My mom is in Holden Manor. I have found that they're very easy to work with and talk to. There are some things that I am not crazy about. The employees are not required to be vaccinated, so since my mom has been there, they've had three different times that an employee has tested positive. So, we still get to see my mom, but we have to do special things to get to see her. You have to call ahead, it can only be like one or two people there at a time. The fact that the employees are not required to be vaccinated, I am not happy with that. That being said, as far as cleanliness, there's no smell. But on a scale of 1-10, I would rate her room itself at maybe about 6-7 in terms of cleanliness. One of my sisters goes in once a week and cleans the room just to make sure, and we have talked to them about that. They said that they don't use disinfectants because some people have lung problems, but there would be something that they could clean the rooms with. If she has to go to the bathroom, they're right there to take her, and she doesn't usually have to wait. So I think her overall care is very good. There has been a couple of things that I have been just wondering about, so I've gone and talked with them, and they're very easy to talk to and get things worked out. They have a community center, there's a big-screen TV out there. They'd watch football games and they'd have popcorn out for them. They're encouraged to come out to the dining area to eat together. They have game nights for people that want to play games like board games. I have tasted her food a couple of times. There was one time that it didn't look that appetizing, but then there was another time I tasted the Swedish meatballs and it was good. I'd say it's well worth the money.
