Renaissance Senior Care was willing to take mom after the previous place had her admitted to behavioral health. The staff seemed to be very caring and responsive when we did our tour. The community was small and seemed very much like a home rather than an institution. She has her own room, her own furniture, and whatnot, so she doesn't have to deal with a roommate all the time. Those were some of the factors that we looked at to choose this one. I know that they have several locations there. When we were trying to visit her over the holidays, we used the Map app and ended up at the wrong location. This is the one up near the hospital area, a few blocks from St. Peter's Hospital. My mom moved in right after Thanksgiving. It's an assisted living facility. We would like to get her eventually into a memory care facility, but this is a good level of care for her for now. She hasn't been there very long, but I can say that the staff is very personable. She seems to like it there for the most part and they are very understanding of her challenges. I haven't interacted with the staff a lot since I'm here in Seattle, but the ones that I did meet seemed very friendly and professional, and know what they're doing. They seem to have activities available beyond just watching TV. They have various things going on throughout the week. I can't give a bullet list but I know she is not bored there. It's a very comfortable facility and it's equipped for what my mom needs. It has a very residential feeling but it still has the ramps, the walk-in tub, and other things that folks who are in an assisted living environment need. Of course, one would always like to pay less but we understand that senior living has a cost to it and this was one of the less expensive options. Even though we haven't gone to the point where we need to pay with Medicaid yet, they were amenable to doing that after she qualifies for it so that was a comfort to us.

My mom has been at Helena – Saddle Drive for over a year now. It is a good price, and they are very good to her. It is very small, hospice is involved, it is clean, and they are very caring. They do have activities, but she is not participating. Every time I’ve been there, the food has been very good. I am extremely satisfied with their services.
