I like American House Riverview very much. It's been a wonderful experience being here. Absolutely. They have very nice people and good staff. It's a good place to live and we have a doctor that is on call. The facility is very clean and very friendly, and they're always ready to help you. It's a very nice place to be. I have a two-bedroom apartment and it is beautiful. We have a gym and a lot of events that are going on all the time (a lot of them take place in the dining room when it's not being used for a meal). The food here at times can be stunning. At other times, I fix my own.

American House Riverview was nice. It's the independent living that I'm trying to go into. There were residents in wheelchairs and residents walking around. It's clean. The staff who assisted me was a nice lady. I called last minute, and she was able to squeeze me in a time to accommodate me. She told me beforehand that there were people that she would be assisting on a tour already, but she was able to give me a spot. The staff was able to answer my questions and give me a tour.

We went to American House Riverview. I like that they have three meals a day available and activities. There were cards and Bingo, and they had trips. They have a salon. The staff who accommodated us was very nice. She gave us a lot of options. She was thorough. There were round tables of 4 or 5 set in the dining room. It was nice and clean. I chose this place because it's close to my children.

I toured American House Riverview. My sister had already toured there at one point. It was a bit more expensive, and it was very outdated compared to the other homes. The staff members were wonderful, but I was unimpressed with the building.

I went to American House Riverview to see their independent living facility. It was very clean. It was very friendly. The only thing I didn't like was when you come in the door, you walk right into a busy, busy section of the lobby, and the cafeteria. I would like it better if you could come in and out more privately and have that off to the side, but that's the way they have it set up. The room was a one-bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. I didn't see a whole lot of activity going on, and I would like a little bit more of that, but it could have been the wrong time of day. So, I can't really say it wasn't good. You could do your laundry, but it was like a quarter a load or something like that. They have bus transportation. Meals were included, but you had to eat them in the cafeteria. You couldn't come down and take them back to your room.

I toured American House Riverview. The level of care is not separated by any means. You just have your own apartment and then services come to you. However, it looked a little raggedy. The main entryway when we walked in, the carpet looked like it needed to be replaced. There were a lot of residents, so it was very noisy. I didn't like that one. We walked out of there and said, 'No, that's not the place.' It wasn't well kept. The girl that showed us around was very nice and very informative. But she was a little distracted at one point because they were having a special activity. It was a baseball game party that they were having, and so she was kind of in a rush because she had to join that group. So that was hard to kind of get around that.

I chose American House Riverview for Dad because we liked the rooms. They were big and it's like an apartment. The other reason we picked it was because the price is reasonable and that's critical. They have a lot of amenities. They give three meals a day. They have a nurse that comes and gives you your medicine if you want. They have a big dining room, a gym, a game room, and they have activities. They also have transportation for the seniors. Everybody's happy. The staff is great.

I like that American House Riverview was super, super clean. Everything was just really immaculate, and my mom likes everything clean. The apartments were nice compared to others. I also like the fact that they have three meals a day and they clean twice a week. Although my mom can clean, it's just nice to know that someone is going to come in and help her out and do some of those things. So those were kind of the key amenities along with they have right there a nursing staff. There is a doctor who visits the site at least once or twice a week. If you want to see him, you can. They also have a hairdressing facility right there on site. It is all a big plus. And the staff was super friendly. We got to meet a lot of people that work in the kitchen and everything. Their tour was phenomenal. They took a lot of time. They were like, 'Is there anything else you want to see?' So they were really super, super kind. The girl that toured us, her name was Lynne. She was new there, but she knew her stuff, so that was nice. She was super knowledgeable, friendly, and super kind. She took her time with Mom, so that was nice. They offered us a meal, but we were all set, and the food looked great. The menu looked great.

American House Riverview was very clean. The rooms and dining area were sizable. They had a nice recreational area. I saw a one-bedroom apartment, and it was a nice size. They had a courtyard area with seats and flowers.

My sister is now at American House Riverview. I chose them because they were going to meet all her needs. It was the best place for her at this time. However, they need to improve their response time when she needs them. They need more staff. They're always shorthanded, but those that we've encountered have been fairly well. My sister does not like the food at all. She's in bed most of the time, so she doesn't do any of the activities. They offer quite a bit of amenities there. They have a salon and a private dining room if you have extended family coming over. They have transportation, and they have three meals a day.

My dad didn't care for American House Riverview too much. The available apartment was a long walk from there to the dining room. It was also on the third floor, and I don't think he wants to be on the third floor. They have independent living and then they have assisted living and the price goes up according to your needs. The room they showed us was nice. It was a two-bedroom, and it had a balcony. The staff was very helpful. They showed us the rooms that the activities were in. They also showed us the laundry room.

My mother-in-law is in American House Riverview. We were able to upgrade the services because she was qualified for Medicaid. Right now, it's working. She's basically confined to a room because of her health condition. She has something on her neck. She pushes a button if she needs somebody to help her use the restroom, or any other service she needs. It's a nice area, it's clean, and it's somewhat secluded because there were woods around it. They had bingo and several social events during the week, and I know they have a little van that they take people to town and shop. Everything was clean. The grounds were very clean. The layout is easy to get around. Every apartment has access to the outside if they want, and it's actually easy to walk around. I saw them deliver a couple of meals. It did look good.

I liked everything about American House Riverview. The staff was awesome. The place was updated and easy to move around. They had a lot of amenities and planned activities. They had a salon, a chapel, movie nights, a game room, a community room, and different other rooms for specific activities.

American House Riverview was our best bet. It's a nice place. The rooms were nice. It had some amenities that were nice. It had a nice view when you look outside. The staff during the tour did a good job, and she was nice. They offered coffee and water. They had a patio. The people that I met were real nice.

We toured American House Riverview. The only thing I didn't care for was the full-size kitchen stove. You get three meals a day there, so I see no reason that I would use the stove. I prefer a kitchenette and I could bring my microwave, toaster, and coffeepot and I'd be set to go. Otherwise, the unit was impeccably clean and it was very nice. It was a bit smaller than the other place I visited, but not that much. It had a balcony, which was nice. If you don't want to go trekking all over the place, you can sit on your balcony. Everything else was really good. We're going to go back there to see one of their programs that are coming. It's about a ship Edmund Fitzgerald and my husband worked on building that ship. We are going to see that because he has a lot of memories of that. They had plenty of things to do. The residents were all having lunch and seemed to be enjoying it. They were happy campers. Everybody waved and anybody that we came in contact with was more than friendly. It seemed like a very, very friendly place. The atmosphere was wonderful. We have not crossed it off our list. They had two available two bedrooms and that is very important. I didn't see anything that would be below a 5. They're kind and we were not rushed. We were able to look at things. It was a very pleasant day. We had a very informational packet that we've each gone through a couple of times to refresh. Everything was A1. They showed us sample plates of the lunch, and it looked very appetizing. You have two choices right away and then if you don't like either one of them, you tell them and they'll work up what you want. They gave us a good three months of menus to look at and it all looked very yummy.

I am at the American House Riverview and I love it here. I feel safe, I'm happy. and I'm well-fed. I've met people and have made friends already, but with the little bit of savings that I have right now, I have to pull every month from that to pay for my cable, my alert necklace, and everything else. Still, it's a great place. They play bingo and cards here, then if I'm running low on milk, I can go down to the dining room and just get milk, juice, tea, pop, or lemonade. You can just go right in and ask one of the workers and they'll do it for you. If you want a banana, apple, oranges, cookies, crackers, soup, or anything that you can imagine that you would want as an extra, they have it available to you. So, they're great people here, that's why I don't want to leave.

American House Riverview is a very nice facility. The lady that was showing me around was very nice. The prices are kind of expensive, but they're pretty much like everybody else, and even a lot lower than some of these places. But I found it to be a very nice facility. The staff who gave the tour was knowledgeable, very friendly, seemed to be pretty outgoing, and knew the residents that we ran into. With the COVID, they're alternating their dining room with the residents. But they're hoping to be done with that soon. Price-wise, it's within our price range.

My aunt put a deposit down at the American House Riverview. They handled us with excellent care. They did anything and everything, and they went above and beyond in making us feel welcome, helping us out, and being very patient. They have bingo, a theater room, and trivia. As far as activities go, they have quite a bit of things to offer. The rooms are really nice. They take good care of everything. Everything is clean and neat.

Our tour at American House Riverview was very good. They even took us into a unit. We were interested in a two-bedroom, she had a two-bedroom she could show us, and she took us there. She showed us the dining room, and it was a really good experience. Personally, if I could talk my parents into moving anywhere, I would talk them into going there. The staff was very nice and very informative, and they answered all of our questions. We like the layout; the only thing that was a little bit of an issue for my mom would be that some of the apartments are a long way from the elevator. She gets a little tired walking long distances, but they did have places she could sit and rest before she kept going, so that was nice. Everything was really clean. We saw the dining room, the library, the little chapel that they have and also use for activities, and the little outdoor space that they have. Because of COVID, they couldn't really introduce us to a lot of the people. I met a few of the people who live there, and they seemed really nice, but I didn't see a lot of the staff.

I liked American House Riverview. They answered all our questions, and they're available by phone. I get emails and phone calls. They always call back, although they are usually available by phone, and I don't even have to leave a message. My dad is in independent living. We got the keys, we knew which door to use, and we had a scheduled move-in time and date so that we wouldn't be interrupted by anybody else trying to do the same thing. The room he's in is much like the apartment he had before. I think it's good; it's adequate. I think he's played cards, but they're still being careful about their face-to-face interactions. They have meals as part of the package. He likes the food. They're expensive, but more affordable than a lot of the other places like them.

American House Riverview was a nice place, but it was not what my mom needed, and it was the only reason we left; they could not offer what she needed. The experience was very good. They took care of her and they helped out as much as they could considering it was independent and we were not paying for any assistance. The staff was very good. The food was as good as it could be considering that it is COVID and they're not serving them a hot meal. Her room was very nice. The community was very clean. They had some activities, but you had to sign up for them, and she did not go to any of them. They are only allowing three to five people at one time doing something. The outdoor spaces were nice. I could not fault them for the food being cold because it was out of their control. They could not keep it hot to bring it to the rooms, but other than that, the preparation and stuff like that was OK.

American House Riverview was probably the only place that we could afford. It was very nice. I wouldn't have any problems putting my mom there. They do everything for the person living there. They're very nice, and they have good accommodations. It looks like they have good food. They really take good care of the people like they're supposed to. The lady that I met was so wonderful to us. It was a beautiful facility. I loved it.

We're happy with American House Riverview, but there are things that can be improved on. There's medical help available at the facility, but we didn't understand how that worked at first. We needed help with bathing and we had my parents set up for that and they don't come. When you don't need them, they come. My parents are not too happy about the quality of the food. The staff is friendly, and it seems that the residents like the facility. They have Bingo, trips to the grocery store, and social trips to functions. It's a little expensive.

At American House, they had meals delivered to you and charged $5 a meal. The place was a little older, but they are remodelling it. It looked to me that they had older and more subdued people.

The apartments that I looked at in American House Riverview were in very good shape. There was one on the ground level that was OK, but it had a really mossy smell, like there was a water leak or something. As far as appearance and cleanliness goes, it was very nice. The staff were very friendly. When I arrived in their lobby, there was an activity going on, and everybody looked very happy. I was not able to eat there, but they did send some chocolate chip cookies home with me that were fabulous.

American House was very receptive to talking to people, showing them around, and trying to assist them in making up their minds. American House was nice and clean. I didn't interact with the staff that much, but everyone there seemed nice. However, if they could lower their rate that would help, financially. It had more amenities. If ever I had a stroke, I could stay in my own home and let them manage my medicine and physical therapy. That would have been wonderful.

My father liked American House because it was a close enough distance for everybody to go visit him. It's about 25 minutes from my house. The staff was kind, but they were also very knowledgeable and efficient. Any questions or whatever he had, they were right on with the answers for him. The rooms were very efficient, nice, and the colors that they used were inviting. He liked that. They didn't look like a nursing facility. They have everything that would interest seniors. He likes playing games and doing big activities; that interests him most.
Provider Response
We do like to think of our community as a home that just so happens to have lots of neighbors with similar interests! I’m glad your father liked it here, and I’m sure he will certainly enjoy himself socializing with everyone during all of our varied activities we have - and, if he has any ideas, I’d love to get his input! Don’t hesitate to call me should you have any questions.

There are two or three communities that I visited and since I live near American House, it seems to be the most advantageous for my loved one. I also chose this place for the fact that it is in my neighborhood and it is a nice facility. It also seems to be newer. The staff is very good. The rooms are clean. I think they have cards, bingo, reading activity, etc., for their residents. They also have guest speakers coming in and things like that. However, they could improve on food. In the scale of 1 to 5, I would give their food a 3.
Provider Response
You're right -- we do indeed offer quite a plethora of activities and events for our residents! And even though most people tell us our food options here are great, it is nice to have your feedback for where we may be able to improve. If you have any recommendations on what we should try, please let me know. Thank you!

My aunt lives at American house. She has lived there for 3 years and seems to like it very much. The have a lot of locations all over the US. We live in MI and there are many locations here. She lives nearly 15 minutes from the rest of the family so it makes it evry convenient to visit her any time. I would recommend American house from all that I have seen in the 3 years my aunt has lived there.

The staff were great, the food was just okay. The entertainment was delightful and the residents there seemed to get along and we're doing well. The negatives were the size of the facility and the confusing layout. The building was huge and the hallways seemed to go everywhere. It would be very confusing for someone who has memory issues.
Provider Response
Thank you for giving us your feedback about American House Riverview, ShortayD! Our staff works very hard to provide varied entertainment that is enjoyable for our residents. We also work hard to make sure our residents are happy. In fact, we just hired a corporate chef to assist in menu planning and presentation! And it may seem that our building is large, but it is sized so we can accommodate a good number of individual residences "” meaning, more men and women can enjoy our independent living arrangements. We also find our residents can quickly navigate their way around in no time at all. Please know that my door is always open. Thanks again for your feedback ShortayD.

I thought the facility was very nice. The living quarters are one or two bedroom apartments. They have a full dining facility for the residents so they can get breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks. The staff I met while I was there were very friendly and knowledgeable. It appeared the staff thoroughly love their jobs and the people that live there. The apartments were spacious so that my grandmother would still maintain her feeling of independence. They provide everything that their residents would need right there at the facility. For instance, they have a beautician and a barber available for the residents. They also have a garden which my grandmother loved. It is a small community so I feel confident they would be able to provide my grandmother with the attention she would require. My grandmother was very excited about the bingo they have at the facility and the outings they take the residents on.
Provider Response
Dear kelandsuzie,
Thank you so very much for your comments! And thank you for trusting us to provide your grandmother with the attention she deserves "” and since she is excited about the bingo, she will surely enjoy all the other activities she can join in on.
We take great care in making sure our residents are comfortable here and we try to provide everything they need. If you ever have any suggestions, or if you just want to stop in and say hello, my door is always open.

This assisted living home was very nice. My great aunt lived here for a length of time and, although she was reluctant at first, I think that she grew to enjoy it. The staff always seemed very friendly to my family and I when we would visit, and my great aunt said that they took good care of her. The area my great aunt lived in was very nice; well taken care of, clean, looked relatively new, and offered her a sense of independence by allowing her to cook if she wanted to. In general, the facilities seemed very nice; we were able to eat in the dining area with her when we visited and the staff were always very friendly. Additionally, they took care of her and seemed to know her likes and dislikes. My family appreciated their attention to detail. I believe that the excellent staff helped make for an easier, smoother transition for my great aunt from living on her home to living here.
