My husband is at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab. I was there one time when they were having a birthday party for someone. I believe she was 100 years old and there was a lot of activity in the large cafeteria area/dining room. Everyone seemed to have a good time. They had the grandkids and all of that there. The one thing I didn't like is that they don't have a library and my husband is a voracious reader. So, that is a drawback for him that keeps him entertained. The facility is always clean. I haven't noticed anything, other than they need to clean their windows. They have a nice area where I can take my husband out onto a concrete porch area all along the side of the building. They've got tables and chairs out there that you can sit and visit in the nice weather. The staff are always very nice. It's a large facility, so sometimes it's a little hectic trying to find someone to help or assist or answer your question. To my knowledge, they don't have that many activities. They don't have movie nights or little ice cream socials. They don't have things like that. This is costing over $5,000 a month and I realize you've got a lot of doctors and nurses and 24-hour staff and stuff, but for the money, I don't think I'm getting its worth. They're not giving him any rehab. They don't get him up and walk him and stuff like that to get his legs stronger. I'm very disappointed.

I went to Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab Inc. The staff was nice, and it seemed to be pretty clean, and that's all we saw at that time. They take Medicaid, so that was nice, too. The rooms were kind of small, but they were adequate. They didn't have many amenities. The room was very small to rehabilitate. It wasn't that big. They didn't have a lot of places to sit outside, so there could have been an improvement to that. It was a complete nursing home. It was 100% nurse assistance if you need help.

We placed my dad in Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab. It was clean. His behavior problems seemed to go away. He's in a special care unit, so he can wander freely if he wants to walk. It was a big plus that they have a locked unit that he could stay safe on. However, they need to improve on the number of staff. They don't seem to have enough staff to monitor those people in a special care unit. My dad has fallen twice since he's been there, and he hasn't even been there for a month. The staff are not very knowledgeable about their patients, too, and the level of nursing was a med tech and nurses aids, so there was not a nurse back there. My dad seems to like the food. He does not complain about the food at all. They have a pretty good activity calendar, too. He is kept busy between his therapy and playing bingo, so that seems to be a good thing. They don't have a lot of amenities though. They can walk outside in a secure environment, which is a plus for my dad. In terms of value for money, we are getting what we paid for. They have been very good about making sure he stays within his financial budget, and that is a big plus because we want him to be able to use the insurance that he has available to him. They have a pretty good therapy department. They seem to be doing okay in all aspects except the nursing staff. We need more nursing staff.
