We chose Maple Ridge Manor for my mother because it had the availability, it was within her means, and its proximity (it was close by for me). The facility is about two or three years old. So, it's fairly new. I think it has a small capacity, like 35 for assisted living, and maybe 15 for memory care in another wing (she is in the assisted living). She has a daily calendar of activities, which includes 45 minutes of some type of exercise activity. They transport their people out usually at least once a week, sometimes to more various activities or shopping. They have a group where a geriatric doctor comes in and visits them. She felt comfortable there and it's clean. It just fits into her lifestyle. My mother enjoyed the meals. She avoids dairy products, and they have gone out of their way to make sure that when there's an excessive amount of cheese or dairy, they change what she eats for her. They cater to her needs. While the others are having ice cream, she's having that lactose-free ice cream. They're giving her almond milk rather than the regular dairy milk. So,that's been very helpful.
