My mother stayed in this rehab for few weeks. The physical therapy department did a very good job helping my mother to restore her physical abilities. Thank you Nadya, Natasha, Ed.

Food was not fit for human consumption. A slice of sweet bread was identified as a baked apple. Extremely poor fiber diet, canned fruit & vegetables, fish is regularly undercooked, red meat was more suitable to play handball with. A tiny refrigerator is in each room & Isaac Administrator told me to use it to store my own food if I didn’t like what was served. Staff works hard but is not provided anywhere near adequate supplies or employees.

The nursing home is terrible compare to other NH inc VA NH. The phones on 5E are never picked up. Social worker lies consistently ( Sofia Y). Doctor barely shows up And when patient asks for D/C home ( cheaper for mdcr and for a better choice for patient ) they refuse to cooperate with main family contact so the state has to be contacted or government !

I would never consider Boro Park Rehab Center for anyone. It was terrible. When I would go to see my mother I would have to pass by the nurses' station and they had a big TV on the wall. They'd place about ten to 12 patients in front of that TV and none of them would be looking at it. They would be slobbering, their heads were down, and they didn't seem conscious of the world. I would not want to see my mother in a group like that visible to everybody that comes in. It's degrading to see anybody just slumped in a chair and not doing well enough to pay attention. The nurses were terrible. It was clean enough, but I got turned off immediately when I would see all these older people. I never saw a doctor, and the nurses didn't know anything.

residents are left unattended and uncared for, family members end up taking care of transport, assistance, a medication administration. Food is barely ok. Nursing staff is rude and not accommodating. Doctor staff is nearly never around. When weekends begin (on Friday), no one is around. Center claims to have activities, never brings residents to these activities.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My grandmother was admitted to the recovery unit on at 3W. No one cared for her feelings nor her recovery progress. She was left there in her original cast for 1 month and no one tried to follow up with the doctor to determine when to evaluate her condition for removal. Until we, the family members, requested over and over again for check up. Yet they sent her to the wrong doctor.

When my mother was a resident, we had no issues with staff or quality of care. With my dad, I've seen delays in care, a lack of professionalism in the staff, and a slower recovery and improvement in my father's condition. I think the major problem is not the staff, however. I think it is a lack of staffing causing undue strain on the staff, which is reflected in how residents are treated.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My friend's dad was sent here for recovery after being in the hospital. I liked the location that it was close to Maimonides (across the street). I didn't like the treatment of the staff. My friend kept leaving messages everyday for a week and no response until the 5th day. After the third day they called and left a message only to respond and nothing more. In the end, they only responded because my friend was a doctor. The workers were lazy and clueless, there was an extra something left over from the hospital and this center was supposed to help patients recover and when my friend asked what she was supposed to do with that, they in turn asked her what that was for. The workers are only there for a paycheck, they are unionized and they can care less about what happens with the patients. Getting in touch with the director/manager is near impossible. This place is definitely not recommended. The patients are primarily Jewish but it is nonsectarian. However, it is a secure facility compared to some others. We couldn't get an answer to when it was okay for him to leave this living facility. Nobody was much of any help. Avoid at all costs. He had a feeding tube so can't really comment on quality of food. Terrible service.
