I visited St. Clair Nursing Center to tour their nursing home for my husband. It's an older building that had a little bit of an odor although not that bad. It was pretty clean, too. The staff who assisted me during the tour weren't really friendly. They answered my questions but they had to put us on a very long waiting list and didn't give much of a positive attitude at all. It was a little discouraging when I talked to them.

St. Clair Nursing Center, skilled nursing by Americare was fantastic. They just didn't have a bed available. The staff answered all my questions. They gave me a great tour. I was impressed with it. They had shared and private rooms. It was homey. They showed me the dining room, which was very nice. They had a courtyard out back. The place was updated. I think it's been there forever.

My father is in St. Clair Nursing Center. I've seen him through a window. He has been there since the end of May. He's in a shared room, but he's been moved several times because of the COVID, and it's more to me a hospital type. It has a hospital bed with a table next to it. There is a garden area or patio area, but we're not allowed in there. Sometimes it's been baffling, we never seem to talk to the same nurse because the shifts are always different, we've been having a lot of trouble with his clothes, we always seem to be bringing him clothes, and don't know where it goes.

I had a friend who was a resident for over 2 years. There is a very high turnover with the CNA's and very little one on one time spent with residents. I have seen a lot of cut backs in the last 6 months. Very cold atmosphere with management. I do not recommend this facility for anyone.

Mother was only transported from Mercy Hospital, and she was only there for a day-and-a-half. It’s a little bit early, but so far everyone has been very concerned and nice to us. The sanitation is very nice, clean, and well-kept. There was no nursing home kind of smell, not at all. The staff is very nice, responsive, and expert. We felt lucky to get placed at the St. Clair Nursing Center and double lucky because I went down and checked it out before mom came. I took a tour and talked to the administrator. It was our first choice because of the proximity to me.
