My mom is staying at Boutwells Landing right now. She's in their independent living and I'm going to have somebody come in until something opens up in their assisted living. It's wonderful that's why we were going to let her stay there. The staff is just wonderful, caring, and helpful. The ones I've encountered are very, very, very good. They have a café with very, very good food. They have activities too but she doesn't participate. I know they have different things to do. Her apartment is great. It was spotless when we got there and it's a nice size. It's not super modern, but it's not old-looking, either. It has a nice layout. They also have a library, a salon, and a swimming pool. They have a theater too and just about anything you can think of.

We were looking at Boutwells Landing for assisted living. My parents will still have to go through an assessment, but I think they'll be fine with this place. It's a big facility. It's located on a hundred-some acre property. They got quite a bit of level of care for memory care and assisted living. They even have condos that are on the properties. People in their 50s and 60s can move into the condo, and then if they get older and need to move into other places, they can work their way up the ladder that way. The staff who gave the tour was very informative again. They showed us different types of things and activities they can do. It was very informative. They have a swimming pool for strengthening and balance and stuff like that. They have a weight room, a therapy room, a movie theater, and multiple places to gather in different spots and play cards and stuff. They have Christian activities throughout the week. And it was a very nice place.

My mom was a resident of Boutwells Landing. We didn't want to keep her there because it was too pricey. It's a very nice facility, well-maintained, and lots of friendly staff. They got the transitional care unit there. They've got a gym, they've got a movie theater. They've got a lot of amenities, and a couple of different restaurants. I haven't eaten there, but my mom said the food there was very good. They have their own chef there, so they have a lot of them.

Boutwells Landing is a great caregiving place. It's beautiful and well laid out. Foods have been excellent, and I know that through my mother. I don't eat there. It's bright and roomy. The care is great. I would recommend it. My mom is currently staying there. They have several senior activities there.

My uncle was in Boutwells Landing, he was in assisted living. I would give it a five across the board, that place was unbelievable. The facility was very modern, with lots of amenities, very homey, and kind of its little own community. They had a movie theater, a library, a little general store, an arboretum, a nice sunroom that was full of plants, and lots of sun. I was very impressed. They had a little gathering area that, I believe, on Friday afternoons where you could go down and get a drink. It wasn't open all the time, just kind of a social gathering spot. They had little kitchen areas in every section. I believe you can go there and make your own food or they make food for you. I believe my uncle had his meals made. If you have guests there, you can sign up and they make meals for the guests. It was really nice.

We're on the waiting list for Boutwells Landing. The apartments were very good, roomy, and you can get a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom, and there are different sizes for each one. On the second floor they have a sunroom and a balcony. They have woodshops, movies, exercise rooms, and a lot of entertainment. It's homey.

Wife and I have lived at Boutwells for almost three years. We have a 1700sf townhouse and absolutely love it. The townhouse and all the Boutwells amenities are outstanding. We are 84 & 83 respectively and enjoy all the walking paths and freedoms provided. Frankly, you could not blow us out of here with dynamite.

Boutwells Landing seemed a bit dated. The person who assisted me during the tour was a little unprofessional. We went to a little cafe and she pointed out where the Depends were and said we wouldn't have to worry about it. I didn't think it was very professional. We saw the dining area, and it looked OK, but a little dark, not real cheery looking, and a little dated. They had a swimming pool, a workout area, and a place to get haircuts and things like that.

Boutwells Landing is a very beautiful setting. They have a main street inside that has a barber shop, drug store, and a little shop where you can buy a few groceries. It's quite a unique building. They have a swimming pool and some sort of exercise area. They also have a woodworking area and church. They supply transportation around town with their little transport buses. They get people to appointments and shopping.

My father was going to move into Boutwells Landing, which was the same place his sister-in-law liked. It was very impressive, very immaculate, and had cobblestone walkways. It was a very busy, active community. The staff was excellent, very informative, answered questions that we haven't asked yet, and very easy to approach. His room would have had a full kitchen, a breakfast bar, and a walk-in shower with no lift and absolutely nothing to trip on and nothing to step over. It had big closets and good-sized bedrooms. It was well lit with no smell. They had a workshop for the men.

We got our name in at Boutwells Landing. It was a positive experience. The amenities were not all in the same building, but they have exercise, swimming, movies, chapel, and several organized things. It is much bigger than the other facilities. They have the main dining room where you can get a lighter meal, which is a little more casual.

Certain staff member were amazing! Other staff members were questionable! The protocol was to sign in each time, no one cared or was checked. Anyone could walk in a residents room at anytime. Personal belongings were missing.

Boutwells Landing was a beautiful place. The staff was very helpful and very informed. The residents seemed happy there. There were several activities going on when I was there. They had exercise, lunch, and crossword puzzle class.

Boutwells is lovely to look at and their amenities are many. Many of the care staff are good people but after several years of having care for a parent there in several areas, we found some important things lacking. We had particular problems with the social worker and some of the nursing staff. There is a decided feeling of arrogance and sense of over inflated importance with many of them and we found it to affect care there. We had repeated mistakes with important medications and transition from one unit of care to another was not communicated well in regards to meds and special needs. The final straw for us was a traumatic injury that may have been prevented by communication to us had we been given the chance to put special measures in place. The aides all confirmed that everyone knew of the issue and had charted it yet when we approached the head nurse she claimed to know nothing of this new development. Really?! The result was a traumatic injury, emergency surgery and months of difficult recovery. We did not do rehab at Boutwells after a previous poor experience there from another surgery, and have given up the room. The general feeling from Boutwells was that there was a waiting list and therefore this not a big deal to them. We expected a LOT better.

We chose this location because of the care levels, so we expected easy transition as mom's care needs grew. But transitioning from one area to another is horrid. Record management terrible, and errors seem to always benefit them. If you chose this location, do a walk through upon move in and keep your notes. They accused my mother of lying about damages that were there when she moved in -- they had patched things they should have replaced. Little recourse when they simply keep your deposit. Add-ons in assisted living add up very fast -- make sure family member is on top of it, because residents can get easily confused and authorize things without understanding cost. Care conferences and other meetings scheduled for provider, not family, convenience. Staff is extremely poor about returning family calls. I have to drive there and try to find people in person. Mother loves that everyone knows her name and won't move just for that reason. Otherwise we would have chosen a different provider.

Had my mother in this very expensive facility. The setting is lovely and many of the staff were personable. However we were not informed by nursing staff she had begun to get up on her own and since we had her in this particular unit because of high risk for falls and fractures because of Parkinson's, we found this absolutely inexcusable and irresponsible. As a result she had a major fall and a serious fracture that required surgery. If we had been informed she had started getting up on her own, we would have made decisions to safeguard against injury and possibly even moved her elsewhere. It's very possible we could have avoided this major injury. We also were told by the nursing staff that they did not know she had started getting up without assistance while all three of the main aides confirmed they had recorded she was. Lacking all confidence in the nursing staff and their honesty, we have just left this facility.

Boutwells Landing was really the best. We loved that one, except that it was too far from my sister who's going to help care for my father. It was very updated and it is newer, so it has more modern facilities. In independent living, you either live in the apartment or in a town home that has its own yard with its own little house and its own garage, so we really liked that. It's a much larger complex. There again, they have the pool and a theater. It's closer to shopping and it's very close where people can walk. Anyone over 55 can live there, so even my husband and I can move there at this time if we want to. It's got all levels of care and it's very, very updated and modern. It's new and has a very large campus.

Boutwells was a very nice facility. It was a Presbyterian home. It was everything I expected about a place. The facility itself was really maintained well. They took very good care of everything there. They did have everything there. They have swimming pools, movie theater, restaurant, lounges, etc. They have a lot of different amenities to their location.

Your first impression of Boutwell's is impressive. They have a unique shaped building that has many fun little shops and activity areas, all set on a well landscaped and wooded lot. Aside from the many small party rooms, common areas, chapels, and other fun amenities, there is a great adult service team as well. They always have such a positive attitude and a professional demeanor and help the seniors on site live a normal as possible life. Although the facility is on the high end of pricing, I would highly recommend.

Charging extra for things that are supposed to be included. Raising the cost consistently with the excuse that "we just discovered we were undercharging you". in addition to taking annual increases of 10% to 16% 1 person to care for 10 Alzheimer's patients, besides doing the cleaning and meals and not trained to handle problems. If they have a problem, the first thing they want to do is medicate.
