My mom was at SKLD Wyoming (formerly Heartland Health Care Center-crestview) for one week. The admissions lady, Kristie, was beautiful. She was nice and I had an excellent experience with her. Some of the staff were nice too, but some of them shouldn't even be working there, especially with elderly people that have had mental issues. My mom had an episode and their explanation to me was that there was a full moon, that's why they believe the other three residents, besides my mom, were having an episode. That's the kind of mentality that the staff had who was working with my mom on August 22nd at night. They were talking about a full moon instead of looking and seeing what her medical records said, and they were ready to send her back to the hospital. There were two phones in the room that she was in, and hers never worked. I reported the phone not working the day that she went in, which was August 14th, and it was August 22nd, but it still wasn't working. She was only there one week, so the cost didn't amount to a lot, but it's enough that I don't think she got the care that she should have had. It was a clean and nice building though, I think it just had more to do with the staff.

The staff at Heartland Health Care Center Crestview was good. There are caregivers during the week who take care of mom on a regular basis. The room she had was for four people but now she is in a room for two people and it serves its purpose. My mom is very picky and she wants her food served in her room. I don’t think they have enough nurses for the number of patients that they have right now.
