When we walked into The Estates at Arbor Oaks, the residents were there visiting in a little sitting spot. They were very friendly and everybody seemed happy. The elevator was right there by the door, which was nice. You don't have to walk down a long hallway. Then we met the director and she was very outgoing and friendly. There are three floors and that concerned us a bit, but then we decided that we could figure that one out. We took a tour of the community rooms that were on the first floor. We saw a bistro, kind of a public area, where they have some snacks and happy hour. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, you can go to this bistro and purchase lunch if you wish. There's a light continental breakfast available every morning. A washer and dryer are in the rooms, which we wanted. We looked at a two bedroom and it comes with a full kitchen and granite countertops. It was presented well. It was clean and ready to move in for the next person. I liked that it feels like you're not in a big city. Andover has a lot of wetland and the back side faces this wetland and they put screens on the balconies and that's OK because of the mosquitoes in there. We wanted to have a balcony and it's just nice to have that. The front side has sunshine all day long, so that side would be tough. It looks like people have to have their shades down all the time. If we ended up on that side, that would be the only thing that wouldn't be as favorable to us. The main floor had a little way to get out to a little sitting area outside your apartment. That was also nice. We liked that feeling of that. There's extra storage available, they would take pets, and they have light housekeeping each week. All the utilities are paid for, except if you have a plug-in type of phone. I liked the place. It just came out as fresh, clean, sunny, and friendly. They have three lunches a week, and it's like a Monday, Wednesday, Friday. They have specials. They have a fitness room that was kind of nice that you could go down to and an outdoor barbecue. There were just a lot of different things.

The Estates at Arbor Oaks was nice. It was a smaller building, which was nice because you got to know the people around you and the people on your floor. The rooms were a nice size and you had your washer and dryer in it. They all had decks and some had screened-in porches. The grounds were nice and there was a pond in the back. They had an outside area for picnics and barbecues. They even had the firemen come out once a year there and they would have a big barbecue for them. There was a painting class going on while we were there. They also had a puzzle room.
