I was so happy to see how nice the facility is now. Beautiful gathering rooms, dining areas & rest rooms for visitors. The patient rooms are comfortable with plenty of storage. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was extremely patient & kind. This was very comforting for my family & I.

If you care about your loved ones, do not leave them here. They do not care about their patience/residents. Food is disgusting, nursing staff is a joke, doctors?? What doctors????. You need to call them 40 min in advance to take you to the bathroom. No-one there to complaint - no one cares.

My mother was at Medilodge of Richmond for rehab and it was horrible. My experience was awful. They neglected my mother, who was not able to get up to go to the bathroom on her own, did not do anything on her own and was in a lot of pain. She would call for help and it would be at least sometimes an hour, hour and a half, before anyone even looked at her. One day, she sat for 6 hours before getting back into bed. I had to go to the administration and discuss these issues with them, and then things improved a little bit for a while. And then they started sliding right back down again. So, I was very disappointed. They said that the staffing was completely great and they didn't have to wait on anything, but my mother was ignored, for the most part. I was not impressed with that at all. I would never, ever send a loved one back. The facility looked OK. It smelled half bad depending on what crew it was during the day. The nursing staff itself was sufficient. The aides were not sufficient; they did not have nearly enough. Some of them were not very caring at all and did not give a hoot about the patients like literally running off and taking garbage out instead of taking my mother to the bathroom. Their staff was less than mediocre. According to the numbers, she said she was fully staffed. According to the service my mother got, they were extremely understaffed. Their food was pretty pitiful, frankly, especially on the weekends. And it was always cold. My mother was not eating. I had to bring in meals for her to eat. We're paying for the nursing home to feed her, and I've got to live there to make sure she's OK. They had one aide that was spectacular, and her name was Havana. She was fantastic. She was very patient and she was knowledgeable. She was very strong and never dodged my mother. She was always very good and even came to check on my mother when she wasn't on her floor.

Do not put anyone you love in this home..... My sister was in here in 2020 when the pandemic 1st began. She had a traumatic brain injury it could Could not call for help or use her hands...... They had no call buttons no phones nothing in the room for residents to call for help...... She was found on Unresponsive and rushed to the hospital where she died of covid. I will Regret not moving her out of this place sooner until the day I die

DO NOT LET YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY STAY HERE!!! THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD!! THE NURSES AND AIDES ARE VERY RUDE, COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT MAKING ENOUGH MONEY, COMPLAIN ABOUT THE WORK. THEY YELL AT PATIENTS AND BELITTLE THEM. MY HEART BREAKS FOR THE RESIDENCE HERE, AS I HAVE NOT ONLY WITNESSED MY DAD BEING TREATED LIKE CRAP, BUT MANY PATIENTS AS WELL. THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE, MY DAD IS TURNING INTO A SKELETON. PLEASE RUN FROM THIS PLACE, SAVE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!!!

My mother was a patient there from March to may of this year she was copd I gave them her medication list near the beginning of her stay. I finally brought in her nebulizer and advir and Speriva . Under the knowledge of one of the care givers I proceed to getting out the nebulizer and the solution and the nurse. Jumped on me for doing so they then started giving her the nebulizer but still not her other medications which I gave them two lists at the beginning and near the end the on 5-15-18 I came there as I usually did everyday and At about 4 to 6 pm when I saw her i told the nurses about my concerns she wasn't looking well . I had to leave thinking they would be checking on her Lord behold at around 1 am i get a call my mother had passed not to call to ems until it was too late beware

The nurses there do NOT do their job - patients not getting medication on time, leaving patients in the hallway, and help is not given to patients when they need it etc.. Not to mention the food is horrendous. So sad to think that elderly people who cannot care for themselves are in a place like this.

I was in several rehabs after a car accident but this was the worst place. The physical rehab staff was cheerful and supportive but didn't actively come and get patients. Not one staff member spoke to patients anymore than necessary. Medication delivery was sketchy. I was homeless from a long hospitalization and they offered no social workers to assist with housing. Food was awful. There were 3 people in my room and we shared a bathroom with another room. A dreadful experience.

We chose Medilodge of Richmond for my mom, and it is a very small building which is now being rebuilt, and it's going to be very nice. The staff is very accommodating and showed me everything I needed to know. It's very clean and nice.

I spent 11 days in this home for recovery, on March 2,2017 I lost my left leg due to septic shock. I had PT and they helped me get ready to go home. All the nurse's and CNA's where really loving and caring. I would recommend this home to my friends and family and any others looking for a decent place.

I have had three different family members in the facility over the last few years. The building/rooms are always clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and they really seem to care about their patients. I also really liked that they provided entertainment and activities for the patients their including television, animal visits, and a pianist who came regularly.
