Turnover of personnel is high. Long delays in respnding to nurse call. My loved one would lay in urine and/or feces for hours before someone would help. This is a for profit facility and not a high care place.

Golden Living is an older facility in the rural community of Mexico, Missouri. They provide a wide range of treatment and living arrangements for elderly, sick and disabled patients. In general, the staff are well trained and attentive to the residents. I have noticed examples of employees going beyond the call of duty to assist with patient or family needs. For example, the kitchen staff made a special breakfast for me when I was there very early in the morning on business for my father who was a resident at the time. However, there is always a turnover of employees and sometimes new staff are not as aware of their duties and how to best assist patients and family. In my opinion, this facility is excellent for the time-limited patient but would not be my first choice for long-term care.
