My dad was a resident of Aurora Health and Rehab. What I like best is the staff. The staff is amazing. Their physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy are all wonderful. The CNA and all the people who work there do a great job. I had some of their meals. My dad's room was big. I like the size of his room. It was good to maneuver around, and the bathroom was a good size. The paint, the way the room looked itself needs a little bit of remodeling. It was just not a pretty room, a little bit depressing. I think they do a great job of rehab, but it's a little bit expensive.

What I like best about Rolla Health and Rehabilitation Suites is that it's close to Mom's home. She's in a large, spacious room and they have excellent physical therapy. She's in the rehab part of it. The nursing home part is an older wing, and they have like two people in a room. It looks and smells like a nursing home. The rehab part is newer and the room is bigger and well lit. The food is often late. Mom's food arrived cold most of the time and they have forgotten her a couple of times where she didn't get her food. Many of the daytime staff are very good. We've had some problems with weekends and evenings/overnight staff sometimes. My mom is pretty sharp in her mind, so she can say something like she got woken up at two in the morning and they said, "I'm here to give you your medicine." and they poured the little cup of pills into her mouth without setting her up. They immediately walked out of the room and she felt like she could have choked on those pills and there would have been nobody there. They have bingo and they've had people come in for music. They're like volunteers. They have a rehab room with equipment for physical therapy, but they only have one main activity room and they have a happy hour where they serve alcohol. I've never heard that before.

When I needed help I was taken to Helia, They took wonderful care of me and was there when I need the most help in my life. At 60 I never thought I would need a nursing home but I did and Im so glad I went to Helia. The staff there was very carring and attentive. They were pleasent to be around and made me feel like I was a friend not just a body.
