My father moved into Brookdale Southfield the first week of March. I like that it's a close location. There's 24-hour staff there and available. They try to get to know him and familiarize themselves with me as I come to him. The building looks well-kept. Physically, it smells nice in the lobby and open areas. The public bathrooms are clean. Overall, the cleanliness is within standards. They have movie nights and game nights. They take field trips to the store, to the casino or sporting events. They take group trips out to go shopping. Overall, they have a nice blend of activities. They have live music and musicians coming in. They try to keep people connected with technology so they don't fall too far behind. I've had issues with making sure that payments are set up like a system to set up automatic payments and their responsiveness when it came to setting up transportation for the first time. It wasn't the smoothest process. But I enjoy the staff that I interact with regularly. I like the way they take care of him and take care of the other people, if they could be smoother on the backend, that'd be great.

Do NOT bring your loved one to Brookdale Southfield. Although the facility looks nice the administrative staff are not focused on the customers.

I toured Brookdale Southfield. I enjoyed it. They have a nice facility. They have a very welcoming group of people, who are interested in answering any questions that you have, because this is usually a big move for most people. But they were very, very helpful. I'm interested in a one-bedroom. I have a cat and they have a screened-in porch, which makes it very nice because then she can be outside a little bit without being in the wild. It's very very well thought out. There's a very nice closet space and it's a very nice community.

I toured Brookdale Southfield. I liked the area because I knew the area. I enjoyed the experience of what they showed me. And I was very happy, I wanted to go there but my money was a little short on that end. The area was very nice. The unit that I saw was very nice. Everything I liked about it, it was just a little bit too much. It was taking all my money. I wouldn't have any money to spend. The staff was trying to make a sale, and she made a good sale because I wanted to go there first. They have a nice, little patio.

Brookdale Southfield was nice. The coordinator, she was nice, and she showed me around. They're way up there in price, but if I had to choose one, that would have been Brookdale. The apartment was nice, it was spacious. The refrigerator and dishwater, it was just everything you want in an apartment. The staff was quite helpful, asked me if I had any questions,s and stuff like that. And she just filled me in on what they do. And they have a lot of activities for the seniors. Brookdale had everything to offer, and it's very clean and very neat.

I toured Brookdale Southfield. It had a very nice atmosphere, and it looked great. It had a lot of amenities. The food and everything were included. The laundry was included. It had a nice library, a game room, a movie room, an exercise room, a pool, a barber shop, and a hairdresser. They had a courtyard with a fire pit. They also had transportation services. The staff was very nice. She did a great job taking us around. The dining area was very nice. It was like a high-end restaurant. The studio room was small but nice and decent.

My mom is a resident of Brookdale Southfield. It's pleasant and comfortable. It's a great layout. The layout of the one-bedroom is fine. It's clean. It was painted nicely and carpeted. The only issue I had with the room was that the closet door was not secure. The staff was nice. They're friendly. They offer a lot of activities to their residents. There's lots of variety. They have outings to grocery stores and doctor's visits. They go to the casino a lot. They have in-house activities like classes for yoga and Tai chi. They have holiday music with a live person, which is nice. My mom likes the food, but it's a little salty. I've seen their menu, but I've never tasted it. The concierge is great, and the housekeeping is great, but they're way overpriced. I think they can improve by providing better training for their sales team. The handling of resident issues, if they could be more efficient with that, it would be great. The issue I have with them is causing a lot of anxiety at the moment, and it's all related to an increase in rent for someone who has only lived there less than three months. It's unnecessarily extremely high.

I've toured Brookdale Southfield. The overall experience was great. The tour guide and the staff were really helpful, very professional, pleasant, and welcoming. The facility was top-notch. The cleanliness, the accessibility for my mom, and the amenities that would be afforded to her were really, really outstanding. It's actually one of the top choices on our list thus far. The apartments were nice. The size was perfect for a senior as far as downsizing. My mom would have just enough space to have her necessities. They staged the room to give you an idea as to how you can set it up, and it was nice. They have a medical professional on staff 24 hours. They have a swimming pool and a workout facility. They have a monthly calendar of the different activities that they could participate in. They have a transportation service three times a week that would take the seniors to get their necessities, like to Target and the grocery store. They have a theater onsite where they host movie nights. They have a patio area where they have roasted marshmallows and did s'mores making. They have arts and crafts. It was so much. But what stood out most to me was how comfortable my mom was during the tour. She just walked away from us, and she felt like she was home, so that was great for us to know that she would be comfortable and at peace living there. That gave us peace as well. We did not try their food. Unfortunately, we came right when the chef was cleaning up for breakfast and preparing for lunch, so we were not able to do that. But another amenity outside of the main dining hall was like a deli facility. Say, if my mom didn't want to eat her food in her apartment or participate in the dining hall, she could go around to the deli and get a sandwich. They have like wing dings and things of that nature, so that is an extra amenity that she likes. The person who gave us the tour was awesome. She knows that we're interested in selecting Brookdale for our mom, but she makes it a point that she follows up with us at least on a biweekly basis to offer her services, and if there's anything she can do to sway our decision to come over and stay with her. She's good at her job.

I toured Brookdale Southfield and I like the setup. I think it's nice and clean, and the staff was friendly. The rooms were nice. I kind of liked the fact that they got balconies where you can sit outside on the porch. Some places even have balconies, and some don't, but they have balconies on the end of the building where you can go out and see if you have to be outside and you don't want to come downstairs. Overall, the place was immaculate. The dining area was nice and clean. I didn't get a chance to eat anything because I came in between snacks. I like the layout in the back where you go sit outside if you want to come downstairs and sit under the canopy. During warm weather, I like to be outside pretty much. They got a sauna and a whirlpool. They got a swimming pool area and I thought that was a good feature. They have a snack room if you have a taste for some snacks after dinner hours. You could take the elevator downstairs, too.

Brookdale Southfield is an excellent community. It is well-maintained and they have a very friendly staff. The accommodations and amenities are wonderful. We got a chance to see the residents engaged in just about every portion of Brookdale Southfield. The dining halls, activities centers, libraries, and even the outside walkways and areas were well maintained. Everything was very, very well done. I thought the facilities were excellent. As you enter, they have a very beautiful welcoming lobby area for the guests/residents. So, it's very accessible and very comfortable. We also got a chance to see the efficiencies, one-bedroom, two and three-bedroom. We visited a former neighbor who's a resident there that knows my mom and that went very well. We had a tour and afterward an ample time for questions and explaining how life at Brookdale Southfield would be. So, my family and I were very pleased. We learned about the weekly schedule and transportation, which days were for banking, shopping, and doctor's appointments. There are exercise activities, a pool, games, and a room with theater seating which could also double as a concert area where they have local artists from time to time come in and perform. There were lots of puzzle tables and small room activities to do crafts. The dining area was superb. Not only that it's aesthetically beautiful, but it looks very clean. There's also a second-floor dining room (not just on the main floor) for residents who aren't able to travel or don't wish to come down, which I thought was a nice option. The rooms were very modern. They have pull cords in the bed area and the restroom. The kitchen area is well-designed with accessibility for wheelchairs and walkers. I think it's very well-placed, even for a one-bedroom unit. The two ladies who toured us around were very patient. We got a folder on the completion of our visit that explained everything that we saw and visited. I liked having those take-home packets so that we can go back and review what we saw.

I was there at Brookdale Southfield at 10:30 in the morning and there wasn't much going on. I just saw maybe five people who had come down to the main area to sit, but they weren't talking. I didn't get any kind of impression of activity or socializing, which is a very important part of what I'm looking for. Other than that, it was a very pretty place. It was well-planned as far as the walls and the safety of the bathrooms, They were very nice people, but mainly, the financing was extremely high for me. The lady who assisted me was very new. She was an assistant. She was very nice, but she couldn't answer my questions. I had the option of coming back the next week and meeting with the actual person who was in charge, but by that time I was on a trip. I would come back if they contacted me for an activity, because she said they give afternoon teas and have social occasions where they invite prospective guests to come. Everything was very clean, very well kept, and the halls were quite wide to accommodate wheelchairs. There was one resident we talked to who was in a wheelchair going into her apartment, and she was very happy about living there. The bathrooms were very nice and complete. The cleanliness of the place impressed me. The one bedroom, one bath, had a kitchen that would be adequate for heating pre-prepared meals and breakfast. It's beautiful. There are lots of places where you could sit outside when the weather's changed.

I loved all the ladies at Brookdale Southfield. It was wonderful. The people were friendly; that includes the staff, the maintenance, and the residents. We were really comfortable with my grandmother going there. The only thing we had issue with was the finance part, and that she needed more care (not just independent living). I would love to live there myself if I was in this situation; it is a very nice place. They have all the activities that she would have needed, like therapy, swimming, and sit down aerobics. It was very well maintained, and the apartments were gorgeous. They even had a deli, a beauty shop, and everything that she would have loved. When you walk in, there's a beautiful piano too. Some of the residents had wonderful little doggies, and so the other residents enjoyed that. T hey offered us dinner and said that when she comes in, we could invite ten people of her choice to come, sit, and have dinner with them. We didn't get to that point.

I thought that Brookdale Southfield is a very nice place. I thought they offer a lot of services that my mom could use. However, it was just too big for her. She would be on the 7th floor, and I just couldn't see her getting around; so it's not conducive for her. The staff was good and what they had to offer was nice. It just didn't meet our needs. The staff that helped me during the tour was excellent. They don't have dining yet because of COVID. They have a nice dining room, a billiards room, a place of some sort for socializing with a piano, and an outside courtyard. It was a very nice place.

My sister moved into Brookdale Southfield. The facility is nice, and they have a well-structured program. The staff is very supportive, and the food seems to be of nice quality. I liked the programming and the activities. They have movies, games, and concerts. They provide cleaning services, and that seems to be well done.

Brookdale Southfield was nice. It's an independent living apartment. I only met one of the staff, and she just seemed to be very personable. It was very clean and neat. They had three meals a day, a lounge, an exercise room, and they had trips for the seniors. It was a good location because it's close to me.

Our experience having my great uncle at Brookdale Southfield so far has been very good, and we're pleased. We pretty much like everything. The community is great, and everybody is pretty much active there. I like the fact that they can age in place, so they have assisted living services and home healthcare services. I also love the fact that they have a lot of activities in-house, but they also have a lot of outings. In fact when you go in, you can see people making it like their home. There are always people sitting out and having a conversation, there are people outside, or in the library, and doing arts and crafts. The citizens seem to like the activities that they have going on. The staff is amazing. They know my voice even when I call, and if anything is wrong they call me. I like the fact that there's a doctor and nurses on-site.

I like Brookdale Southfield. The rooms were good. The staff who toured me was great. It's more geared towards senior living and for someone a little younger than my mom. She needs assisted living and she could've gotten that there, but it was geared towards someone who is a little more mobile and active. It was great, and if she was 10 years younger, we would've probably considered it because it's cheaper than others.

I chose Brookdale Southfield because it's multi-cultural, it's warm, loving, and friendly so far. So far, I don't see anything negative. There's always a variety of apartments to choose from. My husband and I chose something based on availability and we're satisfied with it.

Brookdale Southfield is gorgeous and looked like a four-star hotel. It really is quite beautiful, and they keep the grounds up outside. They also keep up the inside and it's clean considering all the people in there. The meals mostly are very good, nutritious, and cooked well, but every now and then, it's not so good. They do use a lot of fresh food and not canned stuff. I feel very good about eating there. I'm basically vegetarian, but I never have any trouble getting full. The apartments are all different. I have a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment. When you walk in, to your right is the second bathroom and the guest bedroom, and there's also a linen closet in the hallway. The previous tenant had a washer and dryer, so I have that. The living room/dining room combo is pretty good. To the left is my bedroom, bathroom, a big walk-in closet, and there's a galley kitchen. I've got windows in every room, so it's nice, light, and bright. I have a balcony, so it's a gorgeous apartment. The place has a swimming pool and sauna. We have a Wii, Bingo, Poker, different arts and crafts, people who come in and entertain a minimum of two nights a week, Happy Hour two days a week, they serve wine during one of our meals, exercises, yoga classes, Tai chi classes, we go to the casino twice a month, and they take us shopping at one of the grocery stores at least three times a week. They go to the theater and movies once a week. They have Bridge on Fridays, card tables, a pool hall, knitting room, and a library with computers. They have religious services a couple of times a week and current events.

My mom moved into Brookdale. The staff is friendly, helpful, and they do what they say they're going to do in a timely manner. They exercise, they have concerts, lectures, and card playing clubs. There's a private duty assistant to help out, so she's not alone all the time. They have a beauty salon, and they arrange transportation for doctors' appointments.

Brookdale Southfield was good. The rooms were very nice because they have kitchenettes. They had many activities available on a daily basis, and the amenities are first class. The grounds were nice, but there was limited space. The dining area was very nice.

First bad experience with Brookdale. A week ago I reported that the closet door in my brother-in-laws room needed to be repaired. When I returned this week the door was not repaired. I went to report the problem at the front desk, I was abruptly and not to pleasantly told not to talk about what happened last week just report what I wanted fixed. Fixing the door more timely is one problem but being told not to mention that a week has gone by and nothing has been done is totally disrespectful.

Brookdale Southfield is wonderful if you're in independent living, but if you require assisted living, I would not recommend this place. It provides daily entertainment for the residents throughout the year. There are several activities that seniors can do as long as they're independent. The care providers that they have on staff are horrible. The in-house care staff needs better training and more education so they can provide care to residents who require it. Right now, no one can puree food for the residents.

We looked at Brookdale, which we really liked. The rooms were fantastic, and all of the activities were great, but it was a little bit pricey for my dad. They did have an elevator, and my dad would still be able to get around there, but the only drawback was the price. They had a lot of activities going on, a nice big library, and a lot of community areas where people get together. It was large and spacious. We were very pleased with it.

Brookdale Southfield, I think, is the one of the best locations. I would want my own mother to go there, too, except that her needs are not so advanced; which precludes her from going there. I think it really helps to promote the level of dignity that aging would need so Brookdale Southfield is like at the top for me. It’s kind of expensive, but I feel that if you could afford it, it’s certainly worth it; compared to other places that sometimes even cost the same amount. Everyone who I talked to was really friendly, and helpful.

It's a large complex with over 200 apartments. There was a program going on at the time I was there at Brookdale Southfield. The apartment was nicely appointed. They had a little grocery store and a snack bar area there. However, it is high cost. The staff was very professional, and the people that I came in contact with were friendly and helpful. The people were busy and seemed to be moving around and active.

The rooms were nice, and the food was good, but the care team was bad. We liked everything about this one but the care team. My dad probably would still be staying at Brookdale Southfield if they had a decent care team. I can say the food was good, and the rooms were excellent. Their facilities and activities were good. The care team, the housekeeping, and all that was zero.

I liked Brookdale a lot; it was nice and newer. I thought the facility was better than the other two places I visited. There seemed to be a little more activity, and it seemed to be a fresher and new environment. The menus looked nice. My mom would need a soft menu, and they said they could accommodate her because they have alternate selections. They require you to go down to the dining room to have dinner.

I don't like the setup at Brookdale Southfield, and the staff was not very friendly. The dining area was OK, and the rooms were good, but the kitchen just feels so small. They were playing something down in the dining area, but I don't like it because if the patient can't get down there or doesn't feel like going down to the dining area, he won't get a chance to eat. The place was decent, but they just need to change their menu. The staff during the tour was OK; I thought you're supposed to see some helpers for the patients, but I didn't see that.

I came across it by going online. I like it, and that place is very nice. The only thing is the price is very high. The staff is friendly, and they knew their clients by name. The rooms and apartments were nice and clean. It was a while back, but I do remember that I was impressed with the place. The library and the meeting area and all those places are really nice. They have a store in there so the elderly don't have to leave the building to go get little things. The dining area was clean, but the seats were made of cloth which kind of have an odor in them. Someone is sitting at the front desk, but it could probably get some better security measures.

We saw the amenities, and we saw what they offered, but it was a little expensive. We couldn't afford it for my parents. The staff did very well. They showed me and mother around. They had doctors there, and they could go downstairs to see them. They have people that come and check on them.

My parent moved into this facility about a month ago. After the initial visit we thought it would be a great place for him. It looked very nice and they said all the right things. Well a month later we found out that they were handling my parent roughly and giving him his medicine at the wrong times of the day. After being told they continued to do it. We were recently notified that my parent suffered a separated shoulder while there. Be very careful if thinking about using this place and do further research besides just being taken in by the nice looking surroundings.

It was a very nice facility. It was a very big complex or community. I think there were five floors in the building. It had a very wide variety of residents. It had residents who were still driving, some individuals were strictly assisted living, and some were independent living. I thought the accommodations were very nice. It did seem a little big and overwhelming to me. Also, it didn't meet our wish list or tick the boxes of what we needed.

The atmosphere was beautiful, warm, and inviting. The staff was very gracious and very welcoming. They made it me feel at home, and they even sent a little gift for my mother. I didn’t get to eat the food, but it did smell very good. The rooms were set up very nicely. I was able to stop to an art class where people were working on art projects, and that was very interesting. I really like the décor and how warm and inviting the facility was. I wish they had nursing care because Mom needed more than what they had to offer.

It was really nice, and I really liked that place. The first impression on coming in was it was very elegant; it wasn’t sad and gloomy, and it was vibrant. They were doing things, and it was a multicultural thing; it was really nice. They would have been my first choice, but it was a little more expensive. They have a huge sitting room out front, weight room, and physical therapy rooms. They have fresh water and coffee for the residents all day. The large room where they had their meals was very nice. I didn’t see the rooms personally, but only the floor plans.

I have watched this facility go down for a while. there is arguing in the dining room due to slow service, diabetics having to wait for over an hour for breakfast and dinner. I suspect this is because of a cut in help to save money. the quality of food has also gone down, portions are small. activities are not up to par as in the past. there are few choices. For the cost this should be an exceptional home for the elderly and skimping shouldn't happen. The problem could be poor management.

Our experience was very nice. We visited this place for my parents. The people we talked to were very nice and knowledgeable. We went there on a Sunday and there weren't a whole lot of activities going on at that time. The biggest drawback that we have for this facility is that it is a five-story building.

It was simply gorgeous. It was fabulous. The building was beautiful. I loved their apartments. They had a full view on either side that made the sunshine come into their apartments and really brightened it up. All the facilities that they had were extremely nice. Their staff was excellent, very cordial and very professional. They had an indoor pool and physical therapy. They had a deli-shop if you didn't want to eat at the dining room. The dining room was beautiful. You would think you're coming into a grand hotel. Of course, it was expensive, but if you can afford it, it's gorgeous. I liked the fact that everything was so convenient. You could either have their staff come in to do your laundry for you or they had the other option of having a washing machine and dryer available on each floor for the residents to use themselves. They had in-house nurses and a doctor facility right there in the building. I would recommend them to others.

We chose it because they gave my grandmother the independence that she needed in addition to the activities that she was accustomed to and that allowed her to not feel bad about needing the help that she needed. She needs round-the-clock care. If she pushes a button, somebody comes down for her. They got bingos and they go to trips. They have an art room and they have a swimming pool. You name it they have it. The place is amazing. The dining room is beautiful. It's like eating in a Marriott Hotel. The food is good. The atmosphere is nice.

It was a very nice facility. I wish my mom would agree to go there. I liked it very much, but she is unwilling to leave her home at this time. If I were in that situation, I would think that it would be a wonderful place to be. The people were very nice and the place was nice and clean. I can't really say enough about that place. The only thing that I saw that they could improve on is the parking availability because it seemed they have limited space for that.

The staff was all very kind and accommodating. The facility itself was beautifully cared for. It looked as if the residents were enjoying their time there: There were plenty of activities for them to indulge in, and there seemed to be an air of contentment about the place. In comparison to other homes I've visited, this one is much better.

Having been in a few different assisted living locations during my life, not for me, of course, I have to say that this place was one of the nicer ones. It's located in Southfield, which is a nice area. It doesn't look like much from the exterior, but once inside you can see why the place is a little more expensive than other assisted living homes. I had a Great Uncle stay here for a little over a year. I didn't know him well, but I often went with my Mother to visit him. The main thing I noticed was that it had a contemporary smell, which is rare in these places. It didn't smell "old" or have a distinct nursing scent. It was very nice and I remember my great uncle really enjoying his stay, but ultimately the place was a little too expensive. I think you get what you pay for in these places. I don't remember the staff being around my great uncle very much when I was there. I wouldn't doubt that they have good service there, it's just that my great uncle was very independent and didn't really need assistance in any way that I could discern.

I think it is an excellent choice for placement for some who is looking for a placement for a friend or a family member who prefers to live independently or in an assisted living apartment. While there, I noticed that the common areas were very nice for the seniors to enjoy a fulfilled life style with other seniors. The facility is surrounded by acres and of beautiful land and the country fresh smell of the fresh country air is so satisfying and relaxing. They offer their residents an array of services and support systems to fit right into each and every individuals Centered plan of care. It is an elegant apartment setting and surrounded by beauty both interior and exterior. Their residents are treated like family and they provide them with luxuries such as; their outdoor gardens, convenience store, on site house physicians and a wellness clinic, for the wellness of their residents overall health. They also provide their residents with an indoors swimming pool for their residents to exercise in and keep a healthy life style. Their professional skilled health care team is on site 24/7 for the convenience of their residents and they also encourage their residents towards a healthy life style and independence a primary promoter of growth and health. They also provide a formal dining setting for their residents, transportation services, linen and housekeeping services to their residents. The also provide their residents with the highest levels of quality care that is possible for their residents. I would most definitely rank it a fives stars rating for their excellence and expertise in the promotion of health and independence.

It is a good choice for elderly people or for independent living folks with physical and mental limitations. Its a place where these people can share a cosy, simple and silent living environment with a touch of emotions. The facility itself is well cared for. The management is really good, responsive. People who are being adandoned by their kith and kins or are alone in the big world can satisfy their living. The rooms are neat and clean. They are open and bright and gives a fresh breathe through out the day. There are attendants and caretakers assigned to each floor who are available 24/7. The rooms are with internal cable fittings and intercom phone connections to each room. It also has an AC and a temperature control system fixed to adjust with the climate. There are activity rooms(gym), beauty shops, laundry, restuarant and a big parking area as well. The place has a great area to spend a lovely walk with your partner. The area is so built that an elderly /physically retarded person can rest for a while admist of his/her a walk. With all these facility where a person can satisfy his luxury but also can get the care and emotion touch from the people around. Though situated in the interiors of the Michigan state, people are hardly aware of this place. This can be an advantage to add up to its lovely and peaceful environment.

I have a friend who is a resident of the facility. It's located on Eleven Mile Road in Southfield. I visit him often, and usually always dining with him during my visit. Great service and food I must say. They have a Celebrations program once a month, where you can be very social and do interesting activities. You cant get too bored here, there's always something one can do. My friend enjoys this place very much. And I do too during my visits. I recommend to those seniors looking for a fun, active, and social assisted living.
