I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father has been a resident of Fellowship Village for more than eight years. First, the facility and grounds are outstanding. Second, the staff is uniformly excellent and the turnover is minimal. As a result, beneficial relationships are formed between staff and the resident and the resident's family. Several staff members have cared for my father for his entire stay. Third, the medical care is excellent. Residents with minor illnesses are not pushed out to the hospital. They are treated on site unless circumstances dictate otherwise. In addition, many tests and x-rays are performed at the facility eliminating the need to travel to a doctor's office or hospital. Lastly, having a loved one at Fellowship Village provides peace of mind for the family and that is priceless.

For over a decade; my mother has been a resident of the Independent and Assisted Living areas of Fellowship. She loves her life there; being cared for in a clean, beautiful environment , with activities abundant, where all staff bend over backwards to know her and to meet her ever changing needs. They are responsive to our concerns and to knowing and caring for her the best way possible. I would never hesitate recommending Fellowship.

Over the last 8 years my mother was a resident of Fellowship Village in both the Independent and Assisted Living communities. Fellowship provided her with a secure , comfortable living area, incredibly delicious food and the opportunity to participate in many, many activities. Most importantly, they cared for mom as if she was family. I was able to sleep at night knowing that mom was in good hands.

My parents lived in independent for about 5 years until they transitioned into assisted living due to their decreasing mobility. That transition was smooth, and they were happy there together until my dad died in July 2023. My biggest concern was how my mom would live and be happy by herself-she had been married 70 years! The staff was wonderful-and she has been very content-despite all the concerns. She loves the activities, and special events. Number one on her activity list is the "Singing for Wellness" group on Monday afternoons, right in her household's living room. She calls me every Monday AM to be sure I am planning to join as well-all family are welcome-and I usually do. Singing all types of songs-songs from the 20s, 30s, and up, Broadway, holiday themed songs-all while led and accompanied on guitar by a very talented musical therapist, Tara, or one of her interns. I have not seen my mom so happy in a long time! She has a bit of forgetfulness, but she and her friends remember every single line of "You are My Sunshine" and "Goodnight, Irene". It is a lovely time to laugh, reminisce and socialize. One of the highlights of my mom"s(and my) week!

My parents lived here for the last 10+ years of their lives, first independently and for my mother's last 1.5 years in the skilled nursing unit. Moving here was one of the best decisions they made both for them and for me and my siblings. Fellowship Village has an amazing staff and facilities, and they work hard to keep members active. My parents LOVED living here and the cherished the friends (both other residents and staff) and community that they developed. On a personal level, I always knew that they were well care for which was especially important for my mother's last years. During that time, I assumed responsibility for my mother's financial and medical decision making, and the Fellowship Village management, staff, and her personal caregivers were easy to work with and always kept me involved.

My mom broke her hip and was at Fellowship for rehab. She had a private room, which helped keep her safe from infections like COVID. Even though my mom is in her 90s, they treated her with determination to get her well again. The staff was very responsive and usually came within minutes of her pushing the call button. Her medications were well managed, which kept her from having additional problems. The food was excellent and very healthy. The rehab was very good and got her back on her feet and home 3 weeks later, which was a pleasant surprise. The facility was well maintained and clean and bright and cheery. Her room was cleaned daily and there was a courtyard for us to easily take her to when the weather was good.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am a resident of Fellowship Village. It is a wonderful place. The surroundings are nice, the people are nice, and the staff is wonderful. We have a nice medical center and we're going to have a new fitness room here. It's going to be a first-class fitness room. We also have physical therapy; they've made that new down there. They're renovating everything here, so everything is bright and beautiful. It's just a beautiful place. I feel very lucky to be here. We have a theater that we see plays in. I'd recommend it to anybody. It's a 72-acre land. When I first came here, I could walk around the whole part. And then they started some buildings, so we couldn't walk around the whole thing. They keep renovating and making it look nice. I'm very proud of this place. I'm very happy with my room. I have a bedroom, a den, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom and a half. To me, this size is fine. They do have houses here that are big; you could have 4000 square feet. They have other cottages that are outside, too. Every time a new person comes in, they renovate the apartment. They're doing the open floor plans now and putting nicer things in bathrooms, tiles, and even the closets. When I came here, it was just the wired shelf. Now they're making wooden ones, so they keep updating. I don't want an open floor plan, I like mine closed, but most people like that open floor, and it does look pretty. You have to pay a fee when you come here. Then you pay a service fee. I also pay a monthly fee besides the fee I paid when I came in here. It covers my room and food, and I have a cleaning lady once a week. If I have any trouble with plumbing or anything, or a light bulb in the ceiling, I call them, and they also change the filters in the home for your air conditioner. I can't ask for anything more. They are trying to get people to do more clubs. I play mahjong, they play bridge, and they have a thing, it's three B's, Bingo, Booze and Bagels, I think. And recently I just attended something where the chef puts on healthy food and he makes something, and then we get a taste of it. They have birthday nights here and special occasions. They have garden clubs, a book club, and we have a wonderful library here. I don't think you could ask for anything more. They put in a new arts and crafts room. They're just fixing up everything. When I first came here, I thought it was lovely the way it was. And then they built this great room, a new reception room. They're going to update the theater, too. We also have a bar called Wilson's Bar. It's an actual bar with tables, and then you could go out on their patio or porch if you want to eat there. I don't know if there's anything better than Fellowship. Some people have a lot of money here, so this doesn't seem like a lot to them. I would say I'm a moderate person and I feel I'm lucky to be here.

I thought the transition from the hospital into Fellowship Village was well coordinated. I like the fact that we had a care meeting with my family who live in different parts of the country. The staff was very polite and friendly. The food choices, presentation and taste were very appealing. The physical and occupational therapy were instrumental in helping me meet my goals to return to my apartment. My experience at Fellowship Village was very positive and I would recommend it to others!

Fellowship did a very professional job of showing me available rooms, introducing me to staff members, showing me the amenities and a list of activities, some of which I was able to observe before admitting my Father to Memory Care

Fellowship Village had been caring for our mother for a few years. Without them we would not have been able to manage her care in her own home. The caring staff members were always bright and cheerful, and our mother enjoyed seeing them. They provided skilled nursing care when she needed it and engaging social activities like concerts and fun seasonal events. With Fellowship Village our family was confident that the caring staff would support our mother's needs discreetly and with dignity.

My wife and I were caregivers for a longtime neighbor who had no relatives in the US. She initially lived in independent living, then assisted living, then spent years in skilled nursing. The entire staff at Fellowship Village is professional, compassionate and caring. The facility design promotes both individual and community living which enhances quality of life. We were always well informed about her condition. The staff was very helpful to us in meeting her needs.

My father in law moved from a large house in Cape Cod, to Fellowship Village Independent Living. He loved his independence and his apartment was large and near everything he was interested in, the gym, swimming pool and dining room. He eventually had to move to Assisted Living in the Memory Care unit where he has 24 hour care and still lives in his own apartment where he has his independence as well as any help he needs. The head of the "household" is wonderful and loves all the residents. She is always talking with the residents, taking care of any of their needs and she is always happy and laughing with the residents. They have become her family!! The nursing assistants and the nurse are there 24/7. We have no worries about the care my father in law is getting, and there are so many activities every day for the residents. They can choose if they want to participate in any of the activities and bus rides. They have all their meals served in a dining room and the food is good!! Any need that my father in law has, they are taking care of it. My father in law is in the best, capable hands in the Memory Care Unit and he is living a wonderful life!! We have him at our house 2 times a week for family dinners, and we visit his apartment on the other days as much as possible. We take him out on the weekends as well. The staff always knows where he is and they are on top of all his care. This is a wonderful place to have your loved ones live if they are in need of this type of living!!

My dad is at Fellowship Village. The proximity to my parents' home is the reason why we chose them. It's a great location. It's new, it looks like a hotel, and it doesn't look like a hospital. It's actually great. The staff are wonderful. I've tried their food, and it's great food. There's a variety. My dad has participated in activities. He likes it very much. The day my father entered, he was in music therapy. There's a communal class, which was great because he was engaging with other people. Even my mother joined him, and it was really nice. He was really into it. I was surprised, because after being in the unit for subacute, he was depressed, and understanding where he was at, it's great. That was a great introduction to his new location. The nursing staff and the attending staff have been phenomenal. They're well-staffed and it's a great facility, that's why I'm keeping him there for a while.

Fellowship Village added meaningful rich years to my father's life. He was hesitant to make the move to independent living but soon discovered it offered more independence not less than staying at home - there was no maintenance to worry about - weather was not an issue and on a daily basis interacted with scores of peers for meals and activities like visits to NY or the shore. When he went to assisted living he preferred it to independent living as he was never alone and found a sense of community. There was also care tailored to his specific needs. Although it was difficult to me to see his physical decline he developed many deep meaningful relationships with the staff and fellow residents who became another family. The love, kindness, dedication of the staff is noteworthy- it's a calling that these angels take seriously. His 7 years at Fellowship Village were not a final chapter as much as another chapter-for him every bit as rich as college years, family years and any other phase. It was the best ever made and that added joyful years to his life in a beautiful setting with great neighbors and friends.

I don't usually write reviews, but I know people really read them when making a decision about care and so I want to share our experience. My mom came to the sub-acute rehab @ Fellowship Village extremely weak and needing intravenous antibiotics and physical therapy. The nurses, therapists and all the staff have been so nice and attentive to her and I see my mom getting stronger everyday. She has a beautiful room and my dad and I love grabbing food in the bistro and walking around the campus when we visit. The community center is beautiful and the grounds are really beautiful too. She is going home this weekend much stronger and more positive than she has been in weeks. Big thank you to the Fellowship Village team!!!

My mother passed recently, and peacefully, in Hospice Care at Fellowship. She started in independent care over 10 years ago and had an incredibly positive experience through the years. Fellowship is truly a family. The residents, administration, staff, and medical workers are caring, empathetic and fun! As expected in this population, there were many bumps in the road, and Fellowship met the needs and often anticipated future concerns. I never had a problem reaching the right person to troubleshoot or help me navigate the issues that can come up when caring for an elderly parent. The new facilities (rooms, dining and theater) are spectacular and were well worth the wait. When I look back, I miss my mother, but I draw comfort knowing she had an exceptional, happy experience at Fellowship.

We first found Fellowship Village when my mom required rehab after a hospital stay in 2019. We were very happy with the facility and staff and the care that she received. Since then my mom was a resident in Assisted Living and subsequently transitioned to Skilled Nursing approximately 2 years ago, where she currently resides. The Household model provides more of a community feel and the facilities are updated and very clean and welcoming. Relative to other facilities that we explored, I felt that Fellowship had the most amenities and on site medical access through its Health Center. The nursing staff is high quality, responsive and has always been very diligent in checking for and caring for any wounds (which my mom is prone to based on her health profile). We've also been very happy with the rest of the staff. They do a good job communicating with families and offering activities for the residents to engage with. Overall, we have been very pleased with the care my mom has received at Fellowship Village during her time there.

Not enough staff in assisted living. My mom was not happy with her stay there and how she was treated. If we had to do this all over again, I know she would have gone elsewhere and we wouldn't have allowed her to spend her entire proceeds from her house sale for lackluster care.

Provider Response

Our commitment to our seniors is to provide the highest level of care and our leadership team is available to address any issues that may arise. While staffing challenges remain an industry wide issue, we have been able to maintain higher than average ratios through aggressive recruiting efforts. In January 2012 our parents researched area CCRCs and began the application process to retire to Fellowship. Sadly, our father passed in April 2012. In July 2012, our mother Frances moved into Fellowship's Independent Living community, where for six years, as a Life Care Resident, she happily enjoyed independence and friendships within a wide array of Enrichment and Volunteer programs/activities, and delighted in dining in Fellowship's Bistro and Terrace Dining Room, and attending theatrical and concert productions in Fellowship's Siemenske Theater. In September 2018, due to increasing cognitive losses, our mom transitioned to Fellowship's Assisted Living community where for the past five years, three moves due to structural renovations, a pandemic, and her progressing dementia, she continues to enjoy (relative) independence while feeling safe and content at Fellowship. Selflessly our mom finds great solace in that she spared my brother and me the burden of "having to make difficult decisions and place her somewhere." Though it has taken me almost eight years to recognize our parents' selfless wisdom, I hope that this review brings peace and grace to adult children whose parents lovingly possess the insight to plan and choose to retire to Fellowship Village. To this day, our mom remembers how content she is living at Fellowship, and my brother and I remain grateful.

My mother moved to a beautiful Continuing Care Retirement Community in her 70’s and she loved it. Now I’m in my 70’s and I decided to follow her example. I visited a few of the local communities and initially decided on a CCRC high-rise nearby. I sold my home and three weeks before my move-in date something didn’t feel right and I realized that a high-rise with elevators, balconies, and busy streets was not for me and I would never be happy living there. The very next day I visited Fellowship Village. As I drove onto the secluded, well-cared-for campus I was immediately struck by the natural beauty and peaceful ambiance of the countryside. That same feeling followed me inside where I was greeted by a warm and welcoming team who was ready to work with me to accommodate my needs. They showed me a darling newly-renovated independent cottage nestled within the pristine landscape, and I immediately fell in love. I had found my new home and it was everything I dreamed of and more. The team worked with me and I was able to move in on my original moving date. It’s been four months now and I feel happy, safe and secure. I’m surrounded by a friendly dedicated staff, welcoming neighbors and so many reminders of the serenity of nature. Best of all, because Fellowship Village is a Continuing Care Community, I know if ever I require a higher level of medical assistance, it is right here on campus and only a few steps away. Thank goodness I followed my intuition and made the right choice to move to Fellowship Village. I can honestly say it feels like home!

My extended family member stayed here for many years and we only have good things to say about Fellowship. She moved through different levels of care based on her needs, created great friendships, and hosted us for visits all the time. She especially loved all the activities and programs Fellowship had to offer.

We moved to Fellowship Village in 2020 and now, in 2022, we are even happier that we made this choice. Life here has everything a person could wish for. We've taken full advantage of the many opportunities to make friends and to become involved in the community. The Management Team is very responsive, the food is great, and the living is carefree. This is truly an environment in which we can fully enjoy our lives.

Mom moved to Fellowship Village in September 2021 and she and our whole family are very happy she made this choice. She has expressed how friendly, patient and helpful the staff are; they know her by name. The support and convenience of services is wonderful. The on site health center, rehab professionals, down to prescriptions delivered to her door are so helpful. Mom has been welcomed by others and made friends, she enjoys the exercise classes and events and takes the shuttle to Sunday Mass. This community has exceeded our expectations expectations.

Absolutely fantastic community! My grandma has been living there for a few months now. I was admittedly worried about her living alone, but it seems as if she is never alone! The staff takes such phenomenal care of her, and the residents have such a strong sense of community that she felt instantly very welcomed. The facilities are amazing too - beyond that, there are so many different activities, events, and ways to get involved. I’ve also joined her for lunch a few times and the food is very impressive - I personally would be happy eating there every day. I feel very lucky that we found this place and it has been so good to my grandma!

We moved my mother from California to the Fellowship Village this summer. My girlfriend's parents had been there for 12 years and were so happy there and she insisted that I go and look at the place, and I am so glad I did. My 90 year old mother has adjusted so well, she has made so many good friends, she loves her apartment, food, concerts, movies, her morning walks. All the staff members are so caring, every one of them. And the nicest part is fellow residents, they are so supportive of each other. It really has brought such a peace of mind to everybody in the family . It really wasn't the nearest facility for me or for my brother, but I checked out many other facilities closer to Manhattan, and decided that Fellowship Village, a non-profit organization that prides in qualifty of care they provide as well as the constantly re-investing to improve the facility for their residents is the place that I trust the most for my mother. I am so grateful to everyone at the Fellowship Village.

Moving my Dad to Fellowship Village was one of the best decisions of my life. The environment at Fellowship is upbeat, positive and energized. My Dad thrived at Fellowship, making more friends than I could possibly keep track of, both with neighbors and associates of Fellowship. The facility is wonderful; the employees are caring and generous with their time and attention to each of the residents. I believe that Fellowship is a truly unique environment what I have and will continue to refer friends, relatives and neighbors to consider as they make their own choices.

My mother has been a resident of Memory Care for over a year now, coming in from the Independent side of Fellowship. Her room is spacious with its own large bathroom. MC has a real home like feel to it, far from the institutional feel of other memory care facilities. The staff is like family, they joke with the residents, knowing their various personalities and I have the sense that they truly enjoy being with the residents. I am also quite impressed by the non-Memory Care staff as well. They know whom your loved one is and show a real concern for their well being. During the current Covid 19 crisis, I felt every measure was being taken to ensure the well being of all the residents and staff. It has given me such peace of mind to know my mother is safe and well cared for.

You can look at facilities all day, every day, but the heart of Fellowship Village is the caring, conscientious, tireless, professional staff. For the last 16 years, my mother has lived in all areas from Independent Living to her current home in Memory Care. I now have my husband, who has advanced dementia, in a room right next to Mom's. Prior to COVID, I would visit several times a week. I can say, unequivocally, the staff treats the residents like whole people who deserve to have their desires met, their fears eased, their appearance appropriate, clean, and comfortable. The staff learns and accommodates the residents likes and dislikes of food, which dining table where the resident is most comfortable, which chair the resident likes in the living room, etc. They know no size fits all! The rooms are spacious and private; the menus are varied and tasty; decorations go up for each holiday; there are parties for residents alone, as well as with families; the Enrichment Staff brings music, art, and discusses current events along with remembering moments in history. Once a week, weather permitting, the residents who are physically able and interested are taken on a nice bus ride. They enjoy those outings! Having two of the most important people in my family at Fellowship Village, I interact with the staff regularly. They are good people!

My husband and I moved here 4 years ago when his health was declining. We had done a lot of research on CCRCs in the region, so we believed that the support he’d receive here would be the best possible. it turned out to be even better—in multiple ways--than we had hoped, right to the end of his life. What I did not expect was that being here would be so good for me. I had hoped to stay in my former home, in my former town, forever. But this is much, much better. FV is a wonderfully welcoming, caring and interesting community to be part of, with lots of activities to choose from (and no pressure to choose any), an excellent staff, beautiful and ample grounds, attractive apartments and really good food.

The residents and staff are extremely friendly and supportive and we enjoy the strong, warm social life in the community. The quality of the food is excellent, with many choices in both the Bistro and formal dining room to meet any taste. It is very helpful to have the nutritional breakdown for entrees when making a choice... and I don't have to clean up after meals! Our new home was completely redone to our taste and we love the spacious rooms. I am a walker and have found great joy in the natural beauty of the paths that wind through farmland and gardens surrounding FSL. We are very excited about the new wonderful Cultural Arts Center and have already attended several events and productions there. The large expansion of the health center, using the household floor plan model, as well as all the amazing interior changes that have been made create a very exciting and vibrant place to live.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has lived at Fellowship Senior Living for 5 years. She moved in as an Independent Living resident, and at the necessary time, transitioned to Assisted Living. The staff at Fellowship has always placed my mother's needs first when making any care decision. The Life Enrichment Coordinator knows my mother well, and will recommend appropriate activities/trips if she has not already signed up to participate. The nursing staff is compassionate and thorough, they know my mother's likes and dislikes, interests and idiosyncrasies. To address another review criticizing the pending move of their loved one to a new room, yes, there have been delays getting the new building completed enough for a certificate of occupancy. With that said, the move took place yesterday. Every staff member was on hand to help execute this difficult task, displaying their typical patience and caring demeanor that I have seen throughout. This newly constructed wing implements the new industry model of residential households. This smaller community will greatly enrich my mother's experience, allowing her to engage more regularly in tasks of daily living. I am grateful for the resources that Fellowship has put into the property to implement this improvement. From the user perspective of a caring family member, I couldn't be happier with my mother's choice to live Fellowship Senior Living.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have a one-bedroom apartment at Fellowship Village. It is a lovely place out in the country. The staff is excellent. I help welcome possible future residents and with the bingo games. The food here varies and is not consistent; sometimes it's great, other times not good. The residents are delightful, friendly, and outgoing. We have a lot of activities and a limo that takes the Catholics to the Catholic Church on Sundays, even though this place is nonsectarian.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Fellowship Village CCRC has assisted living and an excellent rehab facility. It’s a beautiful facility. They have a very good nursing staff and aides. It was a good experience. I just couldn’t get my dad in there because there was no availability since they have a lot of permanent patients there. They have independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, sub-acute rehab, and outpatient rehab. My father was in the sub-acute rehab portion of it.

I visited this facility

Fellowship Village is beautiful. They have everything from independent living to assisted living, health care, dementia care, and housing if you need it. Their food is wonderful, like everything else -- very broad menu, lots of options, and always fresh. The staff is fabulous and very good. There’s a pool and game room, and they take people on trips. They have concerts, programs, and courses residents can take, too.

I visited this facility

I visited Fellowship Village, and it is very nice. All the places are very nice. But I decided more on the basis of not only the largest room than many people get but also on the fact that the other facility is located in an area that I am familiar with and that I have ties adjacent to. It looks very nice, but the location of Fellowship Village is just further away. As far as the facilities are concerned, it was probably just as nice. The location played a great part in where I wanted to go. The facilities offered are very similar, and it is a very nice place, but it is mainly further away in an area that I am not familiar with.

We liked the area of Fellowship Village, but we have not committed yet. I can’t say anything negative about it. We were able to stay there for 3 days and 2 nights. The first night, we ate in a formal dining room where you choose your own menu. It was very nice. The next night was a buffet; it was good. The rooms were fantastic. We loved it. It’s VERY nice, clean, and adequate. The people were very friendly, and the staff were fantastic. They couldn’t be nicer or more pleasant. We will definitely recommend them to others.
