If your parent(s) need assisted living, this is the facility where you want them to be. The staff is so caring and they work very hard to make patients feel comfortable. My mother in-law had a tough time transitioning to the memory care unit and they provided a one on one aid to help her out. It was wonderful. I describe the facility as " a cruise ship on land"! Beautiful rooms, dining areas, and grounds Both of my parents and my mother in -law lived at McHarrie Pointe and then moved over to the skilled nursing area. I am so thankful to have had them at a wonderful place during the later years of their lives.

McHarrie Pointe was a very nice facility with very friendly people. The apartments were homey. The dining area was set up in a quiet and friendly atmosphere. Tables were spaced nicely so that people could congregate and gather. I liked that it was nice and bright. They do exercises, puzzles, and various things during the day. I didn't see a lot of people sitting alone. They all had someone with them. There were some residents in the cafeteria sitting together and talking. The only problem was my mom was on the waiting list there, but it would take about six months to a year, and I didn't have that kind of time.

Everything about McHarrie Pointe was fine. The staff who toured me was very nice, friendly, and informative. They had different activities and a library, scheduled outings, a calendar of events such as little entertainment groups that might come in, and card games.

We are in McHarrie Towne and like the friendliness of the people and the services. The people here are happy. There are over a hundred units, and you don’t hear many complaints. That is unusual with people our age.

McHarrie Pointe was an almost spanking brand new facility. It was gorgeous, beautiful, and just stellar. It's just quite far from my home. The rooms were very spacious, and the grounds were gorgeous. I think my mother could've been happy there, but in terms of the support that she needs, the closer I am, the better.

McHarrie Pointe is close to where he originally lived, and it was recommended by a lot of people. He is only been there for a short time, but so far I'm pleased with everything. The people are treated well in there. It is clean and all brand new. I just liked it.

McHarrie Pointe was the cleanest, nicest and nearest my mom's apartment so we chose it for dad. Everyone was accommodating and helpful. My dad was in the memory care part because he had Alzheimer's Disease and the staff knew how to deal with them. The room was a good-sized room with his own full bathroom and own air conditioning unit. There was room for his bed, dresser, recliner, night table, side table and television stand. It had nice closet and the bathroom had tons of storage. They food was very good. They also offered all kinds of activities and she gave us a calendar for it. It was a very nice facility

I visited my minister there when she got sick and was rehabilitated. I noticed the staff truly appear interested with her well being and so with the other patients. The environment there was warm and seemed like a family feeling around.

I really enjoyed visiting this place due to how friendly everyone was. Many nice volunteers who worked side by side with the patients and helped them with their daily tasks. This place was also very clean and kept up. Out of the many nursing homes I have been too this one was by far my favorate.

Back in November 2005 my grandfather was moved to Syracuse Home Association to live out his final days. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer and his condition was not improving. Since his wife had passed on in 2003, he was living alone and so we felt that the best place for him was at the Syracuse Home Association.Even though we were not able to be by his side all the time, Syracuse Home Association treated him very well and made sure he was always comfortable. They provided him with everything that he needed. Immediately after my grandfather made a request for something, it was immediately granted. I only visited the facility once, but what I saw made me feel assured and not worried at all with my grandfather being in the care of Syracuse Home Association. It is a very clean and positive environment, whether you are just a visitor or a resident. My parents and I no longer live up in New York, but I know if we did and if either one of my parents had to be put in a nursing home facility, without a doubt I would choose Syracuse Home Association for them!
