I have a family member who is located in the Alzheimer's Department here at this nursing home. Although I am personally not comfortable with having her at the facility everybody seems very caring, friendly and involved with their patients. One thing I did notice as I visit more and more is that a lot of the LNA'S and nurses know all of the patient's name which is very nice to see. Although I am not there everyday so I don't know everything that takes place but I would appreciate it if more and more people would write reviews

Staff is caring and work very hard to assist residence under some times tough situations with help shortfalls. Work well with staff very help and caring. Rooms are clean. Do the best to keep residents involved with activities

I was on their skilled unit for a few weeks this past fall. The only staff who seemed to care at all was the 11-7 shift. The daytime people don't answer call bells promptly and when they do, they are rude. The afternoon girls are so busy, and so understaffed, they can't help but be in a rush. The worst part, I was there for 2 weeks, washing up with the hand soap in the bathroom because no one brought me soap! I felt like a homeless person in a public washroom! 2 WEEKS WITH NO SOAP!!!! All I had been given was a waterless foam cleanser. It was an 11-7 aid who noticed and got me some soap finally. These place really needs to learn how to take care of people. Basic needs...soap is a basic need.

We are waiting for Medicaid for my dad to be there at Hillsborough County. I like the staff a lot, it was clean and nice. The whole process was good. It has five floors of long term care. They had a lot of different things going on, and it seemed very secure. They also make sure that people get up and get dressed.

on 7/6/2014, I went to take my loved one to an activity program, "pet therapy. and slide show at 10am." well, this program did not happen, and everyone blamed the other person, one staff member said, "I just got back from vacation, I did not know she booked me for this day." so needless to say, nothing was going on that day, just another DULL day. one staff member said , "the boss is off for a couple of weeks, and never told anyone." please have better communication so our family can have something to do, I did tell my mom to make sure she speaks up when the state comes in and asks them questions, I just hope I am there, so I can voice my opinion.

The location is ideal, the campus is located near Manchester, NH, 20 minutes from Concord and about and hour from Boston. Hillsborough County Nursing Home is close to the women's prison, not a selling point, just fact. The nursing staff was very pleasant and appeared qualified, skilled, and caring. The building did not have that 'nursing home smell' which I found comforting. The building appeared clean and sunny. Hillsborough County Nursing Home can house about 300 clients, I think, but probably only had 200 or so when my relative was being cared for there. Hillsborough County Nursing Home never appeared over crowded and the employees never seemed over worked, tired, or under staffed. I imagine the professionalism and caring nature of the staff worked to hid any sort of strain that people in that field must feel. I only have one complaint. Hillsborough County Nursing Home could be cleaner. I hope they work better to avoid any sort of illness/ cold/ flu from spreading which is so easy in a facility such as a nursing home. I would recommend Hillsborough County Nursing Home to friends and relatives.
