My parents moved to Walker Methodist Plaza. We chose that place because they're the only ones that could help my mom and my dad could live there with her when he doesn't need as much help. They seem to be very good, but for the amount of money that we paid, I think their response time could be a little better. They have all kinds of activities and offer a lot of stuff. They have a gym, a salon, all kinds of activity rooms, and a big place where you can have dinner with your whole family if you want. The food is also good. The service is not though.

Walker Methodist Plaza seemed nice and organized. The admissions person was very smart and helpful. It's a little more constrained by being downtown in the small town of Anoka, but everything looked nice. The dining area was reasonably good. They had group meetings, exercise classes, and field trips.

My sister was so excited about the apartments in Walker Plaza. The place is very nice and clean, and the staff is nice. It’s got great free parking for guests as well as for residents. The care was very good, and I would recommend it. They have something going on every day. They have a community room, exercise room, and roof-top terraces which you can go out on. They also have boxes to plant something, and you can have your own garden. There’s a café with different things to choose from, like if you want a sandwich, you can just get from there. Otherwise, you can eat in their dining area.

My Mother and Dad, Howard and Gertrude Leonhardt, lived at Walker Plaza for many years and loved it. It was a beautiful building with lots of amenities and large hallways and beautiful features. The staff were the most kind and friendly people, who helped to make Walker Plaza a comforting home. There were lots of activities and programs daily which the residents enjoyed tremendously. Mom and Dad loved the dining and choice of lunch or dinner. They loved the amenities such as their apartment cleaned and laundry taken care of. They enjoyed sitting in the lounging areas with their neighbors and chatting. They enjoyed bingo every Saturday evening. Every month there was a birthday party celebration for the residents with loads of entertainment. Walker Plaza hosted a annual pancake breakfast for residents and the public. Their daughter, Mary, volunteered each year for the pancake breakfast and loved chatting with the public. Walker Plaza, being in the heart of the quaint town of Anoka, had many conveniences for the residents. A walk up town was a beauty stroll. Gertrude lived to be 101 years old. Mother loved the beauty shop and little store within the Plaza. Her last year was spent at Camilia Rose Care Center in Coon Rapids, which she loved also. But her memories of Walker Plaza kept her love for it alive and beautiful. Thank you Walker Plaza and all the staff and residents that Mother so loved. God bless you all.

Walker Methodist was nice, and everybody was nice and friendly. It’s close to downtown. They got a lady tap dancing when we there, and that was fun. They’ve got a bus that can take you places. I didn’t put my name on the list because I need to pay.

Walker Plaza is a better building, and it looked nicer. I liked the fact that it was obviously clean -- spotless actually -- and they welcomed me. It was very open door and hospitable, and the staff was very polite and honest. They have patios, and they showed me a room of what my room would look like. They had happy hour, they were serving liquor, and I just really liked it.

The people in Walker at Anoka were really nice. I would have said Walker is the one I would have like. They said there was only about a six month wait, but about a year and something into it, there wasn't any opening. It is the nicest place I have seen. It is really the nicest looking place. The staff is really nice. The apartment is nice looking with a big closet. Everything is new in there. You had your own little kitchen and little cubby and stuff. You have a full sized stove and full sized fridge. You can see that everything is up-to-date, and everything is new looking. Everything is really immaculate there.

Walker Methodist Plaza is a fairly large complex. The staff there was extremely nice, and I love them for that. The building itself was a little dated. They look like it could use some updating -- not that it was falling apart -- but very outdated as far as the woodwork and the carpeting. The rooms were OK. The apartments were OK. We did get a chance to eat there, and the food was phenomenal; it was very good.

I am in the independent living part of Walker Plaza. The director invited me to come over to the facility and I walked in and I liked the place. We have all kinds of things that you can do here. We have Bible study, creativity classes, dance exercise classes, and there's Yoga class. They also have parties off and on for birthdays. The staff are wonderful and very kind. They know everybody and it feels like it’s a miracle to me.
