Iris Park Commons was very nice. They have community rooms, a lunchroom, and normal amenities. The rooms were beautiful. They're very nice, and I think it's a beautiful place. The dining area was very nice. It's large and airy. I wish my mother-in-law would have chosen that.

We're moving to the Gardens of Episcopal Homes (Iris Park Commons). It seemed to be very elaborate, they have sections for assisted living, independent living, and nursing which is what we're going to. The personnel there seemed to be very knowledgeable in what they're doing. The people that I talked to really liked it. There are around 6 different buildings, each one for different situations. They were all a good fit, clean, and very interesting.

I would rank Iris Park Commons at the top. It’s the one we're most comfortable in. They had a lot of more high functioning people, and it had an elderly housing, assisted living, and long term care, all in the same facility. It was a very active community, and even the long care facilities were very pleasant. We liked the place because it had lots of open areas. It had classes that were taught by professors like myself. They had a nice coffee shop, and you had the same people working with you all the time. I would give them a very high rating for its staffing. In terms of dollar for a dollar, I think the improved care that the community has balances out to some places higher.

The Gardens of Episcopal Homes is a brand new facility. I put my husband there, and I am very happy. The staff is very well-trained, very compassionate, and loving, and it's really good. There is nothing bad I can say about them. His room is maybe more spacious than what he needs -- a private room that has some benefits and some that are not so good. They have their meals and activities together. There are ten people to a house, and because they are all together and they all know each other, they all take part in everybody's care. It is like a family.

Irish Park Commons is three minutes from my house. So, it's close and it is wonderful. It is extremely homey and I know every member of the board. I just love their philosophy of caring for the dignity of every human being. The people who work there are very friendly. The room is more than my dad needs. It has a living room and a big bedroom. It has a little kitchenette and we can just turn up the stove and cook up. It has a sink, a cabinet and refrigerator. It has sunny windows. It is huge. It is much nice and he is happy there. He likes the food. The food is good and they have juices, coffee and cereal out all day. They have social times and plenty of activities. They have their own bus so they can take people shopping and any place around. I will recommend them to any people I meet.
