My mother in-law was in another facility for over two years and the quality of service never matched the amount we were paying. Since she moved to America House, Venoy in Westland there is a world of difference in her care. She is always clean, her room has no odor, her attitude is almost 100% better. She said, these people are good to me and I couldn’t ask for better people to care for me.

American House Westland Venoy was decorated beautifully. It's clean. They were extremely friendly and super nice. It's just the cost. It's $2500 when you could get a studio for $1300 in another place. That's an extreme difference. The staff seemed wonderful. The atmosphere seemed very cozy and welcoming. The sizes of the rooms were decent and the layout was good.

We went to look at the American House Westland Venoy. The outside was nice. It looked like a nice area for folks to sit out and visit. The facility was smaller than I thought. People were working the whole time we were there to keep it clean. The staff was very nice. The way she presented herself made me want to have a tour, but when we had the tour, I didn't have the same feeling. It wasn't very enjoyable. When we toured, they were just cleaning up some lunch. The residents that were there seemed to enjoy it. They had a nice sitting room with a television. They had a list on the wall of the activities that were going on that day, which was nice. It looked like they had a good variety to entertain all sorts of folks. I think they need to be more upfront in the initial conversation with the interested parties. Had I known that some of the things that I needed for my brother weren't available, it would have made me decide whether or not I would come and visit. It's an old building. It's the first American house that was ever constructed in the 1960s, so it needs updating. The room we looked at didn't have any air conditioning, but it had a great sliding door to the outside patio. If we wanted an air conditioner, they would have to block off that door and insert a window air conditioner in that door.

We went to American House Westland Venoy. Their rooms were very small. It was a very nice facility. The staff was very nice. The studio was tiny, but the other room had a kitchenette and was bigger. It didn't have any cooking facility in that small room, that's why I think they offer the three meals a day. If you get that small room it's just a room and a bathroom. They had a lot of activities. They take them places. They had two dining rooms and that part was nice. The cost was cheaper. It was an older facility, but it's all one story.

I liked American House Westland Venoy the best. We enjoyed the tour because the facility was so nice and clean. It was a smaller place which is what we liked because she'd have a hard time getting around a bigger place. The dining room was pretty much central and not too far from any of the rooms, which was nice. They're doing a remodel of their studios with a walk-in shower, and that's what we'd like also. We liked the people that work there including Donna, the lady that showed us around. They were very helpful. It didn't look that terrific on the outside, but on the inside, it looked nice. They had a library, drawings, and paintings, a bus to take you to the store or the bank, and they had a medical team on site.

I have visited American House Westland Venoy. It was a modest place. When we went on the tour with my family, the workers were very kind, and you could tell that the residents were well cared for. The rooms are small, which we expected because it's a more modest place, but the director spent over an hour with us, telling us about all the details and the place. She spent a lot of time with us, and we were impressed with that. They had a lot of activities like playing cards, and games, sometimes they'll have a little music, and they'll have together time. There is quite a variety of activities. The rooms were small, but they were neat and clean, and that's what's important.

I went to American House Westland Venoy. it's very nice and very clean. It's just everything that I think would be fine for my sister. When I went it was for memory care, and it was very nice. Everything was clean. Another thing that really got me when I walked in there, it did not smell like a hospital or anything like that. It was a very pleasant smell, and everything was so nice. The residents seemed to be happy. They were clean, and everybody was doing what they were supposed to. Some people were sitting around just enjoying the Saturday. They were getting ready for breakfast. The workers seemed really nice. The lady that gave me the tour was very nice and helpful. She showed me the room if my sister was going to move in. Everything was so nice to me. It didn't really feel like a nursing facility or anything like that. It just had a comfortable feeling. They have different activities, and they have an outdoor area where you can go like a patio area. It was really nice. I got there so early, so I didn't really see activities. Everybody was dressed and preparing for the morning. The room was a nice size where my sister could take her 70-inch TV. You have to bring your own bed, but she has a hospital bed in her house. They had a hospital bed there too, that they said they would leave it there if my sister needed it. They didn't have an air conditioner in the room, but they have it out in the common areas. They had a huge ceiling fan, and they had built-ins where you really didn't even need a dresser. They had a built-in that would have been perfect where you could hang clothes up, and it had drawers where you could put stuff. They don't provide snacks, but I saw where some residents had a mini refrigerator. It was a nice idea. The place was clean and really nice. I was very impressed.

We chose American House Westland Venoy for my uncle because it is nice, clean, and the people are friendly. It's also close to where I live. He is in their assisted living, and his room is very nice and clean. The staff is also very nice. I would recommend them to someone else. It's a nice and presentable place. The food looks fine, but I have not eaten it. He does not complain about it. They play games, music, and card games. They put puzzles together. They also have movie nights.

The American House Westland Venoy was horrible. I went into the one-second building because they have two buildings and it just stunk like poop. It just wasn't a nice place. I wouldn't stay there. You just pull in and it just doesn't look like anything. I walked in and it was just like big cement blocks. It had no atmosphere to it. The dining room was nice. The lady was nice. She didn't put much effort into it. I wanted to turn around and leave, but she was going to show me around. I didn't want to be rude. The second building where it's more independent living was dressed up nicer. So it's like if you were able to take care of yourself, you had a nicer-looking place. But it also smelled like poop and in the other place they locked down their people that have memory problems, which I can understand. I just wouldn't recommend it to anybody. They have a small fridge, they have a stove which is ridiculous because they don't work. It's just the two little electric burners, but they do not have them hooked up because they don't want the people -- maybe in the very beginning, they used to use them. I think they probably must have learned that you can't let senior citizens in places like that cook, and you bring your own microwave.

I was quite pleased with my tour of American House Westland Venoy. The place was very, very clean, the staff are very nice, and the rooms are nice. Some of the tenants that were already in there, seem very happy and well taken care of. The dining rooms were very pretty, but I wasn't there during mealtime. But just being there, I felt good about the place. The staff was excellent, the place was very well-maintained. I didn't see anything that needed anything done, the hallways we walked in, the courtyard, everything was nice. The front is very well-kept and landscaped.

I visited American House Westland Venoy and was very pleased with them because they do memory care there. The staff and the place were very clean and nice. It was all on one level. The courtyard was beautiful. They decorated it really nicely for Halloween. It was a really nice place. This was the most impressive one I've seen. For as big as it was, it was just a small place. The staff was very impressive and very helpful. We fell in love with it. My decision would have been the American House Westland Venoy overall alone because it's just bigger staff, because of the activities that they were offering, and the security of the rooms and everything, so we were really impressed with that. As far as funds, it was reasonable and in our budget.

My husband is at American House Westland Venoy, and I can't really complain. I don't have no negativity as far as him being there. The physical appearance of the place is good. I'm not gonna say it's modern, but it's well-kept. The staff is courteous and very informative. He gets breakfast there, but sometimes he doesn't want to eat it. There are days when it's good, and there are days when he doesn't eat his meals. They have a calendar of activities. They do coloring, toss basketball, exercise video, and puzzles; he doesn't really participate. I wish it could be cheaper. They have amenities like a salon. I think maybe he could use another light, but he's got a little lamp. They also have a garden patio. Right now, they got it decorated for Halloween.

I visited American House Westland Venoy. It was very closed off, as far as a public or common area, where those patients could come and sit outside of their room. It was a small area. We observed a couple of patients. The staff ratio there seemed low, but the other thing is, that's a very old facility. It was built in 1979, and it was needing updating. It's kind of worn-out looking, and not very cheerful for the area that any patient would be there. It just didn't give a real good feeling and good impression. We saw the dining room and met with the administrator in her office, and she walked us back to the memory care section. There was a really small room that they had set up as a dining room for those patients, with a table that had six chairs. I don't even imagine that six people could be there. She mentioned that they would be included in activities as they were interested in participating. I would imagine it would have to do with crafts, but there wasn't anything presented to us together because it was very small. She gave us a menu that showed food for a month. It looked like they had standard meals. We walked by the kitchen, but everything there was narrow hallways and dark. The lighting was bad; it just wasn't a good impression. They were charging for the memory care units almost as much as another facility. If I was choosing based on my budget, I think I would go with the other one because it just was more open, fresher, cheerful and everything. This one was depressing. We saw the administrator, and in passing in the hallway, we saw one staff member who was assisting a resident, but there wasn't any introduction or anything.

I like that the memory care center at American House Westland Venoy is secure. When I went in on the initial fact-finding mission, during the appointment, the lady was caring. She seemed to know everybody's name, she was informative and I just got a really good feeling from her. She gave us both a good, warm feeling. And then she took us on a tour and I was impressed with how clean and neat everything seemed to be. We just liked it. None of this memory care is inexpensive, but their price was fair and their location was perfect for us as well. My dad is in memory care. I saw one meal delivered and my dad said it was awful. That's all I know. But it could be that it was just something he didn't like. Overall, I feel like this is a good place for him and I'm happy with it. Even though all of his care is expensive, I would say that the value is there.

We went to American House Westland Venoy. It's nice, it's close by, and the person who gave us the tour was very nice, professional, and thorough. The rooms were like small, one-bedroom apartments. They were very nice and clean. The dining area was also nice. The facility has a friendly atmosphere, and people would say "hi" as you walked by.

The medical team and all the staff have everything covered. From the housekeeping and everything, they're all-inclusive. So far, the staff is pleasant and informing. My mother's room is almost complete, they've done some work with the painting and everything so things are almost in order. They're starting to do a few activities but they're still on lockdown because of the virus.

My friend moved in. It's good, and yesterday she seemed to be making friends now. Overall her experience is good, she's eating three meals a day now, and she's taken care of.

It was fine and clean. I didn’t have any complaints. We liked it and put a deposit down, but my in-law decided he didn’t want to do it. They offered us a dinner, which was good, so it was very nice. The staff was very nice.

I visited and did not care for it. The room was small and had just one room with a bathroom and a little kitchen counter. They were also expensive compared to where my mom is right now. I did not care for the staff, either. We waited 20 minutes for somebody to take us on a tour.

We visited and they gave out a lot of information, and answered all of the questions. The rooms were fabulous. It was a really nice place. Everybody was very nice. The atmosphere was very warm, and inviting. I saw a therapist giving therapy to someone, and they were doing exercises in a room.

It was OK. However, they only had a few spots for assisted living. The place was a little bit older and not as spacious as the other ones I’d been to. Because it was an older building, you could tell that the rooms weren’t as spacious. The staff was great. They answered our questions. As best I can remember, the place was clean, but it was just an old buliding.

We were interested because it was close to my father's home and a couple of places he like to go, so we thought that if we had to get him transportation, it would be easier than to have him going out of the area. It was important for him to stay close to the area that he's familiar with. I thought everybody was OK. The room was small. They have efficiencies and studios, which are the cheast and bigger rooms yet was still only a one room with a kitchenette and a small refrigerator. The food was good, and the staff seemed friendly. I liked the location and the price. They had bingo, play cards and have entertainment that comes in every once in a while. They did have an Activity Director there. They do exercises in wheelchairs; it was all wheelchair-based because there were a lot of people in wheelchairs. I think it would be nice to have a full-sized refrigerator instead of the little refrigerator. They were in the process of painting, which I think will help make the area a little more welcoming.

It had very pleasant staff. It was clean and affordable. One thing I really liked about it was the medical care. It seemed like they were responsive to the residents’ medical needs. I think it is a good assisted living place.

I visited and it was a very positive experience. The staff was very friendly, and the place was very clean. All in all, it was nice, but the rooms were a little small. They had a sign-up sheet going to the baseball game, to the local farmers market, and to other different events that happen in our city. They also had rehab coming in, and they had a beauty shop and barber shop within the facility. I didn't have an appointment, but the woman was kind enough to show me the facility. She told me to be back to eat supper if I wanted to. They did have a place where visitors needed to check in and check out, and I was under the impression that someone was in the front office 24 hours.

It was a very nice place, and the people were nice. However, I didn’t get to see the memory care unit, which is what I needed and have acquired if I was going to put my loved one in that type of facility. They did show me a unit, and they said it would be comfortable to whatever would be in the memory care unit, but I didn’t get to see the part that I needed to see. It was a self-contained room that included a bathroom within the room. It had a separate bathroom, but it was within that unit, and other than that, it was just a large room. It was community dining, and it looked-like it was inviting; however again, I am not sure if the people that would be a part of the memory care part of the facility would have eaten in the community dining room. The place did not meet my needs because I didn’t really get to see what I was looking for, but overall it was a very nice place. The residents that were partaking of the community dining seemed like they were well adjusted.

It was good. The staff was awesome. They took really good care of my great aunt there. She got all her meds as needed. They wheeled her to activities and made sure that she was participating as much as she could. The atmosphere was very nice. It was homey. The rooms were very spacious and very accommodating. They were definitely wheelchair accessible. They have wheeled-in bathrooms. They're really nice.

It was clean, and they had nice rooms. They didn’t have extra care like giving medicine without the extra cost. It was an old building, and the neighborhood was not in a very good area, but it was pretty safe. The dining room was really nice.

I feel confident that my relative is in a safe, clean, and caring environment. My father-in-law is a quite individual whom takes enjoys the privacy he can maintain and when he is the mood participates in the outings that are scheduled. When I visit the staff are friendly and attentative. When I have brought a concern to them it was addressed immediatly. I felt as they were watching over a member of their family.
