I love Arbor Lakes in Osseo, and I'm glad that my parents are there. I'm very pleased with the care that my parents are getting. All the nurses and aides have been very attentive. I love the activities, and the place always smells good and clean. There's a phenomenal food aroma. My father is in the assisted living there and my mom is in the memory care in the same building, though they have separate rooms. I'm about to have my first meal there on Thanksgiving Day, but I have not heard any complaints from my parents. My Dad in assisted living gets two meal options a day. I don't know if I could call the price reasonable, but my parents are paying it so we made the choice.

The tour I had at Arbor Lakes Senior Living was wonderful. It was very thorough. The room that they showed me was being cleaned because somebody had just left and I wanted to make sure I had a balcony. My daughter mentioned that there were more older people there than there had been in some of the other places, but I have no problem with that. That's fine. I have a walker myself. I'm not worried about anybody having walkers and wheelchairs and all that. I've lived with them. The people were friendly. I only eat organic or specially prepared stuff. So, I usually order my own or buy my own food. So even though the food is $8 a meal, that was no problem because I won't eat it anyway. Maybe I'll have the Continental breakfast for $5 because I only eat one meal a day, but usually, I either make it myself or order again. It had a lock outside the door so nobody could just walk in the building. It's all secured and I liked that and the fact that the decor was my style. It was great. It had a 70s look and I had all the furniture in dark wood and it matched. I don't need fancy countertops or fancy appliances. I just have the normal ones like I use now. This was just very down-homey and I felt comfortable. The manager was great. He answered all the questions. He's friendly.

Arbor Lakes Senior Living was very, very nice. We toured both independent and assisted living and it's very beautiful. The wood was very dark, but very elegant. The salesperson wasn't quite as warm, but he was informative and knowledgeable. They had a pool table and different things on different floors. They had laundry inside the units. The upkeep was very good.

I visited Arbor Lakes Senior Living and I saw their assisted living facility and their memory care in a separate building. It was very nice and spacious. They have a very nice dining area and a nice theater. The rooms were also nice. The rooms we saw were a studio room and a 1-bedroom. The assisted living was nice, it seemed to be well taken care of, and clean. There was a man that gave us the tour and he was the only staff I interacted with. The facilities were nice in assisted living.

We went to Arbor Lakes. It was like a beautiful hotel inside, but all dark wood, and we never saw a resident. It was depressing, and it had a dark/cold feeling. They had a lot to offer. They had big gardens, the dining room was lovely, and the rooms were lovely, but I had trouble with dark wood. They had field trips planned often, exercise programs, reading groups, gardening clubs, and PT, OT, and speech.

Arbor Lakes' rooms were lovely and the food was very good. The place was very clean. There were lots of different activities. It was like a hotel situation where people were talking and chatting. It looked like new construction. Planting more trees and foliage would be nice.

My father-in-law stayed in Arbor Lakes, and we were very happy. It was a very large complex. His second wife had memory problems, and he was taking care of her, so they had an apartment. They would go downstairs to where their meals were served. They had little buttons around their necks. He fell in the bathroom, so he just pushed that and somebody came and helped him get up. They had memory care, which was just down the hallway behind the locked door. We ended up having the wife stay in the memory care area because she was getting to be too much for my father-in-law. He would go down and visit her, and when he wasn’t able, they would bring her to his place every once in a while. Arbor Lakes was a very nice, pretty place.

Arbor Lakes Senior Living was a very attractive place. It was a senior independent living combined with assisted living, and they also had hospice, which they outsourced along with the doctors. They had apartments with a bedroom and a living room, plus a den and a kitchenette. It was very well located in near shops and restaurants. So if we would want to take them out, that would be very convenient. The woman who helped me, her name was Becky. She was very professional and very helpful.

Arbor Lakes was the one we put our name in. I found the staff very helpful. They took us up and showed us a unit that was empty (it was going to be filled the next day) so it was nice to be able to see one of the units. It’s a relatively new facility, so everything of course is fairly up to date. I would say we were favorably impressed that we signed our name. We didn’t put money down but we are on a waiting list. They have good lighting in the units. There are a lot windows and every unit faces outside and half of it faces a small lake. But things change and people have to go to a different level of care. That’s what we would like: to be able to go to independent living and then transition when we have to. There they have a beauty salon and fitness center, and they provide brunch -- which is a very complete meal -- from eight to ten, and then you can purchase other meals. The one brunch is included in the rent. The place is homey, very warm, and inviting. It’s also very close to quite a large shopping area.

The staff is conscientious, very sweet, loving, caring, and very nice. If we see an issue at all, it’s taken care of immediately. I haven’t had any major issues at all, it’s just that mom's memory is getting worse, and they have to take care of her. She’s not in the memory care unit yet -- she’s still in assisted living -- so she’s got a lot of care. There are a lot of activities: bingo, they have a theater room, a gathering space with coffee and cookies everyday at two, and they have happy hour on Fridays at two-thirty. They need to have a lot especially with my mother because she’s always had ADHD and had to be busy every moment of every day practically unless she’s not feeling well. They also have doctors that come in once a month. They've got Christian worship services on Sundays, Sunday matinee movies, pokeno, mahjong, poker, rummy, life health classes, lifestyle balance and fitness, shopping at Walmart (they go shopping once a week), and today they have a St. Croix brunch train ride trip. The place is absolutely gorgeous. Actually it looks like some of the smaller beautiful hotels we stay in when we go to Mexico or to Arizona. You walk in and there’s a double staircase with a huge fireplace in the middle going up to a balcony -- basically a landing -- and then you go up another five or six steps to the hallway where the residents are. They do have a memory care unit in that building which is on the main floor. It’s 4-stories high -- very clean and very classy. It’s beautiful! It’s worth a trip there. We could not honestly be happier. The director and assistant director are wonderful. My mother went in at Arbor Lake towards the end of July. It was a living nightmare for about six weeks; we thought it was going to be this way until she lost her memory completely and about a month ago now, she started saying that she really likes it here. She doesn’t remember when I’ve been there. My sister's there three to four times a week. She's had company four to five times a week. Some of her friends from here had come to see her. She’s happy. They’ve made her happy.

I thought Arbor Lakes apartment sizes were a lot bigger. My stepdad has been there since November. He's getting better care. The staff is pretty good. They have movie nights, card games, and outings.

We went to see Arbor Lakes and that place was absolutely gorgeous. It is new and fully booked. There you can live with your spouse who has dementia in an apartment complete with a little kitchen.
