I've been at Gardens At Monroe Healthcare And Rehabilitation for 33 days now. I like the physical therapists. I've never met a group of women who aren't physical therapists. It's such a wonderful job. They are so passionate, and caring, and they give you such motivation. They are unbelievable. They encouraged me every day. I have a half-hour of physical therapy and a half-hour of occupational therapy. Because of them, I'm learning to walk all over again. They're wonderful. I can't say enough about them. As far as the food is concerned, it is good. Currently, I have a roommate, and she's 99 years old, so I've been kind of taking care of her. I got RSV, and so I was put in isolation, and they did a good job. I was the only one in the room. When I was sick for seven days, they came in and they were all wrapped up and geared up so that they wouldn't catch anything. It was really good, and so was the nursing staff. It's just out of this world. It's an older building, and there are things that should be done. But the front office is wonderful. They provided transportation for me to go back to the surgeon to have the stitches taken out. They were really good. For activities, they have bingo probably Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and then they have Yahtzee Tuesdays and Thursdays. They have Catholic services on Sunday, and they have Jewish services on Friday because they're Orthodox. They had a very nice Christmas program, and there was a sing-along. The activities director is awesome. They're very pleasant. I can't say enough about them. I'm over the 21 days that Medicare pays for, but I wasn't ready to go, I think it's worth the money. You get all the services, and you don't have to worry about a thing. They take care of you. They come in and take x-rays and I take the x-ray disc to the surgeon. I get a report every time I have an x-ray. They keep the patient informed, so I like that.

My mother recently stayed at The Gardens at Monroe after a hospitalization for pneumonia. The care was great. The entire staff, from the food services manager to the unit clerk was friendly and helpful. The nurses and therapists went above and beyond to care for Mom and get her well quickly. After discharge The Gardens nurse has followed up mutliple times to see if Mom is okay and make sure she is seeing her doctors for follow up appointments. I would recommend this facility to anyone in the area that wants great care.

Mom has been at Gardens at Monroe for about a week now. The staff there are very nice. They would call me if there's anything going on. So for a week that mom was there, I would recommend the facility.
