My father is real happy at Bickford of Omaha - Hickory. The people are really nice and polite, and if anything happens, they call you right away and let you know. They are a little bit pricey, but for the quality of care, it's worth every bit of it. I'm real happy with them. However, sometimes my dad is still hungry after eating, so they need to give him bigger portions.

I was impressed with Bickford of Omaha - Hickory. It seemed to be like a home. The staff seemed to be attentive. It was a much smaller community than the other place, and it was all on one level, and I liked that. They were eating breakfast when I came in, and it seemed like people were happy. It's a small dining area.

I went to Bickford of Omaha - Hickory yesterday. It was a nice place. It's small, which makes it nicer. In my mind, it needs to be small, and it was. It's very well done and very tasteful. I like that they offer a variety of home-cooked meals, and I like the small area, which makes it easier to look after the people that are staying there, and they have activities for them. I know they have them every day and I think they have them pretty much all day long. I went all through the place, and it was nice. The room I saw was under renovation, so there was a lot of stuff laying around. It was not big, but it was big enough for one person, and that's fine. They take care of all their medications. They have a nurse that does that every day, and they have a nurse on staff all the time. I was impressed. The staff was very knowledgeable and very professional.

I did a tour of Bickford of Omaha - Hickory. I like them very well. I got to meet some of the staff. They were very pleasant and showed me around. One of the things that I was impressed with is, they have these wristbands that they wore rather than wearing a pendant. The wristband tracked their movements and stuff, so if anything out of the ordinary happened or what was going on, they could respond to it very quickly. When we were taking the tour, one of the people living there came up and she was kind of crying. The lady that was showing us around hugged her. Of all of them, that was the place I was the most impressed with what happened. The dining area was pleasant. They had the menu up so they could know what was going to be served. The staff made a point of showing me that. The facility was a little darker, to me, a lot of light is important because I think that affects people.

I toured Bickford of Omaha - Hickory and I would say I was very satisfied with the tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and polite and made me feel very comfortable. The space wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. The rooms were a little bit smaller than I was hoping for. I think my mom would need a bit more space. I didn't like that the bedroom and the living room were kind of one combined space. So that was a turn-off for me. I enjoyed the fact that they had a nice sunroom and garden area. I also believe I had a tour of the salon, and it was really cute.

They had a nurse at Bickford of Omaha who would assess what your need was. It seemed to be run pretty well, and it seemed pleasant. I only looked at their small-sized apartment because that is what my mother was interested in and it had more stuff than she wanted. It had all of the kitchen stuff too -- besides just the bedroom -- and enough room to put chairs for guests. It had a large bathroom and a large closet. The people who worked there seemed really nice. I didn’t notice anything that was a problem there. I was just there twice, and in my 2 times being there it seemed fine. I would have had my mother live there, but she didn’t want to go anywhere.

Bickford was wonderful. It was very comfortable -- a very quiet area with beautiful views -- and it was very nice. However, we had to find our own transportation if we have to go to dialysis. The staff was very nice. I really liked her; she was very professional and very comfortable to talk to.

Bickford of Omaha was a smaller unit, but I did not quite like the layout because halls surrounded it. Given that it was a smaller, more family-like setting, I just did not like the layout of the rooms. However, it was still a very nice place with a very nice dining area. The staff I met was very good, very helpful, answered all of my questions, and seemed to be dedicated to the people there.

My mom has been at Bickford Cottage - Hickory for about a month now. Having her placed was a really hard decision for me to make and I was anticipating all sorts of problems. Thankfully, the staff have made the transition as smooth as they could and I absolutely love this place! All the guests are treated with love and compassion, it's clean and elegant, they have very appropriate activities for the guests, I can't say enough good things about it. I looked at a lot of facilities and I'm so glad my mom is here!

We visited Bickford of Omaha – Hickory, and they did a really good job, but it was just too small. We walked around and looked at the rooms, and it was all very nice. We just didn't like it enough. The rooms were spacious, and the girl that took us around was very qualified and very nice.

He was at Bickford of Omaha for two years. It was just assisted living, and there was no memory care per se. The place was very clean. They were willing to work with him because he did have memory care issues. That's why he was there for so long because it worked out pretty well. It was also a good location for him too in Omaha. It was a very nice facility. It was very clean. They had good food. The place was very suited to residents who did not have a lot of care issues.

Bickford is closely located to my brother's house so that made it convenient for him to be able to stop over and visit our stepmother. It only has about 40 or 50 clients, so it's not really big and not really overwhelming. She wouldn't have to walk to get from one place to another. She has trouble walking so we went with a smaller facility. We were really impressed with the staff, how they interacted with the clients and the family. Since she has been in there, they've been excellent. They have different levels of care including a memory unit. It's important to us because she has early Alzheimer's. The price was competitive, too. So far we've been really happy with it.

The Bickford Senior Living facility has been under renovation and it definitely shows. The new facility is absolutely gorgeous and clean, providing more room and available space for residents and staff members. My aunt came in during the renovation but we almost didn't realize it was happening because they were so professional and quiet about everything. The facility is family-oriented and encourages members to invite family along for group activities and field trips. The homes are generally cleaned in the afternoon when residents are out enjoying the day, and the meals are prepared in style of short-order, meaning that each resident can eat what they want that day. It promotes self reliance and provides a happy, healthy environment for everyone involved. The Bickford has a theme of "family trees" and once residents join they are asked to fill out a leaf and put it up on the mural out front, showing that they are part of a big family. My aunt is treated like royalty and I couldn't be more impressed with how the facility handles things. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and cheerful. My aunt has actually made friends with one of the ladies there, Janice, and considers her part of the family now. I enjoy my visits to the Bickford.
