I am currently at Hillcrest Health & Rehab. It's just been excellent. The nurses have all been right on top of everything, and the cleaning crew keeps everything really nice and clean. I would recommend it to anyone. The food was not always the best in the world. The upkeep was top-notch. It's awesome.

Room smelled of urine all the time. Would not put CPAP on patient. Left patient in a bad with dry and wet urine. I had to change his bed and when asked for clean sheets they sent in a bath sheet only. Aid stepped over dirty laundry 4 times so I to the wet sheets to the nurses station and threw on the floor when I left. After filing a complaint I received phone call patient would be discharged that week. Very unprofessional. Complaint was filed with RN and with the Director with no improvement. Do not take family or friends here. Not safe fir patients. I hate to demand patient be check for UTI several times before doctor got involved. Patient was near to having spesis.

Terribly understaffed and not at all competent. My mother-in-law went nearly two days without her insulin because 'the nurse didn't have orders for it.' Without my wife asking about it (which seemed to anger the nurse/tech, mother-in-law would have a diabetic crisis. Blood sugar was 412 on the second day before they finally provided her meal tim insulin. The place is a typical medical money grab scam and should be closely investigated by the state. We DO NOT reccomend this facility for any reason.

Rooms are in dire need of a remodel. Plumbing in the rooms absolutely disgusting. Some of the staff is friendly, some never speak. My complaint is not with the activities. They truly engage with their patients and encourage them to participate in the daily activities which was key for my loved one that spent months there. My complaint with this place I was with the cleaning crew, some of the nurses, some of the cna’s, food service/dietitians and the laundry department. My family member was there for a significant stay. The rehabilitation for my family member was very good. I sat thru several sessions and they worked with my family member with care and patience. The cleaning crew borders between awful and horrible. Food spilled on my family members carpet for more than a couple of days and I had to call to get it cleaned. His wheelchair with food that had been on there for more than a day or two. His tray with old hardened food on it when when feeding himself he dropped food. The laundry facilities are either overwhelmed, overworked or just don’t care. Clothes in his closet were not his or clothes that was his missing even tho his name was in there. Blankets and throws missing causing me to have to search rooms next or near his for his blankets!! Even tho I had sent a note to the social worker with a response it would be taken care of, many times I feel it fell on deaf ears. It’s glaring obvious that the nursing staff is either overwhelmed, overworked or doing the minimal to get by. My family member was stroke victim. Unable to get to the restroom alone. He wore diapers. As undignified that is, asking to be put on the toilet because you need to go to the bathroom , falls a very large majority of the time on deaf ears. My family member had an ongoing extremely large chapping/sores from sitting in their own feces or urine. Upon me asking for my family member to be put on the toilet I was barked back, he’s pooped already today. People do have bowel movements more than once a day. Clearly, they didn’t want to take the time to get him out of his wheel chair and on to the toilet and wait for them to get done. Some nurses/cna’s standing around talking/visiting with each other when they could be attending the residents doing anything. How hard is it to ask.. is there something I can get for you or do for you? Last.. the price per month there is pretty pricey. Not very often when visiting did I see beef being offered for lunches or dinner. Chicken quite often. Tuna sandwiches?? I expected more. When we picked this place for our family member, the rating was 5 star. This definitely is not a 5 star facility. In addition, my family member became sick while there. So sick he needed to go to the hospital. He waited 12 hours to be transported. Being elderly that was the start of his decline, and he ended up passing. This facility is a for profit facility and it’s easy to see that is the case. I suggest if your looking for a place to put your love one especially for long term care, look elsewhere.. not here.

The staff is the best. Everyone says "Hi". PT and OT are off the charts "Great". The Administrator, Maintenace, Food staff, Cna's, Nurses, Nurse Practitioner and everyone else are great. No one will tell you "that is not my patient". They all help. The only down side is no lemons in the water up front and the popcorn machine in the Coke room is gone. Also 2 great breakfast sandwiches, a bagel and 4 drinks for $12. Are you kidding me? One more thing. The Easter Bunny today and the pets they bring around. really liven up the place. They deserve 10 stars.

My dad was in Hillcrest Health & Rehab. Their staff was excellent and the facility itself was older. It was clean, it just was kind of depressing, I understand the colors, it's just the wear and tear. But the staff itself and the treatment he received were excellent. The nurses were very receptive and they were aware of what he needed and made sure he got it, they always answered my questions when I asked. The food was ok, he ate it. There just wasn't a lot of variety, which is not surprising in a skilled nursing facility. He had about 4 to 5 items he could look at every day. It's just when you're there 20 days and you see the same 4-5 items for the whole time, that's the only thing I had to say about that, but it was good food. He did OT and PT twice a week, and there was a puzzle set out on a table, that was about the only activity I saw. Everything in the facility was well-ordered.

It is so hard to breakdown all the problems and inadequacies in professional and caring commitment I received (I only got out two days ago). The previous comments on nursing lights, changing beds, etc are very true. The aids were terrible. I asked for pain medicine and waited two hours. Called front to complain and the nurse and aid ended up in my. The problem was the aid didn't tell the nurse I asked for pain medication - "She Forgot" to let the nurse know this which caused the nurse getting her behind chewed out for not getting the medication. It wasn't the nurse but the aid who made the mistake. The aids make the nurses look bad. There is no encouragement to socialize with other patients. I will say that the meals were wonderful. The chief made yummy specials at night. Of course, the aids never got the orders right. Forgot drink, silverware, etc. I was told if you don't want to die stay away from Hillcrest. From personal experience that is a true statement. I can't believe they are still funded my Medicare - or are they running the facility as Medicare calls an Award Winning Facility.

My mother in law fell and broke her ankle her care and therapy at Hillcrest was excellent. She is now in the memory unit and they are doing an excellent job of taking care of her. She is doing amazingly well. She is getting all of her needs met and then some. Plus they have tons of activities - planting flowers, coloring, bead work, playing cards, out of facility adventures such as going for a drive and ice cream just to name a few and they encourage the residents to get involved. They make get her meals, do her cleaning, laundry , take care of her bathing and anything else she needs. The rooms are small but large enough to accomodate 2 big chairs, a table and chair, small hutch, bed, nightstand and they have a large closet and they have a large window which is awesome. The staff is caring, kind and considerate of all the residents. the know what the residents need, know where the resident is and are constantly communicating with them. We could not ask for better!

My mom was excited to get out of the hospital and go somewhere else more comfortable. She is begging to go back to the hospital after being at Hillcrest. The nurses are not friendly and have no compassion towards the patients. When she pushes the call button, they finally come in an hour later and walk in and say “ what now”. She has been there for a month and they have not given her a bath. They just wipe her down with a wash cloth in bed. They just leave her in the bed and never put her in a chair, so she’s in a lot of pain. I’m not sure how this place is still open. She has gotten worse instead of better being there.

This place looks great but it’s not worth the money it costs. My 90 yo mother is here for rehab for broken ribs. She lives with me and has Parkinson’s. I’m about ready to take her home and get in home therapy for her. Food is cold, room is left messy, toilets aren’t flushed. She finally got a shower after almost being here a week. Not sure if there understaffed but she pushes her botton and waits forever. But if we’re here they’ll come in right away.

Staff got defensive when we politely asked questions about my mom's care. Her bathroom was filthy, things not put away or clean, food late and cold, things left at front desk to take to room were left forgotten, wouldn't give her a bath except for a sponge bath...no good explanation why. Most concerning was the bruises..moved to new facility and suddenly bruising goes away. She complained that they were very rough and we could see evidence. Staff very unhelpful and never provided what they agreed to. VERY DISAPPOINTED when this is your loved one reaching end of life and they are helpless.

Horrible experience - I took father home after 3 days. I could only look thru window to see him and noticed clothes were not changed and bags transferred from hospital and what i dropped off where just left sitting in corner and not unpacked for my father. He did not have access to any of his personal items. I had to ask several times for them to unpack for him. Mattress on bed was inflated to help with sores and skin and there was no sheet on it. He was asking me to get him out and from what I was just seeing from window, I could see why. Decided to bring him home and get in home care. When I got him home, his torso was covered with some kind of rash. Don't go there..

Nice looking place but not worth the high fee. Food sits in nurses station until someone decides to go in and get it, always cold when gets to resident. A beautiful dining room sits empty everyday for all 3 meals, residents have to eat in their rooms. Food is often salty and spicy, odd for old people with heart issues. Same menu forever, never changes. Family member left in same clothes for days without changing. Family complains regularly, it improves for a few weeks, but then back to the same old clothes days in a row. Staff insist on a day and time for showers but then don't follow thru, maybe several weeks before they get one. Not enough staff to actually give showers on schedule. No activities for the residents, except exercise class 1x/day and mass. No craft days, no baking cookies or anything else. After calling ahead and talking face to face with staff about being ready for Dr. appts etc., resident still not ready for pickup, so late to appts. Staff is friendly and tries to do their job but the techs and LPN/RN's on the wings are way over worked, too many residents for the number of staff, staff can't perform well or give enough attention to the residents when they have 5 other calls going at the same time. Way too many managerial RN's who sit in their offices and not enough nurses/techs in the wings that do the real work.

Don’t expect the social worker to help you much. Had more and better OT and PT when I got home. They had some good staff and some bad. Did not answer lights/nurse calls promptly. Allowed me to fall out of wheelchair from inattention. Accuse patients of things before checking out sources. On hold to order food for several minutes. Laid in dirty sheets. They tell you what you want to hear than do what they want to do when you are there. If you can find somewhere else. Rooms where old and did not have good wheelchair thresholds.

DO NOT admit your loved one into this facility. The staff is less than qualified and it comes from the management. Patients have their items stolen, they are left in their soiled beds for days, staff treats patients like they are dogs and not one person is willing to help. When I arrived with flowers, a tech handed me surgical scissors from a drawer to cut the stems! So unsanitary. One patient was left in a cold whirlpool for 2 hours before a concerned visitor mentioned something. My family member was thrown into a chair and left on the toilet for over 20 minutes and had several infections during the stay. AVOID THIS PLACE! IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!

The rooms are extremely clean as well as comfortable. The beds are made each day with clean linen. I would rate the staff a strong 10. From the cleaning staff all the way up to the director, nurses, everyone has high standards, ethic's, and the care for the patients is phenomenal. The facility has excellent activities for the patients. The harmony between the nurses and aides is beautiful to watch. The supervisor's have made sure that it is ran like a fine tuned machine. Cynthia, Renata, Ruth, all have made sure that the staff is sure to make the patients first and fore most. Nicole, Danie, Aiada, Muler, pierre, too many to mention. This is my 1st time in a facility like this. They all have made this home to me. Hands down this facility is outstanding! My roommate was lucky enough to have his wife by his side the entire time he was here. The staff made sure she was taken care of just as if she was a patient. If you want a loved one to be in a safe enviroment and well taken care of, this is the place. Great job Hillcrest! Thank you!

My mom moved into Hillcrest Health & Rehab and it is very nice. There are a lot of nurses who care for the patients. The place is laid out nicely because there are no stairs anywhere. It's just a flat area. They have gamer rooms, a library, and a snack bar. The staff seems to be good. Right now, my mom is getting physical and occupational therapy four times a day. I haven't had any problems.

How do I mark for a negative star? It took forever to get an appointment scheduled. When I did get scheduled, they wanted me 15 min early for paperwork, all three pages. Then I waited for an hour while others went in and came out very efficiently. After an hour, I checked with the receptionist only to be told 10 minutes later that she wasn't there.

If I could give it no stars I would. I stayed there after having joint replacement surgery. The PT was a joke. I got 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the afternoon using a step machine. If I pushed the button for help in my room it took them an hour to respond. The food was so-so. Most of the time they had run out of things like cereal, fruit, cookies, etc. One time I ordered a Chef's salad and they did not have any of the ingredients to make it including lettuce. There were things on the menu that they had not had for over 6 months. I was there for 5 days and was finally asked if I would like a shower. They never cleaned my room or changed the sheets on the bed. I was given one glass of ice water in the morning and then ignored the rest of the day. I would ask them for more and they said they would get it later. I ended up having to be put back in the hospital for severe dehydration. This was after me telling them something was wrong, I was dizzy and did not feel good. They let me sit in my room for 3 days before they finally said I needed to go to the hospital. I ended up in the hospital for 3 days. I would not suggest this place to my worse enemy. I went home and went to PT at a different place and got more PT in one session than I had had the entire time I was at this place.

Hillcrest was nice enough for my two-week stay. The people were personable, but I didn't think they had enough help. There wasn't a lot of staff coming in. I had to wait for quite a while. The rooms were not modern but were very nice and very clean. They did not have enough close parking for handicapped. To me, it was very nice and very accessible. The therapy center was a little old, but it was a good experience.

Hillcrest Health Services is more modern, and everything was good. The food and the service were really good. They take people to their doctors' appointments with a shuttle.

My mother stayed at Hillcrest. The amenities were impeccable. It was like a five-star hotel. The staff was very nice, and they gave excellent care to her. The only thing that they could have improved on was their communication with me as her caregiver. Sometimes she is forgetful as she ages, and the staff relied on her to tell me what was going on. She wouldn't always give me correct information because she might not necessarily have understood. However, overall, I would recommend it. They had really good food, and their dining room had very nice accommodations. She usually ate in her room, and they let her. They were very accommodating. They even let us use a common area for her birthday.

Hillcrest is a nice place. Initially, the building was a big motel so his room was fairly new but plain. He was there for six weeks for rehab because of a bad knee, but he didn’t actually walk on that knee again. The rehab staff doesn’t know what they’re doing.

Mom is currently at Hillcrest Health & Rehab because she needs fulltime care. The staff seemed very caring, and so far they have a very good attitude. It's a brand new facility in a cottage style where they have a lunch room and a living room in the middle, then the apartments are all around it, and she has fulltime care. Mom likes it a lot. With their activities, she is unable to use most of them, but they do have them available every day. They have games going on all the time. One thing I can suggest for them is that they should make sure that the televisions that they put in their rooms are all working.

I like the rehab people at Hillcrest Health Services. I was in a small room, and it is on the end, so I was one of the last one to get service in the morning. The food was repetitious, and I have gone through the menu several times. The food was good; there just weren't a whole lot of choices. They have activities like bingo and flower arranging, but I just didn't participate in a lot of them. The place is very clean. When a person is on oxygen, they were very careless on where they put the nosepiece. A lot of times it was on the floor. That can be improved. They need more help than what they had when I was there.

My mom was at Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation. The doctors put her in there. The staff and everybody were friendly. They have enough amenities there for the patients, the people staying, and the people visiting. The rooms were good. They have plenty of dining rooms. They're pretty fancy. Regarding security, they have cameras and individuals there around the clock. Also they have a movie room, a piano room, and a place where the elderly get together and just mingle.

We have my father in Hillcrest. The biggest thing is the transition that we have. We can transition him from one area to the other smoothly. It is a very nice facility, and once we will transition him to the assisted living, it is really transparent. We just have to move him in, and there is no other paper work as we are already in their system. The food has been very good for him. They have a chef on the site. They don't mass produce, they make something for each person, and my dad really likes the area. Everything that we have been through so far has been really up to par, and we have been satisfied with everything.

Hillcrest has a very good reputation, but our experience was not a very good one. If you are not able to be with your loved one most of the time or if they require more care than just PT (the physical therapists appeared to be very good), do not use this rehab facility. We also had a very difficult time with one of their social workers who was discourteous (even rude at times) and extremely indifferent to the situation. Needless to say we decided, not the Hillcrest personnel, that our loved one needed emergency care and we drove her to the ER where she was promptly admitted.

I had read some of the reviews about Hillcrest Care Center Nursing Home. If had read them first, I will never put my mom there. She went there for rehab because she had been out of the hospital due to pneumonia and bronchitis, but she got worse and worse. She never got good again. Their rehab part, I had no complaint with. But the nursing part of it was nasty. I can't say all of them, but most of them were totally unprofessional. On the third shift, my mother laid on a wet bed for hours. They day shift nurse came in and found her like that and reported it to her boss. My mom had a hard time swallowing her medicine and one night, she was sitting at the supper table and they had given her the medicine and they didn't even made sure that she'd taken it because she spitted it out on the table at supper in front of my sister. We don't even know what her dosage was or what she was getting for dosages. My sister and I were there every day and the reason why we put her there was because it was close to homes and our jobs and mom was there for about four months. We had four meeting with them and it was horrible. We had a final discussion with the guy and I already had a list of nursing home we would her in one of them and I told them her money will be spent anywhere it doesn't have to be there. We did it for convenience, but if they were not going to take care of her and that was our fourth time in meeting with them, there would never be a fifth.
