Benedictine Living Community-Osseo is a nice place. I actually have a friend who lives there, and it is the cleanest place I've ever been in. I really like the staff. They have four different living situations that includes a two-bedroom, one large bedroom, one regular bedroom, and a studio. They have a dining room too, and my friend says the food is really good.

My mother will be going to Benedictine Living Community - Osseo. When we walked through the front door, the space was very inviting and warm. The woodworking details gave it a very homey feel. There was white paint on the walls, so it was bright and felt lively. The layout of the place was very simple, so it wasn't confusing. There were so many different hallways. We walked into the front door of what is going to be my mom's home, and it was a one-bedroom apartment. It wasn't just a small room. The thing we like too is that every floor has a nurse. So if a resident needs help, they are right there to help the resident. The staff members we met came out and introduced themselves. They wanted to know about my mom, which is very warm and inviting.

My mom is a resident at Bendictine in Osseo. When we first decided to bring her there to live,we loved it!! She's been there for a few years now. The first year she was there was awesome! The place didn't have that nursing home smell, and it looked like 'GRANDMAS' home when you walked in...older furniture, pictures, etc. Over the last 2 years,it has gone down hill...not enough staff especially on the weekends...including nursing, kitchen help etc. They have taken away the 'grandma' look and replaced with ugly new furniture etc. It seems they care more about decorating then hiring competent staff. Not to mention you walk in the building and it smells like urine now. It may 'look' newer now,but the care level has gone way down. It was an A+ in the beginning of her stay, now it's a D+ in my eyes. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone I care about now. It's really a shame...😪

It is to the point now My grandma is having to wear a camera so we can find out what's going on and take the action we need to so she isn't mistreated. My grandmother moved here recently and the office staff and facility seem nice however the staff who cares for them is not so nice behind the scenes. They don't speak English which in itself isn't an issue but it makes it very difficult to communicate to assit my grandma with her needs. One particular person Bendu is extremely hard for my grandma to deal with. She refused to wash my grandma's urine filled sheets because she had 3 sets and told her she needed more than that so she would have a set to put on. It got to the point they were yelling and another staff member had to step in. Completely unprofessional. How about they just run a load of laundry for an hour so she has what she needs?? They also left urine filled pads hanging up for days instead of cleaning them since cleaning isn't done until Saturdays they said to us. Over the holiday they didnt have staff to help her and didn't notify us. They come into her room early and barge in unannounced in the mornings even after we made a sign saying not to and it startles her. They don't treat her with dignity or act like it is her home. We are dreading having to move her again but if they don't do something about this one very terrible staff member inparticular im not sure what to do...

A nice facility in a nice small-town-feel area where you can walk to what you need, if walking is an option. The single rooms are decent size and clean. There is no staff to be found on the weekends!! You have to look hard to find anyone except the food prep staff. The food is fair at best and mostly from a can, so not overly healthy but comforting to a certain age group. The price is on the lower side which reflects the lack of staff. The flip signs on the doors are a joke since no one is there to see them and act on them, and one side states "I'm OK" and the other side is blank. If you have the money there are better places (Sunrise), but that is a big if for most people.

The rooms at the memory care unit of Benedictine Senior Living at Steeple Pointe were small, and the place looked like a hospital. The staff was OK when we talked to them. The dining area was really large. They had cards, bingo, and all that stuff. They could improve on having more single rooms. The surroundings were fine. I didn't think the workers were real happy there.

Benedictine Steeple Pointe is not extremely large, and it has independent living as well as assisted living. We looked at two different rooms, and they were both very clean. It looks like it's very well taken care of. For someone like my father-in-law, the sizes of the units are about right. So we looked at a 1-bedroom and then a 1-bedroom plus, which had an area that could be sectioned off from the living room by a slider. And the 1-bedroom I think would be a very good size for him. It had enough room without being too much to take care of, I think. The independent living area can also have assisted living services in the same unit. We only met one staff person, and then the second one very briefly. But they seemed really knowledgeable; they knew what the services they could offer were and what some of the other options for services would be. It's a Benedictine, so it's affiliated with the Catholic church. So they have some religious services as well as things like bingo and coffee and cookie time, and I think they have some time for crafts, too. So I know they have activities almost every day. I think one of the strong points for us is that it's right there in the city of Osseo, and it's probably a block or two to the community center and public library. There's a park right there. So in addition to being a nice facility, it's also located where seniors could go outside. People who are mobile can be in the community, as opposed to other places we looked at, which are really more in residential neighborhoods.

I met with the marketing director of Benedictine, and she was very nice. I thought their dining room was quite small. It seems like there wasn't enough fun things to do there. The rooms were big.

Steeple Pointe was always a warm and welcoming environment, despite being a nursing home. The staff was always "with-it" and if they were ever upset, I never noticed it. Though the facility was clean and safe, it never had that cold sterile kind of feel. They had pets too, a dog and birds, both were very well behaved, and friendly to everyone. Doing projects as a volunteer with them was always a heart-warming experience.
