As I was totally out of it with combined covid 19 and shingles I had no choice in where I would be cared for, I was impressed with the exceptional care given by the staff. They did their best to fulfill my needs. Names that come to mind are Julie for speech,Chase for Physical, and best of all, Mi-Mi, my personal nurse. I would only suggest that each nurse have a distinct name tag with their first name only. Its hard enough to remember your own name after this traumatic episode.

My parent was transferred here to receive rehab services. She got worse while she was here due to neglect and medical errors. Medications were not given for days after admission and when they were given, they were given at the wrong times. Night meds causing sedation were given at 4 pm. Food was placed across the room where my mom could not access it and she was never brought to the dining room or taken to activities. Instead of therapy, my mom was left in bed all day with no pants on. Her vital signs were not taken and when done at our request, the doctor was not notified of critically high blood pressure. She ended up back in the hospital within a week. Other resident's doors were left open while they changed their soiled pants and others were left at the nursing station unsupervised with their clothes falling off. While my mom was in the hospital we were told to come and get her belongings which they had packed up and many items were missing.

My mother was a resident for 2 weeks and the conditions and staff were awful. When we arrived the lobby and hallways had a foul odor. Her room was not cleaned before we arrived with trash on the floor and gouges in the drywall. The response time for CNAs or Nurses to the room was on average more than an hour. They never changed her clothes or got her out of bed. The staff's attitude was lazy and unpleasant. Staff had headphones on and were watching movies on their phone during their shifts. They openly complained at the nurses station how unhappy they were with their jobs and with management. We never were called to have a Care Plan meeting with staff. We left messages for social work and the director of nursing with NO return calls. The Business Manager was responsive and helpful with information on insurance coverage. The food was inedible and was often served two hour late. I do not recommend putting ANYONE in the Quarters for any length of time.

My family member was admitted to Quarters on May 5, 2023. She had an open surgical wound on her ankle, nurses were instructed to clean it daily to prevent infection. On May 23rd my aunt called me complaining of excruciating pain from ankle. She informed me nurses had not cleaned her ankle in a week and nurses were ignoring her cries. I called Quarters spoke with Lindsey, administrator, Judea, Social Worker and Lakeisha, assistant director of nursing. Lakeisha (ADON) told me the Wound nurse had quit and apologized for the lack of care. Still, bandage on foot was not changed until 2 days later on May 25, at which time Lakeisha adamantly assured me that ankle was in good health. On May 29th a nurse from Quarter called me alarmed by condition of aunts ankle, she said it was severely infected, her instructions were to changed bandage. She immediately had aunt transferred to ER, doctors discovered the infection had destroyed tissue and bone. Aunt underwent emergency amputation. WARNING DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVE ONE HERE. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN (ASAP).

Do not take your family members here or send them here. This place mistreated my Mom. We had to go get her she was only here for rehab. They only did 1 day of rehab when they were supposed to do it daily. They left her in the bathroom and did not give her pain meds or breathing treatments on time. She called me many times unable to breathe. If you love your loved one do not send them to this place. Check reviews first of all nursing homes before allowing your family to go there. When we went to get her out they weren't going to let her leave with oxygen. I told them I wasn't leaving without her. They let her leave with an oxygen tankard I took it back 2 days later. They wouldn't answer my Mom's call light either.

Do not send your loved one here. I was POA for mine. She needed help feeding herself and she is gluten free. She rarely got help eating as proven by food and drinks all over the floor that often stayed for days. I posted a note in her room that said she needed help eating and was gluten free and still had aids and nurses say they did not know. Therefore when she ate gluten she had intestinal issues. She lost 25 pounds in the month she was there. The worst was her catheter bag was bloody and the nurses and physician assistant said it was probably a bladder infection. It got bloodier and several days later I told them something had to be done now. Finally they called 911 and EMT told me I did not need their approval to call them but I did not know that. She ended up in hospital for 2 weeks with Kidney infection not bladder. I have numerous photos to document the bloody catheter bag and dirty room. I do not want anyone else to suffer like she did.

When you walk through the doors to where the patient rooms are there is an over powering smell of urine. My loved one was a patient for about 2 weeks and never once got a meal that was warm-it came cold every time. The nurses mixed up patients medications and were not caring or compassionate. I would never recommend this place to anyone!! I will say my loved one was happy with the physical therapy and occupational therapy staff and that's it.

I questioned whether or not to send my father here after reading the reviews but due to COVID this was our only option. BIG MISTAKE! The social worker called us one time, the other time she was called and was totally unprepared and unprofessional. The social worker Lindsey literally huffed on the phone when asked a question! The nursing staff are also the same. Long call light response times and they neglected to get residents up for Fathers Day (which I saw through my father's window while visiting.) Do NOT go here!!!

I spoke daily to my friend in skilled nursing at Quarters. He was miserable. Often left in wet or soiled diapers, left with no water that he could reach, call light ignored for hours, not minutes. Gotten up too late for breakfast, which is dangerous for a diabetic. Medications that were ordered by his doctor were ignored by the facility physician. The nurse on his wing yelled at him and staff ignored his calls for help. Aides were rough in handling him for bath, one male aide was physically abusive. He would have to go to the hospital for congestive heart, do well there, be sent back to Quarters, and the care was so indifferent he would end up right back in the hospital. This place is unprofessional at best and neglectful and abusive at worst. Don't be fooled by the hype, living reality at Quarters is a nightmare. Don't send your loved one there for long term care.

Do not be swayed by the beauty of the surroundings of this facility. Nurses are understaffed, spending little time with residents and significant time with charting duties. The medical specialists seem to be good but the general medical doctor did not provide follow up or timely tests for our loved one's illness. After 4 days of illness with an inability to eat, a trip to the ER revealed she had a high white blood count and pneumonia. Unfortunately, it was too late and she passed away 2 days later. Nurses tried to get a complete blood panel run during this time, but the doctor was inattentive to the request. The food is also the worst we have ever seen at a rehab facility.

My father is a resident at The Quarters and I'm satisfied with the care he is receiving. He has Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Dad also experienced the loss of his wife while at The Quarters and the staff has been kind and compassionate while taking good care of Dad's needs. The atmosphere is cheerful with bright, tasteful decor, plus his room and bathroom is kept clean. The residents can dine in the Dining Room or have a tray brought to their rooms. The food is nutritious with three meals served daily and the residents can have snacks. Placing a loved one in a nursing home is a difficult decision to make, but knowing they are receiving good care makes it much easier for the family.

18 to one staff member ratio on evening shift. I have been at home for several hours at a time and resident I was visiting wasn't checked once. Developed pressure sore in a matter of days of arrival. Personal belongings disappear. Call light goes unanswered for 30 minutes minimum. Some staff is good overall but overworked and understaffed. Would not recommend this place to anyone at any cost.

Well I will tell you placing my young mom 70 years of age in a nursing home was a horrifying decision. We started in rahab which was great & then transitioned to skilled nursing home. We were drawn to the Quarters because of cleanliness & staff. We were sooooo lucky we landed there. My mom just passed away and with exception to 1 nurse all and I mean all of the staff was absolutely amazing and supportive as we trudged through the hardest days of our loves. Kind words, proactive actions, love, support...they really really care! I am shocked to say I would not have had my mom's last days with anyone else. The nursing home gave more to us then our own family & friends during our sad difficult time. Mom had a very nice room we were allowed to decorate & a very sweet room mate. The staff was responsive and always aimed to support mom & us. They don't have an easy job as many residence have minimal family and the staff is everything to them. The staff makes the Quarters and we are forever grateful for their amazing care & love!

I was very impressed with this facility. My sister-in law is in the rehabilitation facility, they have done an amazing job helping her. I definitely wasn’t expecting to see her happy smiling and excited when I arrived for a visit. When I arrived her face was lit up and the progress she’s made was huge! The facility was very clean. The staff was very nice .and extremely pleasant.

Right now, my mom is in The Quarters getting occupational and physical therapy. We chose The Quarters because my Aunt lived here full time in their Memory Care unit long ago. She passed away there and we were pleased with the experience, so Mom chose to come here for therapy after her surgery. Here are some of the changes I have noticed since my Aunt was there (all positive); 1) There is no longer a "Memory Care" unit. The 2nd floor of the building now accommodates all permanent nursing home residents. Some, I noticed, do have memory issues, but it isn't strictly for dementia patients. 2) There are two brand new wheelchair vans out front of the building that are always on the go. Transportation is readily available for short term therapy guests as well as long term residents. 3) The company running the place now is MGM Healthcare. I can't remember who the company was when my Aunt lived here, but MGM seems to have this place in tip top shape. Very clean & friendly faces. 4) All of the rooms for therapy patients such as my Mom are PRIVATE and really large! This is so nice, especially when the whole family visits on Sundays. The workers, nurses, therapists, receptionists have been more than accommodating and really care about my Mom. My Mom has made a lot of friends in her therapy group. Everything about this facility has been very much improved since my Aunt lived here years ago. Except the food. It needs some sprucing up! But other than the food, this is a great place to be.

My Family stayed at this facility, they made it feel like home for her and our family. The food was decent better than hospital food, The Rehab was awesome. The care she received was great. she was very weak and in a wheelchair when she arrived . She left with a walker, but no longer needs it.. She will be back after her next surgery.

Staff are always willing to assist with a smile. For those who have complained about Medication did you ever stop to think that not all 100 patients can receive their medication at one time? Medication was given timely, Staff is responsive and caring. There was an air of "whatever it takes". Highly recommend.

Don't let the way it looks fool you. They don't give medications on time (and sometimes not at all). They ignore the residents when they call for help. When you try to move the resident out because of the ridiculously bad care, they focus on covering their assess by making the resident sound bad so no one else will take them. This place should be shut down!

My family has never been though traumatic experience with our Granny before. So of course we were nervous an cautious about placing our love one at a nursing facility. But God answered our prayers when we first walked into The Quarters at Des Peres. Immediately upon arrival, the staff here welcomed us with smiles an genuine care.. The administration and staff if nurses and therapist are very good at their job. I cant thank them enough each day.

Don't bother with this place. Nice enough personalities but not a clue how to manage rehabilitation. Continued medication errors, Failure to follow nearly every doctor's order to move rehabilitation forward, even after verifying that they had the orders from hospital. Only here 5 days and having to get moved to a more competent facility. Again nice, friendly staff, nobody getting anything done. Complete waste of 6 days of covered rehabilitation care. Run like typical for profit institutions. Staff shortages and looking at the wrong priorities.

Of the 7 places we stayed for "rehab" when I took care of my father, this was the nicest building but having so many workers from a different neighborhood made it kind of feel like a dump. They'd really have the nicest facility in town if they improved the care and the stealing. I don't think they should bring people in from other parts of town when we're putting our loved ones someplace near their homes.

Quarters of Des Peres is a good place and nice looking facility, but they don’t give very much help at all; we’re not really happy with it. It’s a good place though ,and Loreta has a nice and spacious private room.

I have found a place for my mom named The Quarters at Des Peres. The rooms and apartment are expensive. They are clean and OK. The security and safety is pretty nice. The dining area is OK. It is pretty nice. They need to improve the activities and the physical therapy. I'm not really impressed with it. It is something that the hospital put her in for a while, and then it turned into full time care. It was kind of convenient for us.

My father needed rehab after a fall in Dec, and I was recommend this facility by a salesperson at an Assited Living facility. I can tell you from the moment we arrived, there were nothing but problems. The nurse who assisted us in gettting my dad out of the car, rolled him into his room, and without taking off his coat tried to put a blood pressure cuff on him. When I asked for a minute to get his coat off, she replied "my shift is almost over". Needless to say, this facility required my constant attention. They DO NOT provide meals for specail diets, althought their phone prompts specifically detail the "fine dining" experience and diet assit. They did not help my dad get back on his feet..but instead gave him the minimal assit until medicare ran out, and then they planned on tossing him out, not getting him on to a walker until 2 days prior to his release. I NEVER spoke to his doctor, after repeatedly asking and calling his office. I had to insist they quit over medicating him, as they were injecting him with insulin he didn't need. I had to repeatedly ask for meetings with staff as he was not getting the attention needed to rehabilitate him to move on to his new home. I wouldn't board my dog here, much less leave a loved one.

They treated me with kindness and compassion, kept my diabetes under control, and maintained a firm, consistent, therapy routine while I recuperated from Knee Replacement surgery. The environment is lovely and soothing. Made some good friends there.

We chose this facility because it had a level for memory care. The size of it was really big for memory care compared to the other ones. The rest of the facilities i know of have like 20 beds available for memory care but this one actually has 75. Also it was a newer facility so we went with them. I like the convenience of where it's located. I like the different activities that they have planned for the day and their independence. My mom is happy. Her room is great and everyone has a private room. The staff is very nice so yes i would recommend this community.
