The rooms are decent, good lighting..however they need to get humidity in the rooms to prevent dry skin, difficulty with sleeping. The staff is outstanding in spite of the fact there is understaffing. The staff is committed to each patient, providing quality care, and genuine kindness. They are very responsive to family concerns, or patient concerns. They had many activities for residents to attend..my mother enjoyed them. Auburn Community Hospital needs to reward the staff for their commitment... it is a true calling and dedication to those they care for. ACH needs to incentivize people to work there. Challenge...Mr. Berlucchi and others get OUT OF YOUR SEATS walk over to FLCL/rehab and watch the quality of care...establish relationships with staff, patients and family...do this at least 3x's a day...you would learn invaluable information to continue the excellence that happens there.

I am a retired physician. When my brother became seriously ill, we decided to place him in this facility. I had heard good reports regarding Finger Lakes Center For Living. Sadly, he had terminal cancer, but I feel certain we chose the best possible facility for him. The care and attention he received was exemplary. My heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff.

I’ve been trying to contact Katie admissions director for few weeks. I have received no return phone calls or messages. Whenever I do call it goes to her voice mail. How can I get my mother in there if I can’t reach anyone to do so????!!!

I have to say, what wonderful care the staff at Fingerlakes center for living is giving my aunt. They are compassionate, kind, loving, gentle with her. They are the best in the Cayuga county in my opinion. I would recommend them to others. The place is very clean. The support towards family from the staff is compassionate, loving. I want to thank everyone who works there for everything you do for the residents, you all are angels in my eyes.

My Mom was a resident of FLCL for 7 months. During her stay, the staff was very caring, loving and compassionate. Of course there are times that someone can't be attended to as quickly as they would like. Nursing homes don't have personal attendants for each resident. I feel the activities personnel encourage all residents to attend the various activities, games, music events, etc. The residents can order from a menu that has a good variety of food choices. Compared to other nursing homes that I have visited, I feel that FLCL deserves a 4 Star rating. To me a 5 Star rating would be if everything was perfect and I think that would be difficult to attain. I would never recommend that a resident be allowed to go to Auburn Community Hospital if they needed hospitalization.

Fingerlakes center for Living is a mediocore nursing home and long term healthcare facility for someone who may have a wide variety of needs. There are two different levels. Stillwater and Interlaken, both are for elderly patients looking for longterm or permanent care. They oversee meds, healthcare, provide healthcare needs, provide mealcare, 24/7 supervision by nursing staff and PCA staff. This facility is connected to Auburn Community Hospital, there are RN's, CNA's, LPN's, PCA's, and other staff members on duty at all times. We will start with staff. Staff can be very tenative, but at times there is not enough members on duty to provide efficient care for all the residents. Staff did seem very compassionate and caring. No medicine errors while my family was staying there. The facility on a clean scale I would rate 7 out of 10. There is not a wide variety of activities for the residents, they watch TV often, play board games, do puzzles, etc. but many residents are only capable of these activities. There is a nice fenced in courtyard with picnic tables and a nice tent. There is security that works at the hospital that comes through quite often. On a 1-5 scale I recommend this facility a 3 star out of 5. There are far worse places, in my opinion most homes are a last resort for family, it is tough taking care of your family and friends when they cannot take care of themselves but I would recommend this facility if the situation arises.
