    Friend or relative of resident

My grandmother was a resident at the Magnolia Nursing Home in Jackson, MS. Our family decided to place her their after she suffered mini stroke while living independently in her home. During her stay there she was able to interact with other residents in the facility. The nurses that were there were nice. Some of the the nurses where not as friendly with the patients and not with the families. On my first trip their, I was not help to find my grandmothers room. I had to look up and down the hall because I didn't see staff nor did they ask me where I wanted to visit. The appearance of the facility reminded me of more of a hospital than a residence home. Each residents had their own room and were allowed to have television and other things to fix up their room. In the end of my grandmothers stay, her condition worsened so my family decided to bring her home with the care of nurses. The facility help us find a stay at home nurse and they also helped with the transportation of her to my mothers house. The home was a good place to help with the care of my grandmother but if we had more time for choosing, we would have found a better facility.
