I stayed at Tri-county Care Center in Vandalia for nearly a month. I chose it for myself because my son lives nearby and I wanted to be close to him. It's a full-care nursing home. What I liked the least about it is that it's a little bit antique and it's getting old. You can see that in some of the furniture and stuff like that. What I liked the best was they were just very friendly and just small-town, caring people. They were having some trouble with keeping enough people but mostly, they're pretty good. The food was tasty and they made sure that you ate it. They had some activities but not a lot. They had a salon and a therapy room. The therapists were very good. There was recreation and a TV too.

My mother has been there since June 2021. She has the best care. The nurses are very friendly and helpful. Some of the nurses I have known for years. Others I have not, but couldn’t ask for better care. Mom just sits in her room, they come get her to do activities and socialize. The residents are very good to each other, they visit with each other. They all seem very happy. The administration is also very caring. They always have time for you when you have a question. Kathy the one that does insurance is very helper trying to get insurance going. We have been told there is a nursing home in Mexico that is cheaper but I couldn’t see mom everyday. The cleaning staff is very good also. They visit with the residents make sure they don’t need anything. Laundry they are on top of it. They send it off in morning and it’s back by evening .

I LIVE IN MICHIGAN, BUT MY MOTHER, FLORENCE HAS BEEN A RESIDENT AT TRI-COUNTY FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS (POSSIBLY MORE.) FIRST, IT WAS HER AND DAD, BUT IN 2011, HE PASSED AWAY, SO SINCE THEN, IT'S JUST BEEN HER. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GO TO MISSOURI AND VISIT MOM, DUE TO MY HEALTH, SO I DO REALLY MISS HER. HAVEN'T SEEN HER SINCE DAD'S FUNERAL IN DEC 2011. I CALL AS FREQUENTLY AS I CAN EMOTIONALLY HANDLE IT. TODAY (02/12) WHEN I CALLED, I WAS TOLD SHE DOESN'T VERBALIZE MUCH ANYMORE, AND SHE DIDN'T AT ALL TODAY. THAT'S SO SAD AND HEARTBREAKING FOR ME. THE STAFF OF TRI-COUNTY WERE AS NICE TODAY AS THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TO ME ON THE PHONE. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MOM'S CARE! TRI-COUNTY IS THE BEST PLACE FOR HER. THANKS TO THE STAFF (SOME ARE RELATIVES) FOR TAKING GOOD CARE OF MOM!!! LOVE , CHAR YAKE

Tri-County is very community based. Most of the residents know each other and the staff is local. The community is involved with activities and there are families visiting every day. They take pride in the care of the patients and the facility.

This center offer rehab, a nursing home, apartments for assisted living, I have found them extremely helpful in the care of loved ones and to their needs and the needs of the family members. They offer a valuable service to the community and residents. Many of the care giving are from the area and known for their good service.

My father was in this facility for 2 1/2 years. We were pleased with the care he received. My mother went on a daily basis, so not sure if that is why his care was so good, or if all patients were treated this good. The local prison, had a contract to hire prisoners as aids. These young women were the best help, so caring, and gentle with my father. I am glad they were given the chance to prove them selves, in a positive way.
