My mother spent several years as a resident at Parker at Landing Lane, until she passed peacefully in her sleep. The staff were both competent and caring. They accommodated our special requests, explained my mom's care carefully and thoroughly, and were always patient and attentive with both my mom and with her visitors. Most importantly, they treated my mother with caring and respect. Frequently, when a nurse or aide would pass us in the hallway, she would stop to greet us, hold my mother's hand or give her a little hug, and speak directly to her with affection even though my mom was unable to say anything in return. I will be forever grateful that my mother's last years were spent at Parker, with a staff that made it like a home.

Parker at Stonegate was a very nice community and it's very close to home. So, that would be a nice choice for us, but we can't afford that yet. We looked at the studio and it was wonderful. Everything is convenient. The staff is very caring and knowledgeable. The person who took us through the facility was very responsive to all our questions. The residents all looked happy. They didn't look depressed or anything. It's very nice. I know people moving to Highland Park just to be able to get into Parker at Stonegate. They are looking after their residents and I'm sure nobody is overlooked in the assisted living. They have a pool, a gym, and a park. The place looked very clean and well taken care of. It was a very nice experience overall.

I went to Parker At Stonegate, and that was lovely. I thought Deborah was very knowledgeable, very warm, and runs a good program. The place was very attractive looking. I saw a unit, and it looked nice. At this point in time, the activities were sort of lacking; it was my only negative about it. There weren't so many activities that would be interesting. But I thought it was quite attractive, and the people walking around didn't look unhappy.

My experience at Parker at Stonegate was good. The rooms were very adequate, and the admissions people were professional and knowledgeable. The price was equivalent to other places, and the location wasn't very convenient because it was one of the farthest away from home.

Parker was very nice and less expensive than the other one we visited. I liked everything about the place. The staff was friendly. The place was extremely clean. The menus for all of the meals were extensive, and there were a lot of choices. They had all of the services for medications, showers, and feeding. The rooms were nice and large. I did not meet a lot of the staff, but the staff members we did meet were friendly and very professional.

Everybody was very pleasant and nice during our visit at Parker at Stonegate, but they only offer assisted living, and I need an independent living place. It was also very expensive. I didn’t see many people around conversing with one another.

My father was in rehab and is now at Parker at Landing Lane. The staff certainly seems friendly enough. The thing that I like best about it is that it’s small, so it feels more like family and everybody knows everybody. The location is far for us, but it’s a nice area and easily accessible. The facility itself is clean and always smells clean. I work in many nursing homes and typically when they’re carpeted, they don’t smell so great, but somehow they get the carpets smelling very nice. I’m a little disappointed in the lack of activities since they're mainly just movie time and bingo. I see a little too much sitting around, but that's typical. The food is good.

When they were remodeling the room of my father at Francis E. Parker at Piscataway, they put my father at their facility in New Brunswick and the facility is just as nice as the other one. You couldn't have asked for nicer people. The staff is great. The nurses and the aids, everyone were excellent. They weren't afraid to take time to stop and talk to you either. They have enough people working there and in fact they have a waiting list a mile long for people to work there.

Please note that "Parker at River Road" is a nursing home. "Parker at Stonegate" is the assisted living residence. It is for higher functioning seniors. When health fails, the residents can generally move to the nursing home next door. I toured Stonegate with my parents and was very impressed. One thing I loved was that there are several small "nooks" throughout the residence with card tables. Residents can get together there to play cards or meet with guests. Residents have access to the workout center and swimming pool next door. There is also a daycare facility onsite, and frequent opportunities for the seniors to interact with the young children. I am very familiar with the nursing home. Parker's standards are extremely high throughout their facilities.
