My father moved into The Wellstead of Rogers Diamondcrest Senior Living. Right now, everything seems to be OK. There are a few glitches that we're working through, but overall, I would probably recommend it. He's in memory care, and they seem very good to work with. We are getting things settled. My interaction with the staff is very good. He's in a studio. The activities so far for him have been very, very good. They're encouraging him a lot to join in. It's interesting because the section that he's in is all men. So for him, it's been very good. They have activities that are more suited toward men, which is a little bit different than you find at most because the majority of people his age are women. They have very good amenities. They have a beautiful, wide open, very large common space with lots of things and beautiful patios that are secure, so he can't elope. Everything so far is very, very nice. They have a barbershop and an outdoor courtyard that's all secured, and they have multiple televisions if they want to sit. They have lots of tables for cards. They even have a little work area, like a workbench where the guys can go and just kind of hold on to tools, which is what a lot of men have always enjoyed doing. They have their hydration station 24/7, and snacks are available 24/7. I am impressed with their activities. The facility just needs some upgrades, which they're doing. Some of it has been updated and it's beautiful and some of it's still in progress. I think it's very affordable.

We will be moving my father to The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest Senior Living because they have a wing that is all male and with male attendants (my father would do better with that). We also liked that there is a very small ratio of residents to staff. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the place. They're replacing the carpet and repainting everything before he moves in. So, we were very happy and pleased with what they were willing to do for his comfort. The amenities were pretty much what is standard around. They have their own dining area, programs to try and break him out of his dementia, and work with him on levels that he can understand and go forward with. By watching them work with the residents that were there, we're very hopeful. I looked at their menus and it looks like they give them a good variety of food. It is recycled every month. So, they don't get the same thing twice within a month. Everybody that we met and talked with was very upbeat and feeling very good about where they were working and what they were doing. It's an older building but it's well-kept.

We liked the way The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest Senior Living presents itself as a home, as well as the services they offer, and the availability of everything like recreation and fellowship. Their one-bedrooms were not big nor smaller, but they would work. The place was clean. They had an underground tunnel from memory care to senior living, which was nice. We enjoyed all the aspects of the presentation, such as the layout of the rooms, its size, and cleanliness.

We like The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest Senior Living but they don't have any rooms with decks. That's the only deal-breaker. The facility was spacious, it was light, they have lots of good amenities and the staff was nice. It's kind of strange where they have like a big ballroom where they have their Christmas party and stuff. But they rent it out for people to have receptions, which seemed weird. But the place was beautiful and my mom liked that it was a kind of wildlife setting as opposed to being in the middle of the city. Their rooms were good, but they weren't great. We saw a 2-bedroom, but it's not as homey as the other place we toured. But they were spacious, had good amenities in the rooms, updated and everything, there's just nothing special about them. They have a full kitchen. The 1-bedrooms did not have laundry or a washer and dryer in the rooms. They have a pub, library, and a game room. Their dining area does not have a menu, it's more like "Here's what we're serving today", and gave you three or four choices. It has a chapel, hair salon, and laundry rooms on the floors for rooms that didn't have them in there. They're great, I just think they could have made better use of what they have available.

The Wellstead of Rogers was very nice, but it was quite a bit expensive. The one bedroom apartment we saw was very nice. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They had a lot of amenities. I just did not think my mother would be able to use them. They have cute little separate names for everything like the buildings. It is also very well-maintained, and they have an event center that residents can use.

The Wellstead of Rogers Diamondcrest Senior Living is the best place we've been to yet, and my mother has been in and out of different places. They're very caring people, and they stay on top of things. They have ice cream socials, concerts, and they have birds in the facility itself. We're happy and very pleased with everything they do. We get notified about things when we're supposed to. The staff has been wonderful. She was so picky with food before, but she's been eating very well there. It's a lot more of a personal type of place because it's small. It's locked up, and we have a code to get in and out of the facility, so they can't wander off. This way if they wander, they're not able to get out of the facility. The care has been really good.

This facility used to be the premier place in the twin cities. The Wellstead was sold and a management company is now running it they have gone through many executive directors over the past ten years and in my opinion they have the worst one to date. They have only a handful of CNA’s left here they hire people who have had little training I witnessed 2 future employees sleeping during an orientation and when I was walking by the topic was how residents have lower cognitive function and they may lash out because they don’t know better because of their disease some very important information was lost by sleeping I walked by this group about a half hour later and they were still sleeping they should have been walked out but no they need bodies to fill positions unbelievable don’t let your loved ones reside here

Medication mismanaged, lost personal items, dirty soiled furniture, wet urine soaked clothing tossed in laundry basket not tied up in a plastic bag so it sits and stinks up the room, I pulled back the covers of her bed to find dried up feces (they made her bed with dried up poo in it), a staff member mocks her. I overheard staff complaining of the working conditions and using the "F" word on Easter Sunday. Huge staff and management turnover.

WARNING ** PLEASE READ ** Do not place your vulnerable loved ones in the care of this facility. They make promises that they refuse to keep. We were promised a private room in a neighborhood with higher functioning individuals. Further, we were promised a secure location for our father who has alzheimer's. Finally, we were promised constant communication and a role in the care they provided to our father. They placed our father in a neighborhood where the windows are not locked, secured, or alarmed. They did not monitor him following his placement and he was able to crawl out of the window, into the street. Following his escape, they placed him with a roommate in a neighborhood with the lowest level functioning individuals (the ones they do not show on the tour). When we repeatedly stated this was not where we wanted our father they refused to give us any options. When our father's mental and physical health began to decline, they continued to refuse him adequate care. Finally, our father was pushed over the edge and lashed out at a staff member who appeared to be inadequately trained to deal with his behaviors. They immediately sent him to the ER and recommended a psych. unit. They continue to refuse to take responsibility for our father's significant decline under their care. In less than a week, he went from one of their staff stating he did appeared more like a visitor, then a resident, to someone who can no longer form two word phrases. Do not trust this place to make decisions on the best care of your loved one. Once you sign on the dotted line, they will disregard all of your requests and wishes. Further, they are one of the most expensive placements in MN. They are many better placements for less $$.

I chose The Wellstead of Rogers for my dad. Every single person that works with Alzheimer's patients is trained to work with those patients specifically. They don't allow anyone even somebody who is cleaning up to be in one of the advanced unit without having that training, and that to me is very important. We were able to put him in a male-only unit. It was a small environment. I like that they are also very direct towards keeping their mind as actively engaged as possible. They use a program that is modelled after Montessori for children.

The Wellstead of Rogers has been very nice -- beautiful apartments and very caring people. The experience has been good so far. The dining area is very attractive, and the food is good. We have a 1200 sq. ft, big apartment with 10 ft. ceilings, and we have a patio on the outside so that we can cook out. Everything you’d ever want. We have lots of activities; today, we had Halloween party for the people which was very well attended and very nice. They take you out to shopping, various things, and a lot of activities all day long. Well maintained, very clean, the people are very pleasant, and very gorgeous facility. The thing we like here is that you don’t have to leave your apartment to get assisted living; that’s the nicest feature they have.

I had a friend at the Wellstead of Rogers, and right now I am disagreeing with them with the charges. They are not organized at all. The care and the food were OK. They had Bingo, cards, someone coming selling clothes, puzzles, and someone doing crossword puzzles. There is no communication between the care center and the billing.

I really liked Wellstead, I was really impressed, and even going into the wing where they had severe cases of dementia and Alzheimer’s, people seemed happy. They all seemed active. The staff was really friendly, and I was amazed how they interacted with all the people that lived there. I know there’s a small library and a place for root beer, ice cream, and soda. They were cooking and playing cards.

We are now in The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest. It is very good. Everything is fine and gorgeous. We don't have any complaints. It's beautiful building with beautiful carpeting and woodwork. The food is good. There are too many activities, so if you’re bored, blame yourself. It is newer building with newer facilities. They have a beautiful gym plus more services than other places we saw.

The Wellstead doesn’t have amenities like the other ones. The place is getting older, but it looks OK. They have an ice cream social and entertainment. They even got a fire place and a higher class place.

The other place that we looked at was The Wellstead of Rogers. It was a phenomenal facility. The décor was a bit more upscale, which my parents preferred, but they didn’t have a two-bedroom available at the time. I was very impressed with this community, they just didn’t have openings. In the end, they were farther away from my home. The Wellstead of Rogers has dining options, it is bigger, and they have more robust entertainment options. It is also closer to my home.

We chose The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest because they break down the residents according to the different levels of dementia. They didn't have everybody all together. All the rooms are of the same size, so when they have to transfer to another location, it's not going to be a big deal. Mom seems to be doing well there. The staff seems to be good and very accommodating. The dining area has a table with eight people and another table with three people and a nice environment. They have choices for food, and if you just want hamburger every day, they'll let you have it. They have walks, bingo every day, ice cream every day, music, crafts, manicures, and more.

We found The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest for my dad. It is a little more expensive than we thought, but it is the first one to get back to us. The cleanliness and services are OK, but I like them to be a little more higher standard for the cost. They should have a check-in list because there were plenty of things they didn't tell me that came up later. I wish they had a list of check-in items. The room so far looks OK. My dad thinks the food is a little dry though. They overcooked it, and that's the feedback I get from my dad.

My dad is now on the waiting list at Wellstead. We really liked it because it seemed homey, and there are lots of things for the seniors to do. The staff was very nice to us. We saw two different apartments that were in the process of being freshened up at the time because people had just moved out, but they looked clean, we liked the layout, and the size was big enough. There’s a fitness room, an activity room, a restaurant, a TV room, a library, and Internet access. They also have a little church where a pastor comes in and conducts services. It was all very nicely kept. Overall, it had what we were looking for in a facility.

The staff was very knowledgeable and very nice at The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest. The facility was very clean. The rooms were gorgeous. They have real plan in place to keep residents up and moving. The facility was bigger, so it was not as personal but still very nice. All of the people seemed to be really happy, clean, and smell good. They had many activities, physical therapists, speech therapists, and counselors.

My in-laws are currently residing in Diamondcrest. The place is beautiful but the care they are receiving falls well short of acceptable. They are understaffed in providing aide to the residents. My father in-law often waits 30 minutes or more before someone responds to his request for help. By the time the aide arrives, it is often too late. The aides are very nice but they do not have the proper level of staff for assisted living. We have met with the director and head of nursing and all we hear is they will look into it and evaluate the level of staffing. Then in the next breath, we hear they are staffed at the appropriate level. If a resident doesn't need assistance, it is a beautiful place to live. However, if they need help with daily things - dressing, toileting, etc. I do not recommend Diamondcrest.

The Wellstead of Rogers and Diamond Crest was perfect. They seemed to be the only place that housed the dementia residents with similar levels. The rooms were adequate in size, and each of them had a window, which I think was important.

My dad ended up moving back to Minnesota, and he's at the Wellstead of Rogers. My stepsister actually found it, but she was just very impressed with the whole setting of the community and how it works. They have nine different levels of care, and they were very diligent about making sure it was a good fit on which level my dad went into, and even though he was really only a level one, they put him in a level two because he would get more individualized care there, and they knew that that was important after having been with me and having one-on-one care for the last six months, so I was impressed with that, and they just seem very caring. I was there in April, so the outside really wasn't going yet, but I know they have a barbecue area, and they were going to be planting plants and stuff. My dad was able to put up bird feeders, and he enjoys the birds outside his window every single day. They do Bingo and an ice cream social every afternoon, they have different music, and my dad really enjoys that. He needed special care still on his toe and having some things done with his back to alleviate the pain, but they've been pretty good with being able to help him and give a little extra added care that he needs for that. One of the things that they have is a memory box out front of every person's room where you can put things that help that person know that's their room, but it's also awesome because it tells a little about the person as well, and we really like that. The rooms are nice; you can decorate them as you would like, and that was important. It's very well-kept up, and that just impressed us. There have been a few things because my dad is pretty picky, and I just emailed the gal and said, "You know, I was just a little concerned because breakfast is the most important meal to my dad, and he always had oatmeal, eggs, and toast. Now he's not getting that, and you took the time to ask me what his likes and dislikes were, and I am just wondering why you did that, if you're not giving him what he needs." My God, the next day they started, and he's been having oatmeal, eggs, and toast every morning since. They fixed it and changed it immediately.

The Wellstead have both assisted living and memory care. The memory care unit is probably the best that I can imagine anybody having. The staff was very attentive; there was plenty of help. They have 8 to 10 different levels of memory care, and there were staff in each one. The dining area was like they had three units, three different levels in one dining area that kind of would eat together. I thought that was very, very well, and then they each had their own sitting area if they wanted to just sit; it’s going to be in their rooms. The rooms were -- for those patients basically -- plenty of room. The rooms have bathrooms, and then it had a big L; part of that was for the bed and the other part was the sitting area. They could have a chair or couch and their television and so forth in their room. The grounds were beautiful. They had a park like setting so that in the nice weather they could be put outside, they had gardens, and those that were capable could actually plant flowers and work in the garden. They showed me a couple of activities, and I actually was able to observed one group doing the makeup class. It’s got some industry on the opposite side of the road, but on the same side of the road there’s a very nice residential area.

I went and visited Wellstead of Rogers. I like it very much and also put down money for a reservation for my aunt. I met with their person, and they’re working with us. The apartments are very accommodating and a good size. Everything is clean and in top-notch condition, and it’s a lovely facility. They have many activities from occupational to physical therapy. They have a meeting time where they do current events. I was very impressed with the whole program and the staff; they were very friendly. I wouldn’t mind living there.

Mom and Dad want to move to The Wellstead and they really didn't want to go anywhere else. They had put a deposit there to get onto their waiting list. It seemed like a really nice place. They have a lot of stuff right there so that my parents don't have to go anywhere. They have community areas and they're better than what they have here. Also the staff there was friendly.

The Wellstead of Rogers is a relatively nearby facility. It's seems very confined. The person that we were supposed to meet wasn’t there, but somebody else showed us one apartment. Their apartment has two bedrooms, but the living room or what they call the family room and kitchen were very bland and it just didn’t appeal to us. I didn’t saw anybody in the activity room. It was a large facility, but we didn’t really see any people.

I thought Wellstead of Rogers was really nice because it has a very independent and apartment-like feeling. It didn't feel like a nursing home. It's like the residents were in their own place. The rooms were very nice. They had a really nice-sized bedroom, a living room kitchen combination, and a good-sized bathroom. So far the staff that I had met there were very good. A lot of people around the Rogers area had a lot of positive feedback from people in the community that have worked there or had friends work there. There's a lot of insider information that made you feel a little bit better about it. My dad is going to move in there. It's closer to my home, too.

Nice facility, the only good thing I have to say about them. Severly understaffed resulting in patient neglect, terrible care, and putting their patients in danger of their lives. If you have a loved one there - keep a VERY close eye on how they are being cared for. If you don't have a loved one there, keep it that way.

The Wellstead of Rogers is beautiful and very well-run. It is new and has everything we wanted. We even had lunch there and they have a chef. You could order off a menu and the food was wonderful. It was also expensive. It is only twenty minutes from us, but also twenty minutes on freeway, which has very heavy traffic and it would not be convenient for any of our family. If you were going in there for independent living, you could play Bingo and they take you out to go shopping, and have all those things available to you, so you can transition from independent living all the way through to dementia care. Diamond crest is the dementia portion, which is in a different building and there they have five neighborhoods.

My dad's stay started out fine but with new management has come high staff turnover, much less individual attention, screwups in orders, and some really awful meals. We are looking to move as the care is no longer worth the top dollar price.
