We found Havenwood - Heritage Heights for my mother. My mom-in-law was also there. They're the best place I know. They're very polite, very kind, even from service techs to the janitors were very friendly. They were very nice to my mother-in-law, my wife, and myself. That's why I'm trying to get my mother to go in there. My mother-in-law died about three years ago. She was in the apartments and worked her way up into memory care. She ended up with Alzheimer's. From the whole time she was there in the apartments to the memory care area, they were very nice people. I never heard any complaints about the food, especially the ice cream. They had a lot of activities for both the people in the special care units, and the residents. You can travel outside if you want to. They would take you by bus to stores. They're all very expensive. The one thing that I liked about this place is they don't throw you out if you run out of money.

What you can do with Caring
About Havenwood-Heritage Heights in Concord, New Hampshire
Havenwood-Heritage Heights is a vibrant, friendly and unpretentious community where active seniors come to live life to the fullest, leaving the worries of home maintenance and potential future care behind.
Located on over 40 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds each home is on one level - no sky-scrapers here! Everyone has their own yard and can garden to their hearts content. There are miles of paved walking trails and we are just down the road from the Society for the Protection of NH Forests.
We have two campuses located a mile apart. Havenwood, the original campus, hosts independent living, two levels of assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitative services and Memory Lane - our secure dementia unit. Heritage Heights is all independent living with the same services, amenities and access to care, in a more country setting - atop a bluff overlooking the capital city of Concord and a tributary to the Merrimack River.
Both campuses are graced with a multitude of amenities: fitness centers, libraries, dining options, a movie theater, exercise pool, craft rooms, game rooms, an ice cream parlor, and much more. Plus, our extremely active theater groups put on talent shows, radio plays and full blown musicals.
Our best asset by far is the folks who live here! Intelligent, active, caring people who have planned ahead to enjoy their retirement years by selecting a CCRC where the burdens and worries of home ownership and future care needs are off their plate and their focus can be on what they truly love to do. Whatever that may be, it is easy to find other fun people here to do it with. We have a wide variety of activities and amenities to select from. And, as a not-for-profit community, it is truly about the residents here and what they want and need. So, anything is possible, all you have to do is ask.
If you're ready to starting living life to the fullest, give us a call today - we'd love to have you join us!

I went to Havenwood-Heritage Heights. They have apartments all over the place. I would be in the lodge, which is a one-room studio apartment rather than a full apartment. I like the lodge because, in weather like this, you don't have to go out. Like the meals and all the activities, everything, is in the building, so I wouldn't have to go out. Like some of the apartments, you have to go to activities or anything you want to do, and even though they have bus transportation because they have two campuses, you have to go out to go to them. If you're in the lodge, everything is there like the dining room, a little store, the hair salon, and the activities. The staff is all very pleasant. I only met two, the person that I first met when I called for information, and one other person, and they both have been very nice, very helpful, and they always answered my calls. We got a beautiful wreath from my representative for Christmas. It's gorgeous, it's very nice, so I was quite surprised. The place looked well kept. I didnt see anything like layers of dust. It's well kept up. I just have one problem with the room. As you go into the doorway of the studio, the bathroom is right there, it's not closer into the room where you would be sleeping. It just seems the door should be more near your bed or the inside of the room rather than the little entranceway. It would be nice if the bathroom was more inside the room.

Havenwood-Heritage Heights do an outstanding job. They're very, very resident-oriented. Their CEO has been there for quite awhile and he has done a really good job, but their set-up is different. It is more expensive. They have new residences. The cottages are a little smaller than the other facility, but they're very nice. Their grounds are beautiful. They're very accessible to Concord, which is the capital of New Hampshire. There's a lot of stuff that goes on. For the staff that I had contact with, they were very, very helpful. From what I hear, our friend is happy there. My friend is still there. From what I've seen, and this has not been a year, it is very attractive, well kept, and safe. They've torn down a lot of the older cottages, which were small. They've replaced them with larger cottages.

Havenwood-Heritage Heights has a wonderful reputation. They've been in existence over 30 years, so I'm familiar with it. I even have friends who are there right now. The staff was very professional. They do have various kinds of activities for different level of people. There is a variety of rooms, 2-bedroom, some with garages, basement, they have cottages, some are detached, or apartment style. It's very clean and very nice.
