This is a very clean, pretty, well kept residence. Meals are good. Rooms size, based on cost are nice. My suggestion would be to paint colored lines on floor so residents know they live in the “blue” corridor and can navigate back to room. Also have a coffee dispenser machine so residents can get coffee whenever they want and staff don’t worry about them dropping the glass coffee pots etc.

Bickford of West Lansing is where we're going to send my aunt and we're very happy with it. They were kind and very thorough in showing us the amenities and everything that's offered. They were very nice people. They have washers and dryers on site, several lounges, and eating areas, and a nice patio for the residents to go out on and hang out. The facility was very appealing and very clean. The apartments were good and nice.

Bickford of West Lansing was one I was very impressed with. I liked the feel of the place. The room was nice with a nice big bathroom and a walk-in shower. It was lovely. They had a lot of things going on. While we were there, they were getting ready to go on a shopping trip on a bus. Their menus looked wonderful, and the people were very nice and very caring. They had a pool, a library, and an activity center. All the people that we dealt with were extremely helpful.

My father is in Bickford of West Lansing. It's an excellent facility. It's well staffed. The food and everything are excellent. It's quite expensive for what you get, as far as the rooms are concerned. They are just regular rooms, and you have to furnish your own furniture. They have a lot of activities going on every day, so my father enjoys that part of it. It is a beautiful facility. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. They offer all three meals, and he enjoys the food. He's cooked all his life. For him to enjoy somebody else's cooking is great. He goes to their bible study, and he does a lot of walking with their walking group. They have a kickball activity that he participates in.

Read the fine print. After a CNA care worker called me to tell me of my mom's passing. No one from administration reached out to give condolences or tell me the next steps. I had to call them and found out the daily full room rate would be charged until we had everything out of her room. The office manager told me the director would stop the December payment. But unfortunately the $8,900 was deducted. Telling me it will take up to 2 months to return funds. Care workers were great. Administrators brought down the star rating

The staff at Bickford of West Lansing is very friendly and caring. Their meal plans are a lot of variety and have a lot of good options for their clients. The rooms are primarily efficiencies. Some of them have an L shape, but there is not a lot of privacy; they don't have separate bedrooms and separate living areas, which is all the order of efficiencies. I saw some difficulty in having a television set because you would have to sacrifice some furniture. The staff was courteous, friendly, and appeared to be caring. The amenities appear to be very good, and the cost seems to be above some of the facilities that have a better setup. The cost I calculated would be $6,900.

My mother moved into Bickford of West Lansing beginning of the month. She's in assisted living, and we like the privacy of the areas that they are in. They're set up more like little apartments versus a nursing home room or something along that line. They have a coffee bistro, a hair salon, a fitness center for physical therapy, and they could go and do their laundry if they were still capable in a community laundry room. It was the amenities that gave them still some independence that we liked. The staff is excellent. Everybody there is friendly, very welcoming, and helpful. We didn't meet anybody that wasn't that way. She seems pretty happy with the food. With Covid, they had to go into quarantine for two weeks, but now that they're back off their quarantine, they have great activities for them. Their pricing was comparable to other places, we just liked their setup better.

Bickford of West Lansing was very, very nice and very pleasant. The problem was that their rates would constantly increase as my husband needed more and more care. The Alzheimer's section was not as nice as their assisted living, but they have lovely choices of food. They can eat à la carte for every meal if they want to, and that was naturally attractive to my husband, but I decided against it simply because of the fact that they were going to be increasing the rates by day as you get more care. I knew I was going in at a fairly high cost.

We were kind of leaning toward Bickford of West Lansing before we found the other place. But the other one was better in our price range and the rooms were a little bigger. We had the brochures, and we walked around the building. With Covid, we didn't really go in, we just looked through windows. I think we looked at both assisted living and memory care. The memory care was super tiny. The man we spoke with was very nice, knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. It was the price range and the size of the room that made the difference. We just kind of peeked into the windows. We kind of could look into the great room that they had and it was really pretty. They had a Christmas tree, and it looked very clean and well kept. From what we could see through the windows, everything looked clean and neat.

When you visit any facility, be aware of how the staff interacts with the residents. My family knew that mom was loved and cared for every day. They came to the hospital during a recent stay, which warmed our hearts. Mom has passed and the staff has been nothing but professional, loving and supportive to our family.

We looked at Bickford of West Lansing but our mother didn't need that type of assistance. Still, I totally liked the place, but they sent flowers to my mother and it really creeped her out. So we had to start all over again. But initially we really liked it and liked the size of it. It was a very clean place and I liked the way it was organized into neighborhoods. So for residents with dementia, it's easy for them to understand where they live and what to do. They seemed overly concerned with their staff, and they seemed to engage with their seniors, but they seemed more engaged with their staff. They wanted to tell me about the amenities they have for their staff. They contacted my mother when I asked them not to. Their rooms were studio apartments, so they didn't have one- or two-bedrooms. We looked at their criteria for independent living versus assisted living or what they call enhanced living and memory care; we checked it all out. They have pretty much the same activities as other communities have. The day we were there they had a bus going to the fair, they also have television nights, and card nights. They have a great menu, and the dining area is like a restaurant where they choose their food. We didn't eat there but we saw the menu, which looked wonderful, and they made a point to tell us that it's all prepared there, so it's homemade.

Bickford of West Lansing had a urine smell and there was no elevator. The staff wasn't that friendly. The amenities were average. There was a patio, but it's a non-smoking facility. The rooms were small. The dining area was in the middle of being renovated . They had exercises. It didn't seem like a very friendly place and it would be hard for the residents to get around if they were on the second floor, but the surroundings were nice.

Bickford of West Lansing starts out at the assisted living level, so they don't have any independent living. They only have about 60 people, so that was automatically a no because my mom wants more people and she wants people that are better off. The community itself was really nice, although the rooms were too small. We saw studios and an extremely small 1-bedroom, which was another problem, but the facilities are nice and new-ish.

Bickford of West Lansing was a two-story building, but Mom doesn’t like elevators, and she has a difficult time with stairs. The staff was very nice, though. They were renovating and adding another building for memory care. I liked the setup because there were three communities on each level and each community had its own recreation/dining room area. The grounds were very nice and very impressive, and it was located in a nice part of the town.

My mom has happily resided at Ingham Regional Assisted living for the past two years. The staff genuinely cares about my mom from the Nurses to the Maintenance man. When I visit, I am updated on what's been going on with her and I feel reassured. I can sleep at night.

Ingham Regional Assisted Living was poorly staffed. The place was beautiful. It was like a hotel. The food was very good. They had activities like bingo. My mom was there for not more than 24 hours. The staff was very good, but they did not staff them well enough.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law stayed at Ingham Regional Assisted Living. It's assisted living but they also had a nursing home in the same place. We ate there a few times and it was pretty good food. They took care of the the place. They had mail delivery and a barber there. They had a nice room with a microwave and TV. They had a place where everybody could see a big TV. I was impressed most with the care of the staff. I also liked that if you leave, you'd sign out and sign in because some people get out of those places and end up dying because they get lost somewhere.

We have visited Ingham Regional Assisted Living a couple of times, and it seems like a very nice place. It seems very warm, comfortable, inviting, and homey. The staff is very nice. The rooms and apartments are very spacious. They have physical therapy, birthday dinners, exercises, and bingo.

We looked at Ingham Regional, and we liked it OK, but it has too many residents. The Ingham, I think, has 72 residents. It's a whole lot bigger. What I like about Ingham, is they have a call pendant; a pendant response alert system. Their transportation is cheaper if they have to be transported somewhere. They said that their care staff is all nursing students, then I said their turnover rate would be quite high, with the nursing students coming and going. The team leaders do stay a while, though. The rooms are small 1-rooms, like studios. They are all clean. Because they're in the same area, Ingham Regional would have been our second choice.
