My family member was consistently threatened to be thrown out and it was continually held over their head. They say they have a doctor that comes in to see residents. The doctor never showed up and there was no communication on medicine changes that the supposed doctor’s nurse recommended. Facility looks good when touring - but don’t let looks deceive you. Would not recommend this facility at all.

Bay Ridge was nice. It’s very big; probably the biggest I've seen. I got the feeling that the rooms were small, but we have lots of friends there, and they say it’s really nice and enjoy it. You can sit out in the backyard and watch the buffalo go by. There’s a buffalo farm right across the creek, and it’s very interesting to watch them.

We have my mother-on-law on a waiting list for Bay Ridge. It's very clean. It's a very pretty facility. I think she will very much enjoy the food there. All the employees eat there because the food is so good, and I thought breakfast was beautiful. I think for the older people, food is kind of a highlight of the day so that looked very good. They have the full range of care and the nice thing, too, is that my mother-in-law has dementia so if she ends up later on needing more care, they'll just move her basically to another wing so she'll barely have to move and the price was not considerably more to do that. We saw people in the dining area, and they were pleasant. We were there later, and they were allowing some of the residents to have a late breakfast for those who don't like to get up early in the day. It was nice to see that the staff was very accommodating to the residents and the residents seemed to be enjoying it.

When i went and visited my grandmother at Bay Ridge, i was very impressed. The facility was very clean, cozy, and had a comfortable feel to it. The staff seemed really friendly. They answered all the my questions very professionally and were very tactful. The staff was great even when my grandmother was in one of her moods and was not so nice to them. That takes a lot to be that nice when someone is being mean. My grandmother seems to really enjoy living there. She told me that she likes the food, but sometimes can't remember what she ate. She just says that if i didn't like the food, i will not eat it and since i ate it, it must be good. I am glad there is someone to watch over her. The nurses are good about getting her medications for her. They are also good about making sure she takes the right doses. She has the freedom to do what she wants. And my family has relief knowing that she is in good hands.

I used to visit my great grandfather once a month during his stay at Bay Ridge. The staff was friendly, however I did notice frequent staff changes. I wish my grandfather would have had the opportunity to established a better connection with the staff. Also, I would have liked to see more interaction between staff and family relatives. Any information that can be shared among family members, should be shared! Information such as, current mood, or maybe medication changes that would cause irritable or different behavior. It wasn't possible for me to visit my grandfather every day, and as a result I want to know how he has been doing for last few weeks. Overall, my grandfather never seemed unhappy with Bay Ridge. It allowed him to have the freedom he needed, but also allow his family...including me, feel a great deal better knowing he was safe. My grandfather was also a very stubborn man, the nurses were great, but perhaps a little too forgiving with him. He tended to sugar-coat how he was feeling on any given day, I wish he would have been monitored a little closer. In the end my grandfather was happy, therefore I was happy for him.
