My mother was at Episcopal Church Home. She received excellent care there, but that's transitory care. They do have memory care, senior care, and assisted living. It was excellent and we would've liked for her to stay there, but she would not, she would prefer where she is, just because it's smaller, and it's kind of an off-the-beaten-path setting. It's in St. Paul, the light rail goes right by and the housing that would have been most appropriate for her would have been a high-rise she would have hated that. Those were the only reasons we did not push her there. It's a fairly large campus, they have quite a lot going on there. My mother was just in transitory care, cardio rehab following her since. The professional staff was excellent. I had some difficulty when I would call in, when I would call, and I would get whoever was staffing the phones. They didn't seem to always be aware of where things were. And this is not a criticism of them, most of them did not speak English as the first language. And so, they weren't understanding what I was asking, and I was understanding. I understood pretty well what they're telling me, but they weren't understanding what I was saying. But the professional staff, the physical therapist, the OT, and the language, I don't remember her title, they were all excellent. I could not go in. She was in isolation or quarantine the whole time she was in. And that is just their practice right now in transitory care, I believe. She said the food was good or okay. The care was excellent, but this is for rehab, I can't tell about the assisted living or memory care.

Beware this facility has numerous CNA’s who are refusing to get vaccinated. Our family member continues to be in quarantine d/t this negligence. How can these workers care for the most vulnerable population of this pandemic and feel justified in their choice. The administration won’t/can’t enforce the requirement or mandate of getting vaccinated to protect their residents. As a family we are very sad to not visit our family member this late in the pandemic because of selfish reasons.

I was in transitional care for three weeks at Episcopal Home. I had physical therapy. The people seemed very positive, I interacted with a lot of staff members, and the food was fabulous.

Don't be fooled by the appearance. The admissions person told me twice that she would call me back (after I had to basically track her down to talk to her) and then never actually called me back. Clearly this is tolerated by upper management. If you can't even get an admissions person to take you seriously when there are actual openings, image how well residents are treated, most who are vulnerable. Not impressed one bit.

Episcopal Homes was a super place, but they had a two-year waiting list. It was really plush with coffee shops and swimming pools. The staff was nice and receptive and took us around. The rooms were very nice and well fitted with nice big windows. It's on the train line.

I had visited this facility to interview a care giver to gain user perspective on using technology in aiding assisted living. The care giver was very helpful and provided us with invaluable inputs on how to use technology to provide assisted living. The head nurse showed us the facility and we also got a chance to see few patients. The patients were well taken care of with each patient being assigned to a care giver. The care giver was also responsible for feeding the patient. There were lot of Alzheimer patients in the facility. There was also a Sauna. The rooms felt homely and were well kept. We interviewed the care giver regarding how technology can be used to assist Alzheimer patients and what was currently lacking. The paperwork involved made it difficult to manage multiple patients. The need for an online patient management system became clearly evident.
