One of the best things about Echo Ridge is that I was able to get a room that's as close to the laundry facilities as anybody could get. I use a walker, so long distances are hard for me. They have very large rooms and apartments here. The one I'm in is about 200 square feet bigger than what I was looking at in other places. The place is completely independent living, and the staff is very helpful. They don't have a dining room, since they don't serve meals here; we take care of our own. They have communal rooms though, and a library is on a different floor. I haven't gone up there yet, since I've kind of been busy just trying to get myself settled. I'm right across from the chapel. I've seen the beauty salon, but I haven't used it. It seems to be quite busy here. I think they have activities, but I haven't participated in any. With COVID, I absolutely didn't do anything and totally just stayed home. Since I've been trying to get settled, I tend to not really join things because I'm kind of a loner too. Teresa, the head person here, is the housing director. She's wonderful and absolutely a gem. She's always very pleasant, very cheerful, and very busy; however, she always has time for you.

We're waiting to get into Echo Ridge. It was clean, open, and airy. The staff who toured me was very knowledgeable and super friendly. There's not many features in the dining room, but they had a humongous, clean kitchen.
