We have been trying to place our mom in this facility for about 6 weeks. At first the lady my sister spoke with was very nice and helpful. For the last 3 weeks she will not return calls or emails. It only takes a quick email to tell us the status. If this is how potential residents families are treated, how will loved ones be treated?

You can push the call button for hours, they never come. Dont explain meds your taking. when you ask its like your bothering them. You can wait for hours like 8 hours for pain meds. They don't seem to care. I found about 2 people that seemed to sincerely care about the patients. When admin is gone at night and the weekends its a totally different attitude. I would not recommend to send anyone there, rehab or nursing home.

Brakeley Park Center was very clean, it seemed to be well-managed, and the staff was exceptionally kind and attentive. Most of the rooms were semi-private, and the private rooms shared a bathroom with a private room next to it. They use the same staff members as the skilled nursing and rehab center in a separate building, so I think the delivery of service and activities are geared more toward a nursing home than assisted living.

I felt that the rooms were too dark. There was not enough natural light. I felt trapped and depressed. Residents have not sense of purpose. Games and activities distract but don't give one a reason to live. I felt that visiting had caused me to develop a fear of growing old!
