The room I stayed in was excellent! It was a large private room! Very comfortable and homely. The room was neat and cleaned everyday. The house keeping staff was respectful. The nursing staff was excellent! I was somewhat hesitant about going there because I thought it would not be the same as my home. But to tell you the truth I had mixed feelings about going home. I loved the food! Excellent chefs, great tasting foods and with flavor 😋 👌. I loved the activities. My view was great! Infact, I highly recommend Porter Hills Village to everyone I know. If I ever have to go back I would gladly return. It felt like a second home to me.

Porter Hills Village is in a very nice area. I like the location from where I'm living now. It looked very livable and very comfortable. The one thing I have against Porter Hills is I would like a two-bedroom and they do not have two-bedroom apartments, although I have seen some of their rooms, and that probably could work out. The staff was very friendly and I went to a craft workshop one day with them. I have been invited to activity-type things that I was not able to go to. They are keeping in touch with me.

We toured Porter Hills Village. It was a very nice facility, but it felt like a motel room. I mean, they even have little patios to walk out onto, which are nice. It didn't feel like you were living in a community. It was very clean and very different from how it's set up in the other facility, but it was certainly a very nice area. It just didn't feel like home. They were nice. I felt at heart that people really went out of their way to be friendly. They had a lot of volunteers. The dining area was nice and bright.

My sister joined Porter Hills September 2022 . Judy at 84 is a very healthy woman who loves long walks!. Judy enjoyed her team that helped her adjust to PH. Judy did share the food was all “ mushy”! From day one I realized PH is negligent in communication. The only number given on site rings and no one answers! Try again ,rings and no one answers! Incredibly frustrating and with PH prices please hire receptionists for phones! My sister died in her sleep recently. As personal representative to her estate I need all records of my sister. Yet again no one answers! Day 5 attempting to get a person to forward me all records! This behavior is incredibly unprofessional and irritating! PH needs a email that is answered daily! Plus email is much more efficient then a phone number where no one answers! PH jobs are 35 hours a week so no benefits for our working class that provides loving care to our “ vintage” family. PH Share all the money with staff that are paid a livable wage and answer the phones! Anne Cridler

My tour experience of Porter Hills Village was very nice. The person who did our tour was very nice and showed us everything. It looked like a very nice place. People looked like they were comfortable there. We think it's going to be way more than we can afford, but they encouraged us to fill out an application. We are filling it out and we'll be taking it over to them, but we think that the buy-in for it is just way too much and we wouldn't be able to afford that. We saw one apartment and it seemed nice. The people had just moved on, and so they were in the process of redecorating. It looked spacious. If it isn't already remodeled, when you go there, you get to pick out the stuff that you want in it as far as cabinets, the type of carpeting or flooring that you want, and the paint colors and stuff. So that's kind of nice. The staff who gave the tour was a very nice young lady. We saw the kitchen and the menu for the restaurant, and it seemed very nice. The prices were comparable to a regular dining restaurant. You get an allowance to spend per month on food if you want to eat there. They also do some cleaning and stuff there and other things like that weekly, but I don't know if that's extra or what because we didn't get into that too much. They have patios or decks depending on whether you're on ground level or above. The place we looked at had a cement patio out behind it. It was nice because it overlooked the golf course. It's an older place, but they've remodeled it and it's quite nice. There's a covered parking garage slot, too. The one thing I didn't like about it was the fact that they didn't offer any type of transportation if you didn't have a car. Some of these places have buses and they take you to the store and places like that if you don't drive, and the negative for Porter Hills Village was that they didn't do that. The staff who toured us was very good. She was very informative, very pleasant and knowledgeable. The place was very clean and well-maintained.

My husband is at Porter Hills Village. I think it is very good, and the staff is very good and very caring. There is not a big turnover, which always tells me that it is a good thing. He is in a room with another person, it is not very big, but he is comfortable. He enjoys the meals. There's not much activity for him because he is not interested in movies or playing games. I would not say they have a lot of amenities, but they have a nice courtyard walking area. Everything is always very clean, there are no bad smells which you can find in senior communities. I never had any bad experience with the staff. They always keep me informed. Of course, it's been very hard not to be able to visit him for almost a year, but they have meetings every three months. I guess I'd really emphasize on their cleanliness. They take very good care of him. He never had any problems with bedsores or anything like that.

My friend moved into Porter Hills, and it's a wonderful, inclusive place. The staff is excellent. The facilities are neat and clean. She's in a one-room with a bed, dresser, and two chairs. She's allowed to bring items from her home. They have a salon, doctors' services, nurse practitioner, podiatrist, dentist, a store to buy things, and several courtyards where you can take the wheelchair out and be in the outdoors. It's very lovely.

Porter Hills Presbyterian Village was very nice, and the people were very warm. I have two friends who are there. The amenities were very nice. They had different views out the windows and a very good selection of rooms, but none were available, so they have a waiting list. They have extended care for those who get hurt. I had a very nice lunch. They had a bus to take them shopping. I couldn't find fault in anything. They seemed to have everything.

All the facilities and the rooms at Porter Hills Retirement Communities and Services were very nice. They had more little services that would be pleasant for a person living there. For instance, if my mom was still going to be driving, she would need to park her car in a handicapped place. They said she could do that or she could park under a car port, and in the winter, they will go get her car, clean it off, drive it to the entrance, and she can pick it up there, which was a nice service. They had a way of taking the residents to various group locations, or get them a taxi if they needed it. I would say they were the best with amenities.

It’s almost three weeks since I am at Porter Hills, and I am very pleased with the place. The condition that led me here was that I am a fall risk person, and that has had already been corrected through medication. They take care of my medication twice a day. They also have a doctor who sees me and several nurses who oversee my day to day condition. Their dining room is just walking distance from all the apartments. We have three meals a day, and the food is excellent.

Porter Hills Village was huge with long and narrow hallways, but otherwise, it was nice and had all kinds of things for people and different arrangements for everybody, so it just depends on what you want. The staff was very nice.

Independent living is great, "skilled nursing" is a joke. Beware of "in-house" health care providers. Their medical director ignored my father's need to see a cardiologist until he had to be hospitalized. When he went from the hospital to the nursing center at Porter Hills they did not give him the prescribed Lasix for 4 days! My mother was put on increasing doses of a medication which made her psychotic & resulted in her needing to be hospitalized. In both of these situations it was family members, not the nursing staff, who recognized errors & had to initiate hospitalization. The podiatrist was collecting their money but neglecting their feet & when the executive director was informed, the response was "that's a contract agency, they don't work for us". The skilled nursing center is chronically understaffed & most of the staff are hurried & surly & when one of my parents pressed the call button someone would come in, turn it off & say they would be back later (which was never). This was the norm, it was an exception when they actually got help as a result of pushing a call button. We met several times with administration who offered up nothing but excuses & defense of staff behavior. Caveat Emptor!

My mother-in-law is in the independent part of Porter Hills Village. It's a great place. She loves it. We have friends whose parents have been there and besides, around this area it is a very known place. So we have come across it through word of mouth, it has been there for a long while, and they have a great reputation. The staff is very nice. She has an apartment, and it is nicer than I ever had when I was living in an apartment. It is very nice. My mother-in-law likes the people there. She likes the activities. She loves the food. It has a courtyard, and she is able to have her little pet there. It was just the best fit for her, and she is very happy there. They're all very independent there and they could come and go as they please. She has made friends. I know she plays a lot of cards, participates in book clubs, and all that kind of stuff in this place. It is a very secure place. I would certainly recommend this facility. Out of all of the ones around, it is very nice. It is not the fanciest, but it is very nice. It has a lot of good qualities. It is a community, and you can go there from independent, to the assisted, to the nursing, and to hospice. It is all within one area.

My parents have lived here for many years and the staff is nice and attentive. The assisted living area where my mother is now living has lovely rooms and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is great considering they have to feed so many people with different needs. There are many activities, a computer room, indoor pool, workout room, library, guest rooms for out of town visitors that are plush. It is a huge place with connecting halls and serves those who very ill to healthy 55 year olds who buy the townhomes. The vesper services on Sunday are nice and the meeting house is used for memorial services. The residents are treated like VIPs and the management is easy to interact with.

I had quite a pleasant experience with this assisted living facility. The staff was always very helpful and took great care of my Grandma while she lived there. As far as amenities go.. They always had fun activities planned for all of the residents in the Porter Hills home. Every Friday night they would have a social hour at 6 p.m. where they played bingo or watched movies, and even had a Wii for people to play! The facilities were quite top notch. The room that my Grandma stayed in was recently renovated and had new furniture. The main building was not in the best condition but I do believe that they are planning on remodeling soon. I was sad to know that my Grandma had to move into an assisted living facility, but the staff, room, and activities were very great. I had a very pleasant experience with Porter hills and would definitely recommend the place to my friends.

I believe that this is very nice and run very well. The people at the facility seem very nice and gracious. My great uncle moved in here recently and he seems very pleased with it. He says that there are lots of activities and ice cream socials. My great uncle says that his electric bill is very reasonable and that the food isn't too bad. When I visited him here he talked about heated underground parking and woodworking facilities but I did not see these. The rest of the establishment seemed very nice though very quiet. The facility had a dining room and a library among other areas. My great uncle seemed to be making friends easily but he still enjoyed going out (still driving at 92). Overall, I believe the facility is nice and a good value though I do not have that much experience with other facilities to compare it to.

This facility appeared to be very clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly, smiling and went out of their way to introduce themselves to me. My grandmother was there for rehabilitation. It was not clearly marked where I should go within the facility and would have easily gotten lost if I had not gotten clear directions from another family member. Dining areas looked home-like and there was ample sitting areas.
