A lot of the reason why we chose The Harbors Senior Living of Fridley was because of its location. It's very, very close to mom's family members, and for those who live close, it's easy to get to. Secondly, they have a lot of activities and it's just a lot of fun things going on and a fun atmosphere. They want her to fit into the memory care, and they're trying to make her comfortable. They're welcoming. From Monday through Friday, they have a lot going on. This month is Cowboy Month and the food is themed with it and there's live music and a lot of games. Today, they went on an outing to a sunflower farm. So, there's just a lot going on. If I can't get there, I know she's out of her room. It's very nice. They have a nice little courtyard, too.

First of all, when I got to The Harbors Senior Living of Fridley, nobody knew I was coming. The administrator that I spoke with didn't even realize I was coming. You walk into a tiny little dark room and there's no way to know how to even get inside the building. Fortunately, somebody was leaving, and so a door opened, and it got me to enter the building. And then a woman appeared and said she would take me on the tour. She didn't know I was coming either, but she was happy to take me on a tour of the entire facility. Although it was fairly new, to me it looked dark. I thought it was a bit depressing. I just didn't like the feel of the place. Everything was just much too dark. There was not enough light coming in. All the hallways were quite dark. The dining area was like three long tables. The people that I met were very chatty, very polite, and seemed like they were happy doing what they were doing. The only common area that I saw was the dining area and then another area where a few people were sitting while I was waiting to see the administrator. Everything seemed to be locked up. It just seemed very strange to me.

I have a family friend here and they are loving it! The activities director is AMAZING. She keeps them busy and provides a wide variety of opportunities for residents at all levels. The care and consideration shown for residents and their families is genuine. Lastly, they recently upgraded their menu with a new chef in the building - the food is fabulous!

I liked The Harbors Senior Living of Fridley's location. It looked like a nice, clean place. The woman I talked to in the office was very knowledgeable and made a good impression. The general appearance of the rooms was nice. They were good-sized and looked very clean. They take pride in how well that place was presented.

My tour experience at The Harbors Senior Living of Fridley was good. They were very helpful. I had callbacks when I called to ask more questions and I think the biggest thing about them was that they were willing to take my husband with his feeding tube as not many assisted living can handle our situation. Plus, it is a clean and decent place.

My sister-in-law is a resident of the assisted living level, and our experience so far has been very good. The staff is very caring and friendly, I like that it's integrated living and not just memory care in one ward. The level of staffing allows the patients to get the care they needed and also have the independence they could afford. When the residents want to get together, the community areas are very nice, they also have a crafts area and a nice area outside with a gazebo, benches, and chairs where they could go with visiting loved ones. Other people have told me that the food is very good. It also seems small and compartmentalized enough that you know your loved one would be well cared for. It's not too institutionalized. They're also upfront about the pricing, and there are no hidden add-ons, which makes people comfortable.
