courtyard with a birdfeeder in it.
