My husband ,Denny was a patient for 5 months. He was taken such great care of. The nurses , physical therapists. , all the care givers that took care of his everyday needs , maintenance people, Cleaning staff. , dietary staff. , Financial gals. ( Joy ). And I must not forget. Barb, his chaplain. Even the the whole Supervisory staff. Everyone there gave such love and such tender care. We loved you all. If I missed thanking someone I'm so sorry. If anyone is looking for a great, loving place to go yourself or a family member. ---- I would choose this as your home away from home. Love to everyone there and THANK YOU so much, Marsha Steffens

This place is corrupt , they dropped my loved one he ended up with a broken rib and his wallet got stolen and all his cash and they don’t know anything there acting as if he is crazy I think they over medicated him because he was knocked out cold the day his wallet ended up missing …

Husband is currently in the short stay area of Valley View Care Center. Staff are well meaning, but may be over worked. They do well as long as a family member requests services as needed.

I toured Valley View Care Center. It was nothing special. They had a room for my dad, but I just chose not to spend $11000 a month. It was very expensive. They have Medicaid, but he's probably $60,000 away from Medicaid. My dad was going to start in rehab because he needs rehab to get some strength back, and the room was nice. It was a bed, a TV, and a bathroom without a shower. But the way the pricing works, I couldn't put him in there. They have a beautiful exercise room because they're also a rehab facility. They have courtyards. I saw mostly women doing activities in different areas. It was clean and I smelt no urine. Another thing I didn't like about that place is once he went to nursing, he would have to share a room, and my dad would not be good with a roommate.

Please do not bring your loved ones here. The food is horrible and served cold, i have seen alot of the patients send it back. My loved one is here and has fallen several times, no calls were placed to family members and the patient was not taken to hospital. My loved one ended up with a broken bone and no doctor seen them until 7 days later, they were then told well its to late to do anything. My loved one has doctor visits and when they return with new scripts or instructions from the doctor they are never given or followed. My loved one when in pain has to beg to see a doctor, lucky enough they begged enough just in time to find out they had ammonia. In the elderly this is very dangerous and can cause death. I had to have them review the patients medicine because they had the patient over medicated. The patient also went out on a visit for the day and no medicine was given for that day. The patient had a feeding tube and tried telling me the patient pulled it out when really the person whom was taking care of it did not properly secure the feeding tube. The patient also had a bad infection and it took a very long time to heal because proper care was not given at the time until I started asking questions. Some of the staff are friendly and helpful others are just there. Office personnel need help. I will not let another one of my family member ever go here.

I had an extended stay at this facility following two separate back surgeries. I was denied PT because the therapist was frustrated because I could not do what she wanted. I wound up with muscle atrophy in my legs and could not even stand up on my own. I was also denied going to the restroom (I was restricted to once every two hours) because the staff was irritated with taking me. One of the nurses was so rough that she ripped my feeding tube out of my stomach and I had to have it surgically replaced. I was scared to death of her. She lied to the supervisor and said I did it myself but I was too afraid to tell him the truth. My sister had to insist a review of my medication because for the first couple of months they were over medicating me. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I do admit however, there were a few members of the staff that were wonderful and great caregivers.

I was sure this would be a good place for my mother after her surgery. Boy was I wrong - the staff was supposed to change the dressing on her foot 2 times a day - well that never happened and now she is heading back to the hospital because the infection is 10 times worse. I want to say do not bring your loved ones to this facility. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I was a patient at Sanctuary following a serious bout with pneumonia. This facility was a lifesaver. The staff were caring and helpful . They have couldn't have been nicer. THE facility was clean and met my needs. My only complaint was the food, but I could always choose an alternate and was not made to feel bad about it. St. Mary's met my needs and more. PT and OT were very accomodating and pushed me,but not beyond my limits. They were fantastic. The nurses were exceptional, especially Tom and Matt. I can't say enough good about St. Marys.

I would rate this facility average. The staff were wonderful. My grandma liked the facility as much as a facility of this sort can be liked(she would like to be home). She enjoyed her roommate, surprisingly. She had very few complaints and that says a lot because she is not easy to please. She had little to say about the food except she wanted more salt, but had a great deal to say about the staff she had her favorites. She knew and referred to several employees when I visited or when other family members visited her. From what I could tell, the facility was well-maintained and clean. It could have been a little bit brighter and cheerier, but that, of course, is a bit subjective (and you do not what to appear to be fake and trying too hard).

I would not rate this facility highly BUT also not low. It was average. The staff (at least the members I came into contact with) were wonderful. The resident I knew (my grandfather) liked the facility as much as a facility of this sort can be liked (FYI: he wanted to return to his home and live independently). He enjoyed his roommate, surprisingly. He had very few complaints and that is saying something coming from him, you will just have to trust me on that point. He had little to say about the food, but had a great deal to say about the staff (as indicated above). He knew and referred to several employees when I visited or when other family members visited him. From what I could tell, the facility was well-maintained and clean. It could have been brighter and cheerier, but that, of course, is a bit subjective (and you do not what to appear to be fake and trying too hard).

This place is a dump. The staff is very rude. Patients get ignored because they give 64 patients to one nurse.

I did not really care for the facility, however this was the only place that could accommodate his needs. The facility was the only one that was close to all of the family. His care itself was good, however the staff there seemed like they were worked short staffed a lot of the time. My family spent a lot of time in the facility helping my grandpa out as much as they could. When walking in the front entrance a odor is present that I didn't feel should be there, I guess a lot of that comes from the aides and nurses having to many patients. There is also hard tile on the floors to me it always seemed like a hazard, I felt like it needed carpet in certain areas. The over all appearance wasn't bad looking, I have seem other homes where it truly looked bad. So overall the experience with the home wasn't that bad. If there was more help it would have been even nicer.

One of my best friends was transferred to St. Mary's a few years ago. Her experience at the previous location was negative for the most part so she was happy to move. St. Mary's staff welcomed her and accommodated her every need. I was impressed with the administration and the nursing staff alike. Specifically, allowing her to move to the room of her choice ensuring her close proximity to the chapel started the experience off on the right foot. Imelda had some special dietary requirements which were cheerfully met each week as the menu changed. Special requests were also given attention. I visited Imelda at least twice a week for over six years of her stay. She was wheelchair bound and appreciated the level grounds of the garden and outdoor meditation area. I've had many experiences with other nursing homes in the area over the years. In my opinion St. Mary's is by far the best.

My experience with Saint Mary's Living Center was anything but great. My grandfather was there for about four months until his life ended. We had a great experience with certain people, but other than that, it seemed as if nobody cared. We could push the button to call someone to his room and nobody would come until we went down to the desk and asked for someone. They would just ignore the buzzer that was going off. My mom ended up changing my grandfather, since he could not get out of bed on his own because the nurses that worked there would ignore him. They would attempt to hold events for the people that could make it to them, but it seemed like they just threw things together to make it seem like they were trying. The building was usually pretty dirty as well. Like I said, there were certain nurses and workers there that were great, but for the most part the place was dirty, and the workers ignored their patients. If you can avoid putting your loved one in this facility, do it.
