My aunt is in Field Pointe. It's a brand-new facility. She's in the memory care section. It's a very nice place. It has good and caring staff. They have plenty of room for more people right now. The assisted living portion is 30 units and they only have 14 or 15 people in it right now. Memory care is 15 units and they only have three or four people in that right now. The rooms look like apartments. They have a private entrance. She has a studio apartment and it's partially furnished. It has a bed, dresser, and a chair. It has a rather large bathroom and a rather large walk-in closet. The staff is very friendly and caring. My aunt says that the food is good. I expected her to complain about the food, but apparently the chef there is pretty good. The dining area looks like an upscale restaurant and it has cloth napkins. It's not the cheapest place that we looked at, but they pushed all the right buttons. Americare will help with getting Medicaid once the funds run out. They have skilled nursing facilities in other places and they pretty much have a place should my aunt's condition deteriorate and she needs skilled nursing. They have lots of activities. They play bingo cards and they had a Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras type celebration. They have a Facebook presence and I can look at what they're doing. They have a fitness room, a movie theater, and a salon. They don't charge for manicures, but they charge for haircuts. It's brand new and I met the maintenance fellow. He seemed to know what he was doing, and he got her pictures on the wall and it looked very nice. It's the best facility I've ever been to.

Field Pointe Senior Living is brand new. It's impeccably clean, and the staff was very helpful. I liked that they have a progression of services and amenities offered. The rooms were spacious and very clean.

I've been to Field Pointe Senior Living 4 or 5 times now. I took my parents there, my sister and then my wife. Everybody has agreed on it for my parents because it's new and nice. We saw their assisted living but they also have independent living and memory care. I liked it because it's new, clean, and it's all on one level and one floor. It also has easy access to the outside with a lot of nice patio furniture to sit in. The room we picked was nice. We went with the 1-bedroom instead of the studio for my parents. It was decided that we will get the 1-bedroom, even though it was more expensive because it was better suited for them. It looked like they've kept everything up nicely. Everything's still in place. It's just a little over a year old, so everything is pretty much new. It's clean and the staff was all nice too. They have an activity room and there were a couple of women back there putting puzzles together. They've got a library too. They have a posted list of activities each day for people to join in. They also take trips on the bus. They go shopping or to Walmart or wherever, one day a week. There's a men's group too that goes places once a month or something like that. The dining area was nice. We ate lunch there and the food was really good. They said that there are always snacks and beverages out all the time for the residents. If you didn't like something that was on the menu and their special that day, they'd fix you up with an alternative menu. The food was good and they gave plenty of it.

My father has moved into Field Pointe Senior Living. The location is good. The size of the unit suits his needs. The kitchen is a full-size kitchen with granite countertops. It's well-appointed and he's comfortable there. The staff members have been very, very good. They're very attentive to him. They got a new cook at the facility. They get two meals a day, so they'll bring it to him. The staff came down and met him personally and just introduced herself. It's just things like that, they get to know their people there. I have the manager's phone number, and she said, "Text me if you have any problems and questions," so they've just been very, very good to him. He told me the other day when the new cook came down, he said she made fried chicken and that it's real fried chicken, and he said it was very good, so he was pretty excited about that. The facility is just really super nice. It's got a screened-in back porch for him. The kitchen is a full kitchen, there's washer and dryer, and high ceilings. It just feels very spacious. It's not a big unit, it's a little under a thousand square feet, but it feels bigger than it is. Everything's very nice and kept very nice. They have housekeeping come in once a week. They have a clubhouse up there, and they have an activity planner. My father hasn't participated in any of those because he's been kind of sick since we moved him in. He had RSV and he hadn't really participated in a whole lot and it's really cold, so he hasn't gone up there and done anything. But I know they have weekly activities, kind of what the residents want to do. Since this is the independent side and people can come and go as they please, it's really up to the residents to decide what they want to do. The staff have been great. The value for money is a five, especially since it will stay at the same price if he has to move into assisted. We can try to keep him in the same place without moving them all around.
