My mom was a resident of Festus Manor for over 18 months, and I can't tell you how fantastic the whole staff was with her and her many needs. The entire time she was there the staff was attentive to not only her needs but the families also. The rehab staff, nurses and administrators all made our time with mom there the best we could have asked for. Thank you all!

My uncle was in there and he and his caregivers found it very below par. Just a few examples: He is supposed to be in for physical rehab. Two days in a row, he didn’t have therapy. Weekend food service is horrible. He had soup and a baloney sandwich. To top things off, we asked for a call back from the nursing supervisor. No call as of yet. Four days including voicemails. Everyone is very dissatisfied with them.

My sister was in this facility and all I have to say is, if I had been her guardian, I would of pulled her out of there in a heartbeat. My dad and sister thought it was great, close to home, they could visit everyday and she was taken care of. I agreed, during the day when they were there. However, I stopped on my way to work one day, all staff was outside smoking, went to see my sister. She had a brown ring of feces and urine all the way up to her neck. Her trach humidifier tubing was no where near her neck, her tube feeding was empty and pinched off. Her mouth was horribly dry. I could go on and on. Let's just say division of health and senior services was called. My sister passed away with a bed sore the size of a softball and down to bone.

My Brother has gone to Festus Manor for skilled rehab to then return home. He is getting very good care. I had some concerns about communication with staff changes but when brought to the administration it was taken care of with no other issues.

Festus Manor has Medicaid beds available, and it was clean and well-managed. My mom moved in about a week ago. The rooms are dated but functional. The staff was average. They have activities, but they don’t get the patients for the activity. They need to get the patients to participate in the activities.

My father is at Festus Manor. We chose this because it's close to my mom. As far as the cost, it's really reasonable, so the cost is very good. Also they work with us with Medicaid. We didn't get to choose the room; we were just assigned one. The room that he has is very small. I think they could improve on having better choices of room. For activities, I believe they have activities there but I don't know for sure because my father has severe Alzheimer's, so he doesn't participate in anything. The staff seems really nice. My dad is also on hospice care, so he has someone with him almost all the time. The best thing about this place is the people themselves, they're very nice.

They mean well and provide good service. The problem is that "good service" is not good service per se, but good service 'compared' to other nursing homes / long-term care facilities. These are for-profit businesses and it shows.
