We went to Benton House of Blue Springs. The tour was great. It was very nice. The lady manager who took us around on the tour was very helpful. We took our mother back to that place because every day they have wonderful activities going on for them in assisted care. And she could take her pet with her, her little dog. And we did. They had a little courtyard there with little rocking chairs out there. That was nice. And they had two little places like that courtyard. They had a little kitchen area where they had a refrigerator so that they could keep snacks cool if they wanted to.

Benton House of Blue Springs was beautiful but expensive. The staff member who showed us around was very nice and pleasant. The rooms were big and roomy.

The rooms at Benton House of Blue Springs were very nice. It's a smaller facility, so they don't have as many common areas or different places to go. They have a courtyard and a fountain. It's fairly new and very well-maintained, and the building was very nice. The director was very helpful, very upfront with the cost, and they don't try to hide any fees or anything. She gave us a lot of paperwork and a lot of information, and she was very informative. Some residents were sitting about and walking around. They all seemed to be well taken care of.

Benton House is a nice enough facility if your loved one doesn't actually need much assistance. Of course, for $6000 a month, it seems like the residents should be entitled to a good deal of assistance. Don't count on it. My mother ended up using a wheelchair instead of a walker because there never seemed to be anyone available to walk behind her on the way to meals. She also had trouble using the phone and would leave it off the hook from time to time. It would often take me an hour or more just to get someone on the telephone who could walk in to her apartment to put the receiver back on the hook.

Benton House of Blue Springs was nice and new. The people and the apartment sizes were really nice. You can get a queen-size or king-size bed in there if you wanted to. The kitchenette was convenient and had a lot of safety features on the stove, and you can bring your own microwave. It had a light to use if you needed help with something. They provided weekly housekeeping services.

My dad is at Benton House. This place is beautiful. On a scale of 1 to 10, the managerial staff is about an 8. The health care manager is about a 5. The room is absolutely fantastic. It is a brand-new place. The dining room is very well-maintained with beautiful tables and chairs. The meals are very good, too. The social recreation seems to be OK; my dad just doesn’t participate very much.
