I have lived here for almost 3 years. The rent keeps going up and amenities gaet less. The management company has a D- rating with the BBB.

I live here here. The management has changed and not for the good. Handicap parking is not good. Landscaping is awful.

Stay away from this property! While the on-site staff is very kind and helpful the owners are greedy and unethical. They refuse to fix things properly and basically collect the rent and do nothing to maintain the property.

My mom is at Briston Manor West and the thing I like the most about it is that they have two different levels of independent living. They have smaller apartments on the inner part of the property and then on the outside part of the property are the cottages. They provide game time for them so that anyone who wants to go down and play games can go and their kitchen is stocked so that they can cook if they want to. There's always someone onsite, so if somebody loses their key or forgets their key, there's somebody there that can let them back into their apartments. (I think there might be a slight charge for that, but it's worth it). It's just nice and everyone's friendly. The apartments are clean, they provide transportation to their doctor's appointment or to go shopping, and they are pretty affordable with their pricing. I think they've been great.

My father is in Briston Manor West. The staff was very helpful in showing us the place. It felt like a very welcoming community. There's good support there. They have transportation that can be provided as part of their community. They have some social opportunities like coffee hours and pizza parties and then resources for helping with house cleaning and laundry services. For somebody that's still in an independent situation, that's good. It's providing some support but in an independent living environment. The apartments are well maintained and very clean. It looks like it's going to be a good little community for him. They're all apartments, but they have some in the main building and they have some that they call cottages. They're attached, but they're not in the main building, and they all have their separate entry, so they call them cottages. He's in one of the cottages. The way it's set up is pretty interesting. They've got the main building that's kind of in the middle and they've got these cottage buildings that are surrounding the main building. It's a pretty big place. They must have at least 100 units in this community. They have a library and an exercise room. They don't do meal plans anymore, but they have a big dining room where they do events, whether it's the pizza parties or coffee hour. Occasionally, they'll have people come in and speak on different topics, like using the internet. When they weren't in COVID, they would coordinate activities so they'd go somewhere like take them to the mall or something like that and they have a shuttle so they can just shuttle people around they don't have to necessarily drive. My father still has his own car, and he's got parking right outside his unit. It's independent living, so there's no food service there. He's providing his own food.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I moved my mom into Briston Manor West. She loves it and she doesn't have a problem there. Some parts look older. The interior where they eat could be updated, but that's just my opinion. She's fine there, and she's happy. Everyone is nice there, too. They're all shut down right now because of the pandemic, but prior to that, they were doing bingo on Mondays, coffee hour on Tuesdays, every other Wednesday they would have an activity, then Thursday and Friday is reserved for doctors' appointments or any rides that the people may need. The activities were short, they don't last the day, a half hour or so, and they're done. She partakes in some activities, but now there's nothing going on. They have an interior main building where you can do puzzles and games, and it has a small exercise area with a TV. They used to provide food and that's in the pamphlet, but they stopped doing that because no one was taking the food, no one was ordering it or buying it, so they don't have that any longer. The staff is great. The facility is all interfacing, and it's walkable. They offer more than just a regular place you would rent from. All-in-all, she is happy there. It's like her own little place with neighbors. She just wished there were more activities.

We've been at Briston Manor West for about a week now, and it looks like a good fit. Our room is very well-maintained and seems to be very efficient. The dining area is very pleasant, and so far, the food has been good. The staff is very good and have been prompt so far.

My sister was in Briston Manor in February and part of March. It’s an older building, but they keep it up and clean it. They provide one meal a day. They have a community room where people can go and watch video. They played games; it’s a very nice senior living area. The food is OK and very well prepared. The staff is wonderful, very helpful, and very congenial.

We live in Brinton Manor; it's very nice and we have our own patio. You can eat meals at the other building or have it here. They offer bus rides to your doctor or appointments and they take you shopping three times a week. They have all kinds of activities but I don?t really attend. They have bible studies and trips. The staff is very punctual and attentive.

I visited this facility

My mom and I had toured Briston Manor West and I was very impressed. Though they had only one meal a day and they said it was lunch, some ate their main meal for lunch and ate the soup and salad for dinner. So, all they had to worry about was breakfast. They also had muffins and coffee once a week. I liked that the whole facility was in one level. They had apartment style in the building and they had these little cabins outside. You could have your own little house with a nice size patio at the back. The house and the apartment had the same price. However, in the apartment you would get heat and hot water, while in the house you had to pay your own. They had so many activities and so many great things there for the price. They had a bus that could take them to groceries, shopping and doctor's appointment, which was included in the rent. They had chair exercises, entertainment and movies. If you had your car, they had somebody to clean up your car during winter. It was a little higher class facility and it's in a safe area so it was a nice place to walk. It was unbelievably great. The only reason why we weren't able to choose it was because my mom wanted to be in her home state.
