I had to put my mom in nursing home when I lost her caregiver unexpectedly. Within 1 weeks time I was able to get her in long term care. She has dementia which made it difficult to care for her as I worked full time. Heather was very professional and compassionate. This was very difficult for me and emotional. The staff met my mom at the door very welcoming. My mom was happy which made me happy. Everything went so smoothly. I realize now this was the only place for her. My mom is getting along well and is even helpful to other patients. All of this was conveyed to me by Heather and Randi. The whole staff has been in touch with me trying to get me to feel comfortable and asking what makes my mom happy. Thank you also Nicole, Clarissa, Sam, Sharda and Dr. Weissman. This isn't a nursing home it is a community that care about their patients and family members as well. I highly recommend Valley View. Do not hesitate to put your family member here. Thank you.

Valley View Goshen NY is more like an institution than care facility. After visiting loved one it is clear that this place in not for anyone who needs compassion care. Sad and depressing.

I am not sure how to really go about this so i will just tell you the story , My father was in the Hospital for 3 weeks due to a fall I believe that he was doing good and started to get better, we told him he just got to get more strength and be more stable to come home. He left the hospital on a Thursday was evening Friday morning came and he was on the floor less then 24 hours he was there My sister came there to check him where she found him in a wheel chair at the nurse station staring off in space and other resident yell that they had to go to the bathroom and was greeted very rude by a nurse and come to find out another resident fell busted their head open. They never took my dad to hospital to get checked out or anything and the nurse asked to shave my dad and cut his nails my sister replied only a little not to much. Saturday came in morning they shaved him and then he had rehabilitation and he collapse and coded there and ended up pasting away at Orange Regional. I would not put any one you care about in this place it is very dirty, very understaff, nurse don't have good bedside manners and they don't take care of the resident there.. I don't want anyone else getting hurt due to this place of care

They staff when they are there they work but very Understaff during the weekend. There is not communication between the front desk and the nurses. They had an outbreak and informed no one, we only found out because a loved died that same week.

My dad was doing physical therapy at The Valley View before. The place looked filthy, and about 70% of the staff was great while 30% was horrible. The food was fine, although he was on a pureed food diet the entire time. They have an activities calendar for the residents, but they don't announce what happens during the day. I think that the place needs to be cleaned, their social worker should be better-informed, and they should add more staff members, because they're understaffed (as are most places).

The staff was attentive to my mother but we had to move her room six times because the air conditioners were not working and she was having trouble breathing.

Valley View was OK, and they were cordial. They had occupational, physical, and speech therapy that we use. Their medical staff was OK.

I really liked Valley View Center a lot. It's a large place. They had a very nice common area set up almost like a mall. There's a bank and a cafe -- different things that the residents can do either on their own or with their families. The rooms are large with large windows. It's a really nice place. They answered all my questions; they were very informative and helpful.
