The rooms were substandard. The first room had a non functioning restroom and they had no water for her personal hygiene. Most of the care staff had negative attitudes and talked to the patients about how bad a facility it is. They took no precautions to guard her against COVID. When she was discharged, she was sent home with COVID, UTI, and a bedsore. A relative who visited with her often also had COVID. She is presently hospitalized with these conditions. This should not be an option of care for your loved ones.

If you care at all about your loved one, DO NOT take them here!!! They almost killed my father and I’m convinced if we had not removed him from here he would no longer be with us. We left there and took our loved one to the ER where he was placed in the ICU for several days. He could not feed himself and they literally just put his food and liquids down and walked out. He was severely dehydrated when we left. He had the same clothes on for 4-5 days and I don’t think they ever showered him! When he had to go to the Covid unit for 10 days, they lost (or took) almost everything he had. A few things miraculously reappeared. I could go on and on about how terrible it is but I will end with it is awful and I wouldn’t take my worst enemy there. My prayers are with the patients still there.

My mother was a resident there. She came there from the hospital following a very bad case of COVID. She was also an Alzheimer’s patient. At first since she was on hospice they worked with our family and allowed some family visits. Then for some unknown reason ( maybe she didn’t pass away on their time frame) they wouldn’t allow any more visits. We were all vaccinated and so was she! The director even tried to make the family leave those last few hours of her life! They had some very good employees but the director was horrible!

My mother was a resident of Lakeland Nursing and rehab until they accidentally dropped her as they were putting her to bed. They did not call me or any of my other family members. This was during the time of COVID and so the way we found out is when she told us by phone she was in pain and I insisted that they take her to the hospital and they said no and they said, “We don’t want that old COVID here”. Thank God her doctor made them send her, but she unfortunately died from her injuries. Think carefully before you send a relative here.

The Doctor was never available to discuss treatment of my father with my family. Even after requesting that we wanted to speak with him he never did show up at the nursing home to see us. My father had to go to the ER due to critical low red cell count which I had earlier asked the nursing staff to follow up with doctor because it was very low, but not critical following a trip from the ER a few days earlier. I asked that his red cell count be checked by the doctor the next day after his return to the nursing home, but the nursing staff ran the wrong test that I didn’t request. I found the RNs to be cool and unconcerned when trying to talk to them. The nursing assistants were very nice and did the best they could with so many patients and so few of them. The facility was a bit older than I expected but appeared to be clean and my father was always clean. My father went from walking during rehab there to being bedridden in a few weeks. But I guess it could be he was going to get worse anyway; I will never know. It would be great if the facility could actively try to find and hire more male nursing assistants. I chose this Home because it was close to all 4 major hospitals in the area.
