They keep it 68°F in there in the spring and summer. The residents are so cold they have to lay under blankets. They offer no physical activities at all and any are rare. I was given Attitude by staff when I asked if they could give my Mom a Walk. They eat very little fresh food. My Mom is left to sleep all the day. It's not a horrible place. But things could easily be made much better.

My Grandmother had slow progressing dementia for nearly the last decade of her life, and though she retained her personality and desire for independence she needed assistance with daily tasks and her medical needs were too complicated for her. She settled in here very well, the staff were kind and polite and respected her independence while still providing her top quality care. The quality of the nursing care available here was impressive, compared to other facilities I had visited this one was the most professional. I'm really impressed with the improvements they've been making recently. I really appreciated everyone who worked there. Almond house was also not as expensive as some of the other options I looked into, and it was in a very nice area, my Grandmama was really very happy here. She had been depressed before she moved to this facility, but her mood greatly improved with the care and interaction she received here.

Almond House was a god-send for our mother. She left the nursing home where she was tied to a chair in the day room and made a fairly seamless transition to Almond House.(half the price of the nursing home, too) The professional nursing care was excellent. Daily care givers in the facility were kind and interacted with our mother. She actually improved her outlook in life over the course of time even though her dementia continued its deadly march. This is a great place.
